Hi all,

I just got this e-mail from Lisa over at Rockforever.com. Now this sounds like fun!

I'll venture a guess that PT's never played in Hawaii before....

The big news of concern to your viewers will probably be the VH1 Classic special that is being taped. There is a lot of information linked off this index page. As usual, feel free to paraphrase anything that we have written on the site so long as you provide a link to this page off your web site or news board.

Hey, new to the board, but a huge Pat Travers fan. Will be there Saturday at the Boardwalk. Lookin forward to Rock and Party with PTB & fans.

It's been about two years since I last saw PTB in Morgan Hill, and it was great, but a short set.

I love all his music, but was wondering what he might be playing....new? old? So much great songs to pick from, how will he do it?? Any idea??

VOCR is a totally cool concept!! Gotta Love it!! I have never heard so many great singers all in one evening! It's also very cool to see Pat play lead on all those Classic Rock tunes.

Bette - my e-mail address is Ed@pattravers.com

I spoke with Bruce and he still has hopes for another NYE show!!! Go Bruce! Go Bruce! Go Bruce!

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone up in Sacramento!!!!!

I also have many other pictures (mostly from Europe). I just can't seem to find the time to update them. Sorry Andre, Andries & Wilma and all the others who faithfully sent them to me very expeditiously. Hopefully within the next 2 weeks I'll get all caught up.

Hey JFBEAU, you are not the only Milwaukeean who frequents this board. Don't hold your breath for a Milwaukee show or for that matter anywhere remotely near south eastern Wisconsin. A snow ball has a better chance of making it to hell. The last time Pat played here was in the early 90's on the School of Hard Knocks tour. Hope for something in the north woods. But then again like last year, the show will probably be cancealed. Sorry for the negativity people. The truth hurts sometimes. Still haven't taken the solo disc out of my cd player. Man, that disc to too cool.

Hey TD,

Check the discography link off PT's home page. When you drill down to the albums, some of the songs titles are linked to lyrics. For example, Rock And Roll Suzie and Stevie lyrics are available under the Makin' Magic link.

If you have questions about some that are not posted. We'll help you figure 'em out. Many of us are muscians and know what you are going through.

Anyone going to or know anything about Pats show on 12-7-01 at Easyriders in San Jose, CA? I heard its going to be a all acoustic set. I'm sure it's gonna rock. This will be a killer week as I am going to see Michael Schenker on Wednesday, then Pat on Friday. Hope to see some of you there.

P.S. Anybody ever put together any of Pats lyrics on a web page? My band would like to maybe cover some songs but we're kinda sketchy on some lines. Any help would be appreciated.

P.S.S. Also, Pat is the Classic Rock Artist of the Week on The Bone 107.7, our local Classic Rock Station. You can listen at www.1077thebone.com, or call in requests at 1-888-303-BONE. Everyone should check it out and request a song, let's get Pat some much deserved airplay.

Thanks

Howdy all! Well we finally recouped enoughed energy to post again! GREAT show at Jaxx on Saturday!! Pat is changing up his riffs a little. Sounds great! I'm not musically inclined enough to know what he's doing, but I like it. Rick's playing is phenominal!!!!!!! Rick was getting a lot of attention too. He was playing the hell out of the bass! Nancy of course was lovin' life with that since she is a big bass head. Eric... what can you say, stellar as usual, even with an injured knuckle. Some guys standing near me were just amazed at his speed! EVERYONE was commenting on Pat picking these guys to play with them. They were saying this is the best line up he has had and that they were a perfect combination! Naturally we agree. It was really nice to see the band again and hang after going so long without. We were starting to have withdrawl symptoms. We found ourselves listening to Helen Ready. Well, okay that was a lie. Still we missed them and we will again till the next time. Just really killer musicians and stellar people to boot! We hung out with Ian too and were glad to see him again, always makes us laugh. We missed ya Carl, guess you couldn't make it. Jaxx of course was hospitable as usual and the food was excellent. Not sure how many people were there, but it was a decent crowd and they definately enjoyed the show!! Thanx for the good times guys!!! Nancy says hi too! CYA Rich

