Well, y'all...just got home from a pretty amazing evening. Got a rare opportunity to see Patrick Henry Travers tearin' up some standards, flying completely without a parachute.

As you can see if you click the link at the beginning of this thread, PRS Guitars, of which Pat is now an endorsee and proud user, held its annual benefit for a cancer center within Johns Hopkins University here in Baltimore, MD. Pat is in good company in using the amazing PRS guitars, and Paul's rapport with many artists allowed him to pull some amazing local and out-of-town talent together for an all-star jam complete with open bar and buffet food. In addition to our favorite guitarist PT, there were appearances by Dan Toler (of Dickie Betts' Great Southern and the Allman Bros. Band) who smoked the crap out of a lovely PRS Swamp Ash model, Derek St. Holmes (formerly of the "original" Ted Nugent band), Matt Scannell and Keith Kane of Vertical Horizon, and Chuck Brown (of DC-area fame...the Godfather of Go-Go Music), as well as Paul Reed Smith (who's no slouch of a guitarist hisself) and his amazing band and a few other locals filling in on keys. There were auctions of incredible guitars signed by Carlos Santana, Dave Navarro, David Bowie, Don Felder, Ricky Scaggs & band, a PRS Private Stock guitar designed by you as well as a recording session with Paul, a NAMM VIP trip for 2 and many other amazing goodies.

A whole lot of money was raised for a great cause and a good time was had by all. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to talk to Pat (my GF was more than ready to leave by the end of the show) but I saw a few people standing backstage with him who I assume might be his daughter & son. Hopefully they had a nice little trip seeing the "old man" jamming with some great players.

I'd write more but I have to get up to go to work tomorrow....aaargh!

Carl

Ed: I live an hour from Baltimore and just heard about this. Can ANYONE confirm that Pat (and for that matter, the *mighty* PTB) is actually playing the event at the Recher Theater tomorrow night in Towson, MD (suburb of Baltimore) so we know for sure he's going to be there? Can't beleive I didn't know about this before!
