Rich, the guys are playing in the town of Pinellas Park, which is actually right next to St. Petersburg, at a club called Carlies. Mitch and Kim only live about 10 minutes from the place. I`m driving up to thier place sometime Sunday morning. We`ll watch some football, eat, drink, and be merry, and then head on over to the club. It would be cool if Rick and Eric joined us at Mitch and Kim`s place. I think I`ll call them and see if they will. I do have to be at work the next day so I`ll have to drive a couple of hours after the show, grab a motel room, and come into work on Monday a couple of hours late. S'later, JH |

Got a question for anyone living in Florida... Was there such an event back on April 14, 1979 called: The Florida World Music Festival? If so, was it at the Tangerine Bowl in Orlando? I came across a KILLER Master video of a concert that I'm assuming is from THIS show. It's got the folowing bands: Aeosmith, Ted Nugent, Cheap Trick, Blackfoot, Brownsville Station, and Mahagony Rush. I think this is the last gig Joe Perry did with Aerosmith. I've got someone in LA who's really gonna do this one up nice on DVD! |

Hi everyone!! Haven't been on here in a long time, but I wanted to wish a very special Freight Train a Happy Birthday. Hope it's a great one, Eric, and I hope you can spend it with your friends and family rather than out playing a gig. Wish we were there to help you celebrate. Tell Angela I said "Hi" and give Haley a big hug from me! I hear your playing in Pinellas. We used to live there! If you see Mitch,Kim,John, and Julie....say Hi for us!!!! Wish we were there!! Hope everyone has been having a nice Labor Day weekend! ~~Nancy~~ |

Happy Labor Day Hammerheads- Have been away from this board most of the summer- considering this is the place of 'worship' and news for PT fans I find it odd that people choose this 'holy site' to wage silly personal feuds. 'nuff said about that! There used to be a great music magazine called Rolling Stone- now there is this pale imitation that has the Olsen Twins on it's cover and does special 'greatest list' issues from time to time. They just released the ' 100 Greatest guitarist of all time' issue. Now you tell me how PT was totally overlooked and they even ranked Jerry Garcia a notch above Jeff Beck!! What an insult. I shot off a terse e-mail to them for forgetting our hero and invite all Hammerheads to do the same- letters@rollingstone.com Maybe if enough of us voice our displeasure they will remember one of the all time greatest is still alive and rockin'!! Peace all- R&R |

Hey Tony D, Eddie Wilner (OneWay Records) just responded to my query of upcoming PT twofers on CD (Pat Travers/Makin' Magic and Radioactive/Black Pearl) and he told me that they have been pushed up to sometime in 2004 by Universal (owners of the master tapes). Did he tell you when in 2004? -he also said that they were to be released in limited edition signature slipcases (just like Putting It Straight/Heat In The Stret). |

Ed, when you "watch your back" you'll find us die-hards standing right behind ALL of you guys. Last word to the, umm, WISE, save the negative crap for all the websites of bands who deserve it -- if you've ever had a chat with PT his ownself you'll know that negativity is not his bag . . . Sounds like PT's on a good upswing! Lookin forward to lots of good things from our favorite veteran shredder in years to come In the DVD: Ginbel's first (I think) PT shows AND "Secretary" from last night - a weird but cool movie - funny, that seems pretty typical of Jimmy Spader, don't it?? In the Glass to my right: actually, it's a Magnum Heineken in the fridge at home waiting for a corkscrew (use imagination) On my mind: $ 1 million Professional Liability Insurance (needed to get paid on new job - ain't that a BICK) On the stove: uh-oh!!! MissingMars Yeah, Eddie (One Way Records)stated the same thing...PT Debut/Makin' Magic would be released in early next year. But he didn't mention Radioactive/Black Pearl...word has it that it's going to be Radioactive/Hot Shot...and that Black Pearl will be released on it's own. I guess since it contains "I La La La Love You" from Valley Girl that it can sell reasonably well on it's own. These guys (One Way Records) keep an eye on eBay so they know that a REMASTERED 'Black Pearl' will sell VERY well on it's own. Though, I don't understand the logic of this song being left off PTs latest 'Best Of 20th Century Millenium' CD. |