Hi everyone! Seeing PTB in FL was a blast! Great time, what I can remember, lol lol, kidding, I remember it ALL :) Nice to finally meet Kim and Mitch, and John Howe. I couldn't believe it when I heard Monica was going to be singing on Elijah! What a treat that was! and the place they played at, outdoors at Citywalk, you can get your drinks and walk all over, I had to try the margarittas, no long islands this roadtrip. Thursday night at a jam night was excellent seeing 7th Fold, Roadtrips fun? hell yeah. nice meeting Angela too! I will get the photo's posted and get them up soon. I will put them up and let you know when they are there, and will just keep adding the rest to get caught up from the previous shows I seen. I didn't make the chat last wednesday as I was on my way to Florida, not sure if anyone showed up? the weather here is unreal, this is freakin' summer time for this Canadian!! Haven't seen it mentioned, so if a double post, my apologies. Rockforever.com has available a CD by artists from the Voices of Classic Rock benefitting the Red Cross. Two freebie mp3s are at http://www.rockforever.com/features/Battlehymn/battlehymn.html and have credit listing our man as participating, I'm listening trying to hear PT and it's not real evident from the dl page if PT is on these particular tunes or not. Credits list PT though, so he's on this CD somewhere. 'Battle Hymn of the Republic' + 'America the Beautiful'. Anyone have this CD and can report PT involvement and detailed track appearances? Is PT on these downloads? Also a quick plug for the mp3.com PT Voices of Classic Rock page, VOCR PT BBOGTL + SW mp3s, apparently Biloxi MS, from Spring, '01, are available http://artists.mp3s.com/artists/238/pat_travers.html Disclaimer - thiswriterisnotaffiliatedw/pattraversormp3.comhurrybuybeforemidnitetonite! Hey Richard, yes I got your email. I didn't win that auction, but the seller had another copy and contacted me. The cool thing is that I got it at a lower price! It was shipped out to me earlier this week from Canada and I should get it within the next few days. I do intend to send a copy to Ed, but I've already sent him two other articles from the early PT years and I'm waiting for him to post those first. I think Ed is pretty busy at the moment, so I'm not going to add to his workload by sending him additional work until he gets a chance to post the first two articles I sent him. Ed is aware that I also have two more articles to send him once the first two are done. After all four are posted, then I'll send him this one that you mentioned (from the Radio Active era). I'm just trying to keep Ed from going completely bonkers (although I'm probably a little late for that! Ha!). I know that you and I have worked a trade, and I'll honor that as soon as the magazine arrives in the mail. For all the PT faithful...these first four articles I'm talking about are from the early years (from the Debut to Heat In The Street) and will make for some very cool reading once Ed gets them posted. I'm sure Ed will let us all know when they are added to this website. And as always...PTB is KING!

And to add insult to injury, you're such a puss that you don't even leave a name. You're about as brave as that rat bastard Osama that is now hiding in a cave. You're so brave......we all admire you!
Hey Richard, I'd really like to make it to more of the chat sessions, but ever since they were moved to Wednesday nights, it's just not been possible for me to make them much anymore. My schedule allowed for Tuesday chats, but Wednesdays are just not possible for me on most weeks. If they should ever change back to Tuesdays, count me in!
Sorry if the start of this post irritated anyone (other than who it was directed at!)but negative ghost writers are such cowards, that it pisses me off. Hope all the PT faithful have a terrific Christmas, Hannakah or whatever you celebrate. This has been a tough, emotional time since 9/11 for many people. I only hope things get more positive in 2002. And as always...PTB is KING!

