Can't help it, with all this chat about Zepagain, I just had to put a plug in for our local boys 'Fred Zeppelin'who have been doing the UK Midlands for over ten years. They regularly play The Robin at Bilston - where PTB was last Wednesday. They all come from Stourbridge where Rob Plant and John Bonham were from so I guess it must be in the water! Keith Jenkinson doesn't try to look like Page but his 'Dazed and Confused' is amazing. Check out their site at http://www.dickie.webfusion.co.uk/fredz/. Plant has seen them three times and given them his full approval...

I like it here.

I'm just sayin'.

It's a great place to drop in during the day when work or life in general is being a drag.

Most of us haven't met, but yet there's a group of good, caring peeps here. Supporting when needed.

Juvenile when we need that too!

Yeah...definitely what I would call my home on the internet

Thanks, ED...and thanks PT for providing the conduit for bringing a very cool group of people together

From The Who's website:

Rock legend KEITH MOON was so dedicated to his reputation as a wild man, he once missed a flight just so he could return to his hotel room and hurl a TV into the pool. THE WHO guitarist PETE TOWNSHEND recalls he was in a car with Moon, on the way to catch an aeroplane when the drummer insisted on returning to the hotel room, where he'd spent the previous night. The guitarist says, "We were late for the plane and Keith was like, 'Oh my God, I've got to go back to my hotel room.' We thought he'd left drugs in his room or something. "We turned around, we know we're gonna miss the plane and we might be late for the gig. We rush back to the hotel and he rushes in, comes out with the TV set and throws it into the swimming pool, gets back in the car and goes, 'Phew, I nearly forgot!'" Townshend resisted the temptation to scream at his wacky bandmate - because he knew how important throwing TVs into pools was for Moon. He adds, "Throwing television sets out of hotel rooms is very, very, very important. F**king hell, it's very important that somebody does it and does it often. The people that do it should be regarded as being very special."

One more thing before band practice:

Monica, promise me you'll play that clip for Pat! You might want to get Apollo in front of the screen too! This actor is an active little feller . . . Here it is again for your convenience.

Hey Randal, no way was that clip taken during my junior high years. I didn`t make it that far. Also, back in those days the video was in black and white, and without sound.

By the way here`s that pic of your band that I promised ya.

http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e46/hondaman29/stooges32.jpg

Oh yeah, here`s a pic I "borrowed" from Kirk`s myspace site. It look`s like Rizzo is all shook up as he`s being taken in for questioning by the Gestapo.

I have been trying to become part of this post site for awhile except i am in the NAVY and it is difficult to stay online while underway. Anyway I want to say I am A diehard PAT fan 60 shows and counting. I know this is a little dated, however I recently saw Pat out in the middle of freakin no where a place called RIVER RANCH in ROCKDALE TX. Pat was awesome played for almost two hours. i jumped the River and went backstage after the show Talked to Rik for a few minutes and Pat. I told them I drove from Jacksonville , florida for the show. Which was 1200 miles and worth it. Pat is playing in St. Pete DEC 23 at a place called THE BISHOP. Does anyone know where that is. Late, Pat keep rockin

Welcome aboard, Tom!

You certainly sound like a diehard PTB fan, and will definitely fit in around here.

I want to personally thank you (and ALL servicemen) for your commitment & dedication to preserving the freedoms of the U.S. It would be an entirely different set of living conditions in this country without you guys. Again, thanks for all you do!

And yes, the PTB kicks arse!

Thanks for the welcome to the site. My 1st PT show was July 7th 1981 at Sunrise Musical theatre Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, with opening band Rose Tattoo. Black Pearl tour. Pat was at the top of his game as well as MARS and Tommy Aldrige. That was one kick ass band. Since then I have seen PT in 11 states and 3 different countries. PT never fails to please. Always generous with autographs after shows. Anyways thanks for the welcome and I look forward to keeping up with the PT groupies. Looking forward to at least two shows this month in Sebastion, Florida and St. Pete if I cna figure out where the hell the venues are. PTROXX

We ordered our tickets for the acoustic PT show in Port St Lucie...WHOOHOO!!! Still trying to figure out if tickets need to be pre-ordered for the Sebastian show.

We got the Hooked On Music DVD from the Rockpalast gig. I'm thinking we must have gotten a special package though. Statesboro Blues is on the DVD but not listed on the back cover.

A bit late but.....THANK YOU Monica for sharing your hubby with all of us! (I'm wondering if they have come up for air yet LOL)

Hey Randal.....those links you posted for the hahahumor site caused my Firefox browser to have fits. I got a dire warning about it and a strong suggestion to restart Firefox. There is probably some harmful scripting at that site...just a word of caution to everyone.

