I can't remember which one, but Pat relates the story about grabbing Jimi's Strat on a bootleg recording that I have. I think it's from '99 or '00 and it's a solo electric/acoustic show - but don't quote me on that one. Randy |

Hi Angie, YOU have all the prints, and negatives, of the Bad Ass REK shows from the Daytona Biketoberfest. You`ll have to scan the pics into your kumpewtr and then attatch them into a e-mail to Ed. If ya don`t have a scanner, just send the pics back to me and I`ll do it for you. That was a fun weekend! Hey Angie, Eric has a PTB gig listed on his website calendar for Nov. 16th in West Palm Beach. Can you confirm the date and let me know exactly where and what time in WPB? Palm Beach is a short drive for me. I used to catch PT all the time in Palm Beach, back in the long ago days of my youth. There`s the 17th annual Ft. Lauderdale Blues Fest going on this weekend. Last night I saw Michael Burkes and that band ssssmoked for about 2 1/2 hours! Tonight, Walter Trout is gonna kick everybodies butt. I also wanna catch Little Charlie and the Night Cats tonight also. On Sunday, Cocoa Montoya will be doing his stuff, WOOHOO!!! There are a few of my local favorite bands there this weekend too! Ya gotta support yer locals! Angie, my e-mail addy is inboard@earthlink.net . Well, thats all my jive fer now, I`m on my way out to Ft. Rockerdale now! S'later, JH |

Pat Travers (70s and early 80s) Queen '78/79 (the oven lights tour) UFO (anything from the 70s) To think that this footage is sitting somewhere fathoms me as to why nobody (especially the bands themselves) won't release it on DVD. I like what Triumph did. They released the US Festival on DVD for a limited time and then they'll yank it. The fans get the goods and the band makes a buck plus they don't have to go into additional pressings. Hey Ed/Rich, tell PT (ok, ask him nicely...forget that...just flat out beg him) to release some rare footage from the early days already. |

Well, once again, PTB is back to kick our asses, with Rick and Eric in full effect! Jaxx in Springfield, VA was the site of their latest conquest, and a memorable night for all us PT die-hard fans. Me and Ice Queen got a nice chance to hang a bit with Eric and Rick (and Rich and Nancy) while they scarfed down some Chinese grub next to the club, and hear some of their humorous stories of the road, from here and abroad. Always a pleasure to hang out with those guys! Then, it was back to Jaxx for a decent warm-up from a band called "Eric King and The Thin Line", a kind of SRV/KWShepherd kinda blues/rock vibe, they were pretty good. Finally, the wait was over....Pat and da boyz took the stage, and after fiddling a bit with the equipment, Pat taunts the audience "We're here to kick your ass!" and slams into "Hooked On Music". Old and new PT fans alike were jammin' to the rockin' sounds of the PTB. The rest of the set list (as near as I can remember and not in order) is as follows Life in London The Pain Just Enough Money Stevie Elijah Crash and Burn (my first time live with R&E) Rick's Bass Solo A detour into Hot Rod Lincoln...basically a train wreck Snortin' Whiskey Boom Boom Encore: Inside Lookin' Out from PT Power Trio Got to chat with everyone some after the show and get some autographs on my "naked" PT liner notes. I had so many that after about 5 he just started writing "P.T." LOL. Always the gentleman though. And Rick and Eric are always a blast too. All in all, was a great night, can't wait to do it again soon! Hope all are well Carl (aka PurpleHaze62) |