Just got back from the Mid Hudson Civic Center in Poughkeepsie NY last night (venue for next weeks VOCR show)were i saw the Trans Siberian Orchestra. I was very surprised at how good this show was seing that i've only ever heard one tune by them. When they turn it up they rock pretty f'n hard. Kinda like Metallica meets the Philharmonic at times. Now i cant wait for next weeks vocr show. Is it just me or do you think Garbage Bin Lid is curled up in the fetal position in a cave crying out "wahh ha ha wahh, please make them stop, i cant hear myself". Hope the bastard gets a bunkerbuster to the friggin head. Dont let your car flags wither, renew them and keep your support high and looking good

Hey all,
I had a great time last weekend at the Boardwalk in Sacramento! I too was surprised that Pat was playing solo. Still a great show, but was kinda expecting to see PT with the B. The last 4 PT shows that I've seen were without Rick and Eric, and I'm really missin' them AND their energy. Never the less, Pat put on one superb performance! Though not quite as intimate as Henderson, it was much more polished. Great seeing Bette (always a barrel of laughs) and meeting up with Scott&Jo again. Loved that Journey soundboard CD Scott, and PT with Glen Hughes...AWESOME!!! Equally cool was seeing an ex-flame of mine from 20 years ago! I must say Kathi, you are as gorgeous as ever! Thanks for comin' and bringing your friend Jeanie (yeeowza!). Sorry, no pics of the show. Just wasn't the place for it. I didn't take any when he played there in April either.
I finally got to see VOCR in Las Vegas last week. What a totally awesome show!!! All those classic singers singing their respective hits, all in one show, and with Pat on guitar. Simply incredible!
Still hoping for a PTB NYE gig! Would make 14 PT shows this year if it happens! YooooooHooooo!!!!!

Hey Mkii, Yeah, as Ginbel27 mentioned, I picked up the CD at the Sac. show. Quality is great. First time I heard "The Fifth". It's a classic. Enjoyed it very much. At the Sac. show he played "Leopold"?? or something like that..what CD (if any) would that be on?

Richard, universal city walk, I'm ready. When will the dates be released?

Well, I finally took out the Acoustic CD and put back Lookin' UP.

It's amazing how he writes....could be a reflection of my own life...For example, Hypnotized could be me before I met my wife so many years ago. (I have to laugh when I hear that song though...reminds me of David Letterman when used to say "I ben HipNoTized".

Lookin' Up fits me this week, especially the line "ya know it takes no guts and you get no glory, waiting for your ship to come"...I gave up a perfectly good job and applied for another position where I work. It'll be different and a lot of work, but plenty of opportunity for success and more money some day. That and we're in the process of buying a house so things are definitely ...

LOOKIN' UP!!!!

Hey 50Mkii, The Black Pearl is an import that Pat sells at the shows and we sell the same on EBay or direct through us. We currently sell 8 PTB CD titles for Pat. To see our selection go to www.ebay.com and search under Pat Travers. These CDs are absolutely killer and you can ask anyone here as to the quality and also view our feedback file on EBay. We also will have PTB DVDs soon. We have been working on these for a while to get the best quality possible. So just be patient all those who already know. Thanx, Rich and Nancy

Went to the Orangevale (Sac) show last night. I have to say it was... somewhat dissapointing. Perhaps, the cancellation of the concert the night before (MSG) influenced this.? Just PT playing ("this is my one-man band") most all of the set with the band prior to his appearance (Floyd to Pio or Pia?) backing him up for the last couple of songs. PT came on stage between 11:35-11:45 (3 other bands played). I left in disappointment around 12:40. So, I do not know for how much longer he played. It was getting late, I really felt the concert wasn't coming together, my appetite was still hungry for my PT fix(just wetted my appetite)... I enjoyed listening to PT's autobiographical accounts as he recounted his heyday prior to every song. Seeing PT is always an inspiration. Last night, as PT put it was a night of "inspirational songs. Can you tell?" I sometimes find it difficult to hear all the words to a song being sung(depends on sound system and other variables), but this time you could really concentrate on every verse of the lyrics from the songs he played. The backing band was nothing much to write home about IMO. They had plenty of equip., but didn't sound that good. Stage presence/personality, playing and chemistry was lacking. The backing band was a poor choice, their lack of rehearsing really showed up. I feel that it effected PT a little as well, band needed to play at a faster tempo, etc.
I suppose I was expecting to see Eric and Rick on stage and the PT band at work. PT's rendition of Magnolia, Elijiah, and Dedication (PT said he only played this song once before live) stood out in my mind as memorable. I do not mean to discount the thought and prep. that can go into putting on an "unplugged" concert especially considering the amount of riffs and soloing PT normally does - this does present its own challenges. I just didn't expect this type of a concert. Has there been a change in the trio line-up I've seen over the last about 2 years or was this intentional?