18 days and counting to the next PT fix! :-)

What a load of tunes. Thanks Pat Travers Band, Carmine Appice and all those involved.

Probably no chance of a new release here in 2006, so let's hope for one in 2007. :-)

I bought this book called "The Battle for Black Sabbath", there is a chapter about when Ozzy had gone solo. When his guitarist, Randy Rhoads, was tragically killed, Ozzy had to get someone quick to fill in for the remainder of the tour. Some of the guitarist called - Gary Moore, Michael Schenker, John Sykes, and one Patrick Henry Travers!!! "Pat Travers had been very supportive on the phone, but his kind offer of help wasn't taken up. Pat had phoned a couple of times, very genuinely concerned on a personal level at what had happened" "Pat was very keen to help, but when it came to it his management demanded silly stuff like equal billing and a lot of money"
Imagine the possibilities!

Pat left this morning for California. He'll post when he gets back. He got very sick after his trip from Europe, bronchitis and he's just now getting over it. At least he waited to get sick at home and not over there! He's a hard worker.

It is true. Pat did offer to replace Randy I had tickets to the OZZY show in Miami when Randy died. It was Brian Adams, REO, Foreigner and OZZY. OZZY cancelled his gig and Pat Travers played on the bill as well. I can tell you Pat blew-up the Orange Bowl and 57,000 fans all agreed that Pat stole the show

All due respect to the Wizard of OZ, but I think PT would have been too good for him. I also believe that it might have hampered PT overall as a musician. Playing with Ozzie would have pidgeoned him into one type of music. On his own, maybe he hasn't had the industry success he rightly deserves, but he has shown that he can be very, very diverse muscially...and that's what keeps me "hooked".

Yep, that DEFINITELY sounds like the David Hemmings era management of PT's career. Or maybe it was the Doc McGhee era? Seems like neither one did much to make things easy on Pat's career at the time. Either way, management was probably asking for so much money because of the effects bad management was having on the band at the time. Might have been interesting to hear PT play some of those Ozzy songs of that era, especially considering Tommy Aldridge was Ozzy's drummer at the time. That would have made things interesting, to say the least, on the tour bus & backstage. My understanding is the rift between Pat & Tommy was still considerable at that time. Rock & roll is a crazy game, isn't it? Regarding PT getting pidgeon-holed into a particular style, I kinda doubt that. It certainly didn't limit Randy Rhoads or Brad Gillis (the eventual temporary fill in guitarist) and I surely doubt that it would have limited PT! Too much talent for that to happen...

After 200 years (give or take a few) it looks like the Native American Indians are starting to take back what is rightfully theirs. Take a look at this!
----------------------------------------------

Hard Rock Businesses - Including Cafes, Hotels, Casinos Concert Venues - Sold For $965 Million
Posted on Thursday, December 07, 2006 at 12:09:12

The following report from Robert Barr, Associated Press:

The Seminole Tribe of Florida is buying the Hard Rock business, including its massive collection of rock 'n' roll memorabilia, in a $965-million (US) deal with British casino and hotel company Rank Group PLC.

The Hard Rock business includes 124 Hard Rock Cafes, four Hard Rock Hotels, two Hard Rock Casino Hotels, two Hard Rock Live! concert venues, and stakes in three unbranded hotels.

With it, the tribe acquires what is said to be the world's largest collection of rock memorabilia, some 70,000 pieces including JIMI HENDRIX' Flying V guitar, one of MADONNA's bustiers, a pair of ELTON JOHN's high-heeled shoes and guitars formerly owned by BOB DYLAN, ERIC CLAPTON and CHUCK BERRY.

Seminole tribe chairman Mitchell Cypress and Seminole Gaming chief executive officer James Allen said in a statement that the tribe would work with current Hard Rock International management to build on existing growth plans.

“This is a proud moment for the Seminole tribe of Florida and for all Indian tribes,” said Mr. Cypress, who heads an elected tribal council. “It is also an opportunity for the Seminole tribe to diversify its business operations and help a very successful company to achieve even greater growth.”

In addition to its two Seminole Hard Rock hotels and casinos, the Seminole tribe owns and operates five other casinos in Florida.

Rank said it would keep the Hard Rock Casino in London but under the Rank Gaming brand.

“We have maximized the value of Hard Rock through this disposal following a thorough strategic review and competitive auction,” said chief executive Ian Burke said.

