Interesting "quote" Richard. Perhaps my favorite line from a PT song comes immediately after yours in the very same song:

"A day's heat gives way to a liquid night"

The song is Comin' Up The Hard Way

Of course this song has never been released and I don't think it's ever been done live... so I don't think many people would be able to answer that one... or at least I hope they couldn't. If you know what I mean.

Hey Ed, the bonus portion of your 3 way question is "I Just Want To Celebrate" which is the Rare Earth cover Pat and Glenn Hughes did. Ironically, if you remember a year or so ago someone asked what 5 songs they would like to see Pat cover, and this one was on my list! The Gods have smiled down on me!

Ed
Posted on Thursday, May 09, 2002 - 11:10 am:

Bill - you got the bonus portion correct! But I couldn't possibly award bonus points for partial answers.

I remember when Pat was recording this song with Glenn - The first time I heard it was over at Glenn's house fresh out of the studio... It immediately became one of my favorites :)

I just looked over here for the first time. Richard, do you know Kevin Crider? He's on old friend of mine from high school. We used to be in a band together back then, and probably half of our set was PT covers! We used to open our shows with Rock & Roll Susie & Hooked on Music. Also did Stevie, Hammerhead, Boom Boom & Snortin Whiskey! What a kick to see his name pop up here!

Cheers!

Hey Richard,

I haven't...yet...but then again I've had zero time to investigate my hunches. It's been bugging me though. I can usually figure these things out rather quickly. I mean I don't know N-E one who listens to more PT than me.

But...

Here it is 12:20am or thereabouts and I'm just settling in for the evening(morning or whatever it is) and I don't think I'll take the brief time between now and when my eyes close for the night to check on my suspisions.

Regards.

Hey RR, that's not the 3rd part of the trilogy, although I do enjoy watching "PT rock this lazy town".....(R&R Susie). The 3rd of the trilogy is "Live! Go For What You Know", because the energy on that disc is enough to cook breakfast with, and still have enough left over to light your cigarette or spliff after you're finished eating! And possibly enough still to run the dishwasher to clean those dirty plates so you can just sit back and rock out to the PTB! LOL!

Yes!

I love that tune, as well.

Here's another-

"you've been running to the the bottle, but I can testify that it just won't do...it just ends up making you more blue"

"The pain" that we suffer waiting for another PT CD full of new songs!!

Your batting 1000! It never is what it seems, is it!!

Here's a new one to ponder-

"I've been watching the world just pass me by, but from now on it's gonna be due or die"

These are the lyrics as they appear on a Bob Marley site. Pat's may be slightly different.

Give it a try!

Misty Morning - Bob Marley

Misty mornin', don't see no sun;
I know you're out there somewhere having fun.
There is one mystery - yea-ea-eah - I just can't express:
To give your more, to receive your less.
One of my good friend said, in a reggae riddim,
"Don't jump in the water, if you can't swim."
The power of philosophy - yea-ea-eah - floats through my head
Light like a feather, heavy as lead;
Light like a feather, heavy as lead, yeah.

See no sun! Oh.
Time has come, I want you -
I want you to straighten out my tomorrow! Uh.
I want - I want - I want you - (tomorrow).
Oh, wo-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah!
I want you to straighten out my (tomorrow)!

Misty (morning) mornin', don't see no sun;
I know you're out there somewhere having fun.
Mysteries I just can't express:
How can you ever give your more to receive your less?
Like my good friend said, in a reggae riddim:
"You can't jump - you can't jump in the water, if you can't swim."

I want you (I want you) - I want you to straighten out my today -
My tomorrow - my-my-my - my - my
(I want you to straighten out my tomorrow).
On a misty morning, uh! (I want you to straighten out my tomorrow).
Oh-oh oh-oh-oh-oh!
(I want you to straighten out my tomorrow)
Straighten out my tomorrow - my tomorrow! Need some straightenin' out!
(I want you to straighten out my tomorrow)
Mist! Mm. (I want) Mist! (you to straighten out my tomorrow)
Misty! Oh! (I want you to straighten out my tomorrow)