Hi all Pat Travers fan(natics)

Thinkin back to my first PTB show (party)today. I still remember how great it was. It was back in 78 and i had heard of Pat of course, and had bought my first album by him, but he was the warm up band for Blackmores Rainbow. I was looking forward to his show but had no idea just how fantastic he is live. He simply blew out Rainbow, Blackmore and all. Now don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of Deep Purple and Rainbow, but Pat was just to hot. Fan reaction that night made it clear that i was not the only one who felt that way.

After Hawaii is Pat and the Band going through California again?

Can't wait for the new CD.

Hoping for a turntable for Christmas so I can dig out all my old albums (Pat Travers for sure will be the first played)

Merry Christmas to all!!!!!

lol lol! That's a nickname we always use for each other out on the golf course. A buddy of ours (Ed's and mine) originally came up with the name. In fact, he came to the San Juan Capistrano gig a couple months back. I took a really good picture of him with Pat, Rick, and Eric and then printed it out on my printer when I got home. The next week when Pat played in Henderson, we had Pat sign it "for SizzleChest". I gave the pic to my friend and he absolutely loves it!

Hi Ginbel

I feel very lucky to have a little film, I can play in my head, of Pat and the guys "Groovin" on stage. He just seemed to be in heaven making music.

Pat always seemed very wild, most people believed he would either end up a rock and roll star or in prison (or both).

I lost track of Pat in high school, he may have gone to Merivale High, I went to Confederation. He may also done a bit of time at both, it is so long ago that these details get fuzzy. I will check though.

I still picture him at 12 or 13 years old. He hasn't changed much really, at least he still has HIS hair, if you know what I mean!!??

Two other rockers who grew up in this little town are Bryan Adams and an ex patriot Brit named Howard Jones. I wonder if Pat ever jammed with them? Howard made his mark in the music industry as a keyboard guru and now lives in England.

Just a little interesting fact. Bryan Adams and Tom Cruise lived here for several years. Bryan is much older than Tom but they did attend the same public school in Beacon Hill in Ottawa's east end. Tom's full real name is Thomas Cruise Mapother III. Tom was 11-13 years old when he lived here and loved playing hockey on the outside rinks.

I'm going to check out some school yearbooks and see if I can find a picture of Pat to post on the message board.

Hope you find this interesting.
Cheers Larry

Just wanted to drop in and say hi to everyone, I'm Steve and I used to post here occasionally 'bout a year and a half ago. I'm in Atlanta, and unfortunately PTB didn't make it here performance wise this year, but hopefully the coming year will be better.

Ed the new board looks terrific!

Rich/Ginbel: I saw that clown's Ebay farce and had to laugh cause I know you've been supplying a need for the hard core for some time. Soon as I get Christmas taken care of I'll be sending you an order for the Solo album.

I'll be giving the esteemed Mr. Travers an accompaniment with the equally fine Mr. Jim Beam this evening to ring in the new year.

Hope everyone has a healthy, safe and prosperous PTB kind of New Year!!!

Hi! I went to school with Pat in Ottawa during 1966-1967. His very first public appearance may have been at a grade 8 dance where he, and some of his buddies, did their own renditions of beer comercial tracks and a few riffs from the music of the day. I wonder if anyone took pictures?

It has been a lot of years since "Sir Winston Churchill Public School" days. Even then, it was easy to see that there was something special and electric about Pat.

Congratulations on your career Pat and best wishes to your family. Keep up the good work. Maybe we will see you at "The Ottawa Bluesfest" soon, I hope!