Hey missing mars, want me to call mars and ask him to do a gig? Reno, Peppermill in November or The Golden Phoenix (the old Flamingo Hilton)? Randall, I bought a 12- pack of Heine in your honor, expect them to be guzzled quickly. We don't sip in Lake Tahoe. PT's "In the End" is driving me crazy - Monica, please tell your wonderful husband that we are dying to get the all new, all original, no covers, all songs written and produced by the magician himself Patrick Henry Travers, the Toronto boy on the new label. Let's have some real fun on this site!!!Tell Pat I will storm the Warner BROS. Hey Tony D, Not only would Radioactive/Hot Shot be awesome, but preferred over Radioactive/Black Pearl. I love all of these albums, but the Hot Shot vinyl never sounded clean enough for me. Especially the last song on each side (Hot Shot and Night Into Day). They just sound fuzzy. To get it digitally mstered to CD from the master tapes would be the best. |

I'd like to see PT release a Box Set (or at least 2CD-set) of never-released, rarities, demos, outtakes, etc from his Polydor days. He's gotta have SOME stuff that was never released. Especially considering the era of 'Crash and Burn' through 'Black Pearl' where PT was calling all the shots and Polydor was paying for studio time. But PT needs to do a full-blown U.S. tour. I'd like to see him go out on tour with someone like Rik Emmitt. THAT would be cool. |

Hey Tony D, A boxed set of rarities and outtakes/demos would be awesome. Maybe even dress up the packaging real nice with signatures, photos, and linear notes from PT himself. I'm gettin' jiggy with it just thinking about it. Not only does he need to do a full blown tour, but he needs to release a full blown CD of new original material to coincide with the tour. Heck while we're at it, throw in some official tour merchandise and we're all set. I think things are looking up for Mr. Travers anyway. With OneWay re-issuing on CD, Putting It Straight/Heat In The Street and hopefully next year Radioactive/Hot Shot along with Majestic Rock re-issuing Pat Travers, Makin'Magic, Putting It Straight, and Heat In The Street on CD, at least some of his back catalog will have some shop/street presence. Wow can you say "run on sentence". As always ROCKS!!! |

Actually, as for all of Ginbel's efforts, I'm quite thankful. His Polydork versions of Heat in the Street and Putting It Straight are quite stellar. They even live up to their claim of sounding better than the Japanese Polydor CD releases. The master tape hiss is gone. They also sound better than the recent OneWay reissue! Thanks Again Ginbel (Rich) Let's not forget the radio program "Black Pearl Live" and the "Live Solo Acoustic" CDs as well as a number of steller DVDs. "Everyones Got There Own Point of View, It's Not Always Easy to Know Just What To Do". This should be on the name that tune board, but in the air of turning this board back into a PT family read the lines. Name That Tune!!! We've all been at fault at one time or another. If there is negativity just ignore it, don't comment and don't float that boat. I've learned. Now crank up your favorite PT tune and quit bickering, it gets to us all. I've learned. I've learned. The Portland show on 9/23 was great. Show started about 9pm with a local band. Not bad, but they played for an hour. Then there was about a 45 minute wait for PT. PTB came on about 10:45 and rocked until after midnight. Worth the wait. Nice to get to see Eric and Rick play. They really pound it out. Could feel Eric's playing reverberatin' off my chest. PT was great. Some of the older songs really had some punch in them. I don't think he deviated from what he's been playing recently. He did play a tune off the Power Trio CD. Played about an hour and half, but I could always listen to more! Only mishap of night came when standing under the back balcony during the warm up band, someone from above decided to hurl on a couple standing next to us. Ouch! PT, Eric and Rick stuck around to sign autographs, CD's, DVD's. By this time it was getting close to 1am. Looking back, should bought a DVD and brought my camera. Big dummy. Wow, two shows here in 9 months. Could only be better if I lived in California. Speaking of DVD's, what is the best DVD of the PTB? The NYE/AZ show? |

There was a show called "Guitar Wars" in Tokyo on August 30. The players included John Paul Jones from Led Zeppelin, Paul Gilbert from Mr.Big, Nuno Bettencourt from Extreme and Steve Hackett from Genesis. I was not there, but apparently, Paul & Nuno played a PT classic "Gettin' Betta" as an opening number! This show was taped and will be released through Universal Music in December. Gill, thank you for your email. Majestic Rock, UK release the first 4 PT albums on CD in October. If those titles sell well, PT must hit over there soon. See you there, Ed, and anyone else! TCF, you guys making the trip down south? Randy, definitely let me know when you have that show done, I'd really like to see that! Cheers! Steve Z |