Well, well, well... What a friggin' KILLER show!!! That trio has come together like a fine wine. First off the club has just over hauled the sound system. Then Pat, Rick, and Eric just blow the damn doors off the place!! It was a combination of funny and amazing to see the crowds reaction. You know, probably half the people there had never seen Pat. I figured this out by what every one was talking about before the show. Then you get these guys (just three of them), standing there with little or no fanfare and.... WHAM!!! cave your head in rock and roll! Literally it was a wall of sound!! People jaws hits the floor. That then was followed by a perma-grin that lasted the entire rest of the gig. Frankly even I was astonished! I mean there were no "holes" in the sound. You sit there and stare in disbelief and try to figure out as everyone else was, how can they be that fantastic? Crap, there is only three of them. The vocals were PERFECT! After acouple songs we put our ear plugs in and wow, what a difference! Then you could hear evey little nuance and detail. PERFECT harmonies! God damn, these guys rock! Then when it's all over they are like "oh, yeah, well.." like, naturally, what else would you expect. Poor Zebra (remember them?... me neither), they had to follow the band. Pat was telling jokes and stuff. He said he "went for halloween this year... as himself... only more so". LOL!!!! Finally the encore of that Grand Funk song off of power Trio, just ripped the damn roof off. Christ if these guys get any better my head is going to explode! Pat was just shredding the hell out of it and his vocals... man how the f doe she sing like that with out killing his voice?! Ricks solo was a lot more intricate than anything I have seen him do before. He was playing the thing the way lovers stroke each other and the bass was responding perfectly. (sorry, that's best way I can describe it)(oh, and did not mean sexually). Eric was over the top, I think he was about to spontaneously combust from energy! No sh#T! How the kit was not in peices I have no idea. His solo was litteraly like a freight train! In the begining of Elijah they made it heavy and funky with the drum beat from 'Slow Ride". I like the change up, a lot! Man, no kidding it was just fantastic. The crowd was mesmerised and when it was done they just came running to get CDs, DVDs and meet the guys. The fans were just gushing with praise and even the employess of the club bought merchandise and said that this is the best band they had ever seen(and the have seen hundreds!!). Great job guys!! What a treat!! Hangin' with every one at dinner and before and after the show was just plain fun!! Nancy and I had a friggin' BLAST!!!thanx! ps Nanc says "Jack Daniels is poison" Hmmm... some how, she still managed to have a good time though. lol |

Derringer is confirmed as being on the bill with the PTB next weekend at the Expo Center, which is located on the South Floriduh Fair Grounds, in W. Palm Beach. The event is part of a big biker rally. I contacted Chuck Ruff, who played drums for Pat for about a year back in the early 80`s. Chuck lives in Reno and now has his own local band. He knows the owners of the Reno venue real well and is really looking forward to saying "Hi!" to PT again. Chuck has also worked with Edgar & Johnny Winter, Derringer, and many others. I did see Edgar W. a few weeks ago and he`s going as strong as ever and has a sssmokin' band backing him up. Edgar has changed up his tune "Frankenstein" quite a bit! It`s a lot longer now and he`s changed a lot parts and added a whole bunch of new stuff to it. It`s still "Frankenstein", but it`s different, if ya can understand what I`m saying. It`s called "Frankenstien" because Edgar adds parts and moves older parts around, like the monster. Aw'ight I`m outta here,... for now! S'later, JH P.S. Hey Rich, are the guys gonna have thier new CD, "....and the horse you rode in on", available next weekend? (Please, Please, Please) |

I forgot to ask if anyone could answer this question for me...If Pat sold out his rights to these releases long ago, is he getting ANY of the profits from these new releases? I'd really like to know, and I really hope he is getting SOMETHING! After all, nobody would be making a dime if he hadn't created it all in the first place! Also, it's a bummer there are no bonus tracks on any of these new releases...There has GOT to be some killer unreleased stuff from those old days in the big studios that didn't make it to the final mix... |

Strat I think Polydor owns the publishing rights to all the PT stuff during the Polydor years. I'm sure he makes something off of each CD sold, but he would make alot more if he actually owned his own recordings (the masters). It's good to see Majestic sticking to the strict detail as the original LPs. I've never liked it when these artists re-release their back catalog as REMASTERED and add some additional bonus songs (demos, unreleased material)...that stuff should be saved for the box sets. Just my 2 cents. I'd like to see a 3 hour DVD of PT discussing his entire career with live footage of the PT band mixed in. That would be cool! |

To much fun last night in Concord with Pat and the Boys and TLo! Sounds like they had too much fun in Reno too! Very small crowd last night as Pat put it "what an intimate crowd we have". Opened with Hwy. 61 and went in to the usual songs, I am so tired right now I can't even remember what songs! Got home about 2:30a and here at work already, it is going to be a struggle today! Pat, TLo (Tony), Ben, Mark, Mike and Sal and Noah thanks for everything, we had a great time. I think I going to make this a minimum day, I am beat, and had one to many Irish Coffees! |