Cheers, larry Nicholls

They are pretty careful over there! It was extra nice what they said to us. They gaurd thier musicians pretty well since the whole Napster thing. Of course I'm not a musician. Some of the things they said I can't repeat. Then the idiot emailed us and said he never meant any harm and maybe this will boost our sales. WOW, yeah negative publicity is the cornerstone of sales... right?

Thanx 50, You know you can contact that seller by clicking on "ask seller a question" on the auction site. We would love everyone to "Put him straight"!!! On a MUCH better note!!! We have free... Yes I said FREE... Pat Travers Band Logo Tattoos. They are cool and look great. No catches just send a self addressed and stamped envelope to us 713 Renner Rd Wilmington, DE 19810. Naturally we are totally ripping Pat off on these also!!! We intend to keep every little penney from the profit of these free items. We actually meant to post this on Christmas, but then that ass started his stupidity and we forgot. See how bad influences affect your life? Actually he managed to piss me off for most of Christmas, but then I realized he was just some misinformed idiot and it shouldn't bother me that much. Gee... ya think he'll be asking for a free tattoo. 'Course sense him and Pat are buds, he can just get one from Pat. Hmmm... I'm still waiting for the call.... You know (your name here)... the one where "Pat will straighten me out" what could be taking sooo long? Didn't you call him on Christmas? No? Now, don't tell me you lost his number... Tell ya what dude. I know since you guys are so tight that Pat will be calling you any minute now.... MORON!!! Now don't go crying to Ed to pull this post down... after all I never actually used your name now did I? Anyway, now that I have had my rant... We have about 25 tattoos. We are not making them anymore. So get them while you can. Just 2 rules.... one per person and don't email us and ask about them. We would love to hear from you... just not about tattoos...LOL! Just stick a note on the very outside of the envelope and when we're out we'll just do a return to sender and post not to send anymore envelopes. Peace and love to most. Rich

Hi Cindy. Just wanted to drop a post to let you know that I enjoy your posts here in the PT discussion (almost wanted to write disgusted there due to that one ebay seller's accusation of ginbel's ebay based CD sales :~ ) I recently purchased PT's Radioactive CD from ginbel and await its arrival to cop that New Age Music flange effect... You guys are just getting too cute with those x-mas graphics.. don't know about that terrorist-like happy face graphic though :-\ Enjoy! Hope PTB had a great x-mas.

Don't know about the Amazon Women movie, but PT did mention in an article http://www.guitarist.co.uk/interviews/inter_page.asp?ID=307&PageNo=1 about doing a movie with Edgar Winter in which they'd be some kind of vampires.

Anyone know if that ever made it to reality?

Merry Rockin' PT Christmas to All Us Hammerheads!!

Games! All I need is another reason not to be productive! Thanks for these!

Corrupt me if I am wrong, but do I remember some time back, way back, that Pat did some work for a little movie, Amazon Women On The Moon? Did I dream this? Did anything of his make it in the movie? This came up in a discussion with a friend who almost shares my enthusiasm for PT!

Any info on the above question will be appreciated. Strat, I know you will know if this is correct or not!

Later all...Jim

And thanks Richard Higdon for the response! I will check out what you mentioned!

Hey Hooked, Thanx for the kind words and support, but we don't do anything for the site. We like to stare at it though! This is definately the best fan run site we have ever seen and Ed derserves the credit. Daryl has contributed a lot also. We just do the CD and soon to be DVD thing. Well at least until we get tired of people like the one on Ebay now accusing us of ripping Pat off. What a joke! Why is it that people are so cynical? We don't get it. Is this world REALLY that bad? We don't think so. We tend to trust people. Look for the good in people and that is what you will get. People give you what you are looking for. I can be a mean S.O.B. when I want to, but much prefer kindness when allowed the opportunity to do so. Hey Merry Christmas Everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!! Let's hope we all get together more in 2002!!! Nancy and I appreciate all the support the fans have provided in 2001 and hopefully we'll have the opportunity to be of the same or greater service in 2002!! PAT TRAVERS ROCKS!!!! MERRY, MERRY PAT. WE LOVE YA'!!!!