Yeah the Three's Company John Ritter. Sad. I also never cared for Johnny Cash's music as I was never much of a Country Music fan. Come to think of it I never really cared for Three's Co either. But those guys really made a lot of people happy. And, in a way I guess you can judge someone's life by how many people they touched (in positive way) and by how many people they made happy. It's just a sad sad day so far.... But I'm sure PT will Rock My Blues Away in just a matter of hours. Someone should inform CalTech that there might be some Seismic activity this evening!!!! |

Another absolutely ROCKIN' show by Mr Travers last night! Here's the set, best I can recall: HIGHWAY 61 VOODOO CHILE HOOKED ON MUSIC LIFE IN LONDON GETTIN BETTA MAKIN' MAGIC ROCK & ROLL SUSIE INSIDE LOOKING OUT SNORTIN WHISKEY BOOM BOOM BORN UNDER A BAD SIGN STATESBORO BLUES Simon Wright sat in on drums for the last 2 songs, and played great, despite a few missed cues here & there! Overall, the show was much tighter than when I saw Pat with Wishbox back in Jan. It sounds like they're getting more comfortable with Pat's material. I still prefer Eric & Rick, givn the choice, but it was still quite good, and having the extra guitars filled out the sound quite nicely (although LOUDLY! Right Ed? Ed, can ya hear me?). Before he played Inside Looking Out, Pat introduced it by saying that he had to sign another sucker, indie album deal, and did an album of covers, although Aynsley Dunbar played on it, who he likes to play with. Hmm, not the greatest way to push your new album, especially when it's the one you're trying to sell after the show! Oh well, Pat will be Pat... Ed, it was nice to get to hang with you & your (much) better half! To bad you had to be a tee-totaller! Ok, designated driver is a smart thing! Looking forward to the Coach House! Cheers! Steve Z |

TraversChickFan -- No, I still haven't heard from your husband, I am still interested in chatting with him about Dream Theater and other similar style bands. I also saw the Fate's Warning/Dream Theater/Queensryche show in Baltimore about a month or so ago and it was quite good, and they did do the cool encores together including "Don't Get Fooled Again". Can anyone tell me who the guitarists for Ryche were on the most recent tour? I know that one of the original ones (Wilton or DeGarmo) left some time ago, didn't know if they had reunited or what, zactly. And WHO was playing lead guitar for Heart recently? I heard Mike Inez but I missed the announcement for the guitarist - help?? Hope everyone is doing well, Randal, glad to hear things are stabilizing, Cindy, miss chattin' with you, OneChad, glad to see a glimpse of you lately, tell Lori I said "hey!", Rich & Nancy, look forward to seeing you November 1st at Jaxx where PT is gonna rock the sleepy town of Springfield, VA!! JohnHowe, a fond hello to you and please tell Mitch & Kim (of Mitch & Kim fame) and Julie (of Julie fame) that I said "what's up?" I've been busy offline but spent a few hours catching up on posts, will try to stay up to date ;-) Peace and rock everyone! Carl |

Hey Purple, Regarding your questions...Chris DeGarmo left the band some time ago. He resurfaced to help in the songwriting on the latest 'Ryche release called "Tribe", but did not go on tour. Micheal Wilton is still in the band, and the 2nd guitar slot was filled by a fellow named Mike Stone. He worked with Geoff Tate on Tate's solo release that came out last year. The guitarist on the latest Heart tour was Gilbey Clark. You may remember him as Izzy Stradlin's replacement in Guns & Roses. Hope this helps ya! And as always...PTB is King! |

On the subject of John Ritter...I remember watching Three's Company on the Tuesday evening before Thanksgiving eve '82 while my friend and I were trying to figure out how to sneak in a tape recorder AND camera for the Aersomith/Pat Travers concert for the following evening...That was my first time seeing Aerosmith and PT...Funny thing is that I can still remember someone throwing something on stage at Pat and PT just grabbed it and whipped it back at him...lol!...He didn't play any Cream cover that night, but he did play a killer jam of "Crash and Burn." btw, has the RIAA sued any more 12 year-old little girls lately for downloading music? What a joke. |