Wouldn't it be cool to see him cover the likes of Robin Trower (Messin' The Blues comes to mind), Rick Derringer (Rock and Roll Hoochie Koo), and Gary Moore (Shapes Of Things)!!! I know, I know. We want new original Travers. Me Too!!! But he does do covers so damn well, doesn't he! |

Hey Strat, Not sure the source of this, but not too long ago, I saw on this message board that Pat stated that he gets paid for the publishing of these remastered releases. Universal (who bought Polydor years back) owns the rights to the original master tapes. It seems that Pat unfortunately does not have any say on whether these get released or not. That is up to Universal. I remember reading a John Waite interview regarding his back catalog (along with the Babys back catalog) being reissued by OneWay Records. John was quite pissed at not getting any money from the sales of these remastered reissued CDs and as a result of this, whished they were never released. So in short, Pat does benefit with publishing money and maintains a "shop presence" at the same time. That in conjunction with some selective touring can sustain an artist quite well. Not to mention this website, which is crucial these days. Thanks Again to Ed for all he does. -one of the coolest web guys I feel like I know. |

Life doesn't suck....it might not be fair most of the time, but that's the way it goes for everyone. Ed, I hope whatever's bugging your ass and complicating matters for you eventually goes away. We're here for you buddy...you've got lots of "family" here...I think you know that! At least I hope you know that! Take care...things will turn around for you before you know it. Things happen for a reason, and sometimes those reasons aren't quite so obvious at first. Hang in there! And as always...PTB is King! |

Life Sucks. But then you get drunk and go to a Zepagain show and all of a sudden life don't suck quite as much as it did before. Thanks Steve! Another Awesome Zep Show! Lookin' forward to Fireball next Friday! |

I was just over at Eric`s website and it shows a Ormand Beach PTB gig on the 21st (next Friday). Ormand Beach is about 5 miles north of Daytona. I`ll try to make it if I can get some travel time off from work on that day. |

Subject: Catholic Girls A train hits a bus load of Catholic school girls and they all perish. They are all in heaven trying to enter the pearly gates past St. Peter. St. Peter asks the first girl, "Jessica, have you ever had any contact with a penis?" She giggles and shyly replies, "Well… I once touched the head of one with the tip of my finger." St. Peter says, "OK, dip the tip of your finger in The Holy Water and pass through the gates." St. Peter asks the next girl the same question, "Jennifer have you ever had any contact with a penis?" The girl is a little reluctant, but replies, "Well... I once I fondled one." St. Peter says, "OK, dip your whole hand in The Holy Water and pass through the gate." All of a sudden there is a lot of commotion in the line of girls - with some pushing and shoving - and one girl manages to get all the way to the front of the line. When she reaches the front of the line St. Peter says, "Lisa! What seems to be the rush?" To which Lisa replies, "If I'm gonna have to gargle that Holy Water, I damn sure want to do it before Tiffany has to stick her ass in it." |

Thanks to everyone else for their thoughts and concerns... I appreciate it very much! Thankfully I've managed to weather several ominus and quite threatening storms lately. "The pain that you suffer is such a crime.... But it'll heal with time." |

......unless PT were to do something with 'Live! Go for what you know' as Cheap Trick did with 'Live at Budokan'...take the 1CD release and re-release it in it's original complete show as a 2CD set. We all know PT played "life in london" during that concert. That live PT album REALLY needs an overhaul. |

Brian Yeah, I know what you mean, but there are some albums that should be left as is. For example, 'Dark Side of the Moon' or 'Led Zeppelin IV'. |

Quote:It's good to see Majestic sticking to the strict detail as the original LPs. I've never liked it when these artists re-release their back catalog as REMASTERED and add some additional bonus songs (demos, unreleased material)...that stuff should be saved for the box sets. Just my 2 cents.
Hmm, interesting take. I actually do like it when there are bonus tracks that have something to do with the original album, either extra songs that didn't make it on the original album, demos, or live songs from the same era. Gives me a good reason to shell out my $$ on something I've already bought 2-3 times already! TCF, thanks for the report! Sounds like a good time was had by all! And finally, Ed, I hope to see you at Paladino's tonight, and hope our show cheers you up a bit! Remember, it's "Don't sweat the petty things, and don't pet the sweaty things!" Cheers! Steve Z |

No, Bette, it was ED's ominous note! Strat -- good question on the compensation issue. Pat deserves to be as wealthy as possible. Randal |
