It's only been a month since the last shows I went to, but any hint of some shows here in Florida? Pinellas County would be nice, but will travel.
I love road trips.

Are you going this time, Steve? I still have an extra Gold VIP ticket for the San Diego show -- $399 with good seats, a gold commemorative ticket or badge and some other swag -- I think maybe a reception but I'll have to double-check. Amazing enough, I haven't found anyone who wants to pay the price! And Cream is going for $3200 huh? hmm. Well, Grace expressed interest even though she's never been much of a rock fan. She heard me talking about Queen so maybe she's the candidate.

It is with the saddest of hearts that I must pass on the following news. Please join me in remembering a great icon of the entertainment community.

The Pillsbury Doughboy died yesterday of a yeast infection and trauma complications from repeated pokes in the belly. He was 71.

Doughboy was buried in a lightly greased coffin.

Dozens of celebrities turned out to pay their respects, including Mrs.Butterworth, Hungry Jack, the California Raisins, Betty Crocker, the Hostess Twinkies, and Captain Crunch. The grave site was piled high with flours. Aunt Jemima delivered the eulogy and lovingly described Doughboy as a man who never knew how much he was kneaded.

Doughboy rose quickly in show business, but his later life was filled with turnovers.
He was not considered a very smart cookie, wasting much of his dough on half-baked schemes. Despite being a little flaky at times he was still a crusty old man and was considered a roll model for millions.

Doughboy is survived by his wife, Play Dough, two children, John Dough and Jane Dough, plus they had one in the oven. He is also survived by his
elderly dad, Pop Tart.

The funeral was held at 3:50 for about 20 minutes.

It was sunny and 70 here when I got back from Cleveland, and now my beloved rain is threatening to rinse the dry streets of San Diego. These weather "forecasters" here are morons -- they make a HUGE deal about impending rain, calling it StormWatch 2006, and we get about three hours of drizzle. I need some RAIN to properly mourn Mr. Puff-n-Stuff -- gREG knows what I mean! and a small brush fire . . .

Hey Hooked,

CNN reported that the Pilsbury Doughboy had spent his last few years hanging around with Krusty The Clown getting baked and that his "habit" was well known in the entertainment industry, but that he hid it well from the public and his fans. Of course Krusty denies this but he doesn't have the best reputation, so you never can tell if he's lying or not. Have you heard anything about this? Hard to believe it's true. He just didn't seem like the type. Although he DID giggle all the time and had that silly grin. Man, you just never know...

.This was sent to me today.
• Charlie Hodge (not Charlie Haj) 71; Former Backup Singer, Guitarist and Towel Boy for Elvis Presley Dies March, 6 2006

Hodge died Friday at a hospital in Knoxville, Tenn. For the last 15 years, Hodge performed in tributes to Presley at Memories Theater in Pigeon Forge, Tenn., with Presley impersonator Lou Vuto. Theater officials said Hodge had been undergoing treatment for lung cancer. Hodge met Presley when they served in the Army. After their service, Hodge worked with Presley and lived at Graceland for 17 years. "We're all Elvis fans who work here, and Charlie made us feel so close to Elvis," Vuto said. "When you hung out with Charlie, it was like you were hanging out with Elvis and Charlie." The Alabama native's musical career also included singing with a number of quartets, including one with gospel great Bill Gaither.
Sorry to see such an influence go. Dread Zeppelin will be observing a moment of silence tonight here at Graceland West at 6:00 pm PST.

Peace, Betsy

I'd recommend anything by Pat! PT = MC 2 is his latest and has alot of cool stuff on it. Travers and Appice released two studio and one live CD, and they all have good tunes on them. Go For What You Know is a must-have live show from the late 70's, and there are plenty of great studio albums but my favorites are Putting it Straight, Heat in the Street and Crash and Burn. Stand back and see what other hammerheads have to say!

Steve, how was your show last night? Vin found me on My Space and said he knows ya. Hope it was fun

gREG, Bruce - don't worry it's just rain. The sky is not falling and the world isn't going to end.

Explanation: Rain develops when growing cloud droplets become too heavy to remain in the cloud and as a result, fall toward the surface as rain. Rain can also begin as ice crystals that collect each other to form large snowflakes. As the falling snow passes through the freezing level into warmer air, the flakes melt and collapse into rain drops.

It occurs naturally in most parts of the world and is actually a good thing.

Thanks Ed!! I was actually in CA at the Dunes riding quads w/ a group of friends.....it was so windy that every vehicle got stuckin the sand!!! But the wind dyed down late Friday night so we rode.....awesome. Up early Sat morn....sun shining.....so we rode again and would figure out the stuck vehicles later......then the rain came.....and came.....and came.....then let up.....then rained so hard it about blew the RV over!! But this morning came BLUE skies and warm weather....I cranked up the Travers/Appice house of blues CD.....and the vehicles popped right out (rain=hard sand) and we rode some more. The moral of this tale is Crank the TRAVERS.....and all is right w/ the world. hey look, a flower just bloomed.....think I'll run over it w/ my quad!!!!!

Hey gREG,

Do you have an independent CD store close by? They'll happily order it for you and it'll only take a week or two tops to get it in for you. That's what I did on the first PT Power Trio disc, and you know what? Ever since then they've had every new PT release in stock when it came out, including the TNA stuff! Hell, it's better to give your hard earned money to the little independent guys instead of the big box stores anyway. It'll make you so happy, you'll see another little flower grow! But don't run over it with your quad...