JUST WANTED TO ADD A LITTLE REMEMBRANCE TO JOHN RITTER. HE WAS THE GUY IN MY BOOK THAT STARTED THE WHOLE COMEDIC SITCOM SHOW TYPE PROGRAMMING AND I WANT TO SAY. A LOT OF LOVE AND PRAYERS TO HIS FAMILY AND I THINK IN SOME WAYS MR. RITTER WAS A PART OF ALL OF US EVEN IF YOU REALLY DID NOT KNOW THE REAL NAME OF JACK TRIPPER. HE WAS A LEGEND AND WILL ALWAYS BE IN OUR HEARTS. WE WERE LEAVING THE TONIGHT SHOW AND PASSING THE WB STUDIOS WERE THEY WERE IN PRODUCTION OF THE SHOW ON THURSDAY AND NOTICED ALOT OF EMERGENCY VEHICLES SURROUNDING THE STUDIO AND REALIZED LATER THAT WHAT WAS GOING ON. ALWAYS REMEMBER EVERYDAY AND EVERYNIGHT KISS YOUR KIDS AND YOUR WIFE OR HUBBY WHICH EVER IT MAY BE ALWAYS LOVE THEM AND LET THEM KNOW YOU LOVE THEM. LIVE YOUR LIFE WITH LAUGHTER AND FUN EACH AND EVERYDAY. BE THE BEST YOU CAN BE AND MAKE EVERYDAY THE BEST DAY BECAUSE YOU JUST NEVER KNOW. I ALSO WANT TO LET YOU KNOW THAT ALL PT FANS ARE FILLED WITH HEARTS AS BIG AS THE EMPIRE STATE BUILDING AND THAT THEY ARE THE BEST FANS EVER AND i ALSO WANT TO SAY THAT WHETHER IT BE RICK,ERIC,WISHBOX,REX ROGERS OR ANY OTHER PT EXPERIENCE IT IS ONE A LARGE HAPPY FAMILY THAT EVEN WHEN THEY DONT LIKE SOMETHING OR SOMEONE WE ALWAYS GET OVER IT AND CONTINUE THE LEGACY. PT WILL ALWAYS BE THERE FOR HIS FANS AND UNTIL THE DAY HE HANGS IT UP WILL ALWAYS CARE ABOUT EACH AND EVERY PERSON THAT HAS EVER BEEN A PART OF THE MAGIC. THANKS TO ALL PT FANS FOR BEING, LIKE ED WOULD SAY YUZZZZZ GUYZZZZZ!!!!! |

TonyD-I think that's right. In reference to your 1982 PT/Aerosmith experience-I saw them for the first time about three weeks later in Greensboro, NC. It's so nice to see Aerosmith turn things around even though their current music doesn't pack much punch. They were terrible in 1982. Pat blew them away and the place was nearly empty before Aerosmith finished their set. |

Hey Bry Guy, what's an "indie album deal"? You cracked me up so hard laughing on that. Please explain. TonyLo, wow great heartfelt words. Working with Pat as much as you do has rubbed off on you. You're a pretty good, gal, darn, decent dude. I will call you when I have a plan. Hey dare to the rest of ya'. |

Blur...Aerosmith SMOKED the night I seen them. The two new guitar players with them drew circles around Perry/Whitford. PT was AWESOME too! Though I didn't think much of Joey Jelf playing harmonica on "Life in London." |

Just got an email from majesticrock.com and it looks as though they will be releasing the first four PT albums on newly REMASTERED CDs in two weeks!!!! I asked them about Radioactive and Black Pearl and they replied that "they're already in the works"!! Wow, a REMASTERED Radioactive and Black Pearl...how cool! |

TonyD-you must have caught them on a sober night for Tyler. That period of time is when Tyler passed out on stage or something like that where they actually had to stop the show. I distinctly remember their backdrop curtain looking like something from my high school auditorium. It made me feel good to see them about ten years later just absolutely rocking the house. They've definitely seen the very highest and lowest you can go in the rock business. |

Blur...I think the "passing out" gig wasn't until '84 it happened in Springfield, IL when Perry/Whitford rejoined. In June '84 I seen Rush w/ Gary Moore opening...two nights later Moore leaves and the PT band open for Rush...bummer I missed PT by 2 nights! In '95 I came across this one dude on some PT discussion board called "Ed the Edge"...he sent me a frickin' K-I-L-L-E-R copy of PT from the Black Pearl tour on cassette. It had "crash and burn" on it...man, did it sound awesome! It's not the one that's on ebay. btw, what ever happened to that "Ed the Edge" guy? I wonder if he still has that Black Pearl show? |