The company will also pay shareholders a special dividend from part of the proceeds of the sale, which is subject to shareholder approval and scheduled to be completed in March.

Mr. Burke said the company would return $690-million of the sale proceeds to shareholders in a special dividend of $1.28 a share.

Last year, Hard Rock posted revenue of $493-million and profit before interest and tax of $68.6-million, Rank said.

I remember reading about Pat getting offered the gig with Ozzy. It was in Circus or Hit Parader or some fan magazine. Personally speaking, I'm glad it didn't happen. I love Ozzy and I love Pat but I love Pat a hell of a whole lot more than Ozzy. Pat was always meant to be the leader of the Pat Travers Band and that's the way it should always be.

Monica, hope Pat is feeling better for his left coast trip. Please send along our regards and hopefully we'll see him in Charlotte in 2007.

Well said Pig. I think quite the opposite may have come from it.
Talent + Exposure + Opportunity = Succes!

WARNING!!! NON PTB MATERIAL TO FOLLOW!!!
Just kind of funny! I have a girlfriend that is my concert/show buddy! She invited me to her company Christmas party and I gladly accepted! A party is a party, right!? Well, later she added that while she initially thought of me, the deal was sewn shut when she learned her company is providing only TWO drinks to each person...and there is no cash bar!! Wowsers!! So, and Randal has experienced this firsthand, I smoke AND nearly always have a cooler with beer in the bed of my truck! Therefore, my need to go outside and smoke will afford her, me, and her friends the opportunity to go grab a drink!! Too funny, huh!?

We now return to the regular PTB show already in progress.

Later...

Can you please explain how the Hard Rock chain and memorabilia are rightfully the Indians?

I'm not sayin' what happened in the past..THE PAST...didn't suck, but geez, they're buyin' the thing for $965,000,000!!! Color me naive, but it doesn't appear that life is so bad for them anymore.

Plus, in NY, they live tax free, I believe they can take advantage of all the social helps from the government, and as I understand it the whole tribe shares in the casino hauls, even if you have just an iota of their blood.

On the tax-free point, if that deal is true, that property will now be soveriegn (un-taxable) by the US, at least in NY it's that way.

I'm sorry if I offended anyone with this, but it's based on what I see and read; the issue is often in the news here in Buffalo as there a several reservations in the vicinity.

I don't bear them ill will and I do wish them the best. I'm of the view that, today, they have every opportunity to succeed that I do, but it seems like all things considered, I'm footing their bill. I'm open to conversation if someone would like to explain the other side to me, I would really appreciate it.

Looks like you missed my attempt at sarcasm. Hard to "write" sarcasm. And I wasn't implying that the Hard Rock enterprises were "rightfully theirs". It was just a reference to the history of the immigrant European white settlers taking over their territory. Uh....sort of like what's happening in our current situation with our "neighbors" who live just south of Texas, New Mexico, Arizona & California.

Myself, living in Washington state we have a VERY strong Native Indian population, so I'm well aware of what you're speaking about regarding casinos, tax exemption, etc. Along the same theme, a new concert venue was opened just south of Seattle a couple years ago (White River Amphitheater) on, you guessed it, Indian reservation territory (Puyallup Tribe, I think). It has become THE outdoor venue for touring bands since it opened & you KNOW the tribe is raking in a percentage of those $7.00 beers, $5.00 hotdogs, other concessions & parking fees. And most likely tax exempt. And like your area, they built the complex with profits from their casino a few miles down the road. I even attended the inaugural opening concert they had (Heart!) and before the show started, right there on stage there was a big Native ceremonial blessing of the site.

So.....I know what you're saying. I'm sorry you misinterpreted my quote. Those things happen. No harm done. I just thought it was pretty bizarre that the Hard Rock conglomerate was purchased by, of all things, an Indian tribe! That is almost as crazy as PT and Ozzy jamming together...

Hi Monica,
The author is a guy named Garry Sharpe-Young. The book "The Battle for Black Sabbath" was released eariler this year, but it is a combination of 2 books the author wrote about Ozzy and Tony Iommi a few yeears ago. Funny story about one of Pat's "Managers":
During the 1990 tour, with Riggs, Cronin and Mars, I was lucky enough to get back stage and share a beer or two with the boys. All was well when some long haired guy walks in and says " Who the hell are you and why are you drinking the bands beer????!!!!" Being kinda caught off guard I turned to someone next to me and said "Who is this A@@hole"? Well thats all he needed to hear, he turned deep red and shouted at me to leave. Now I had only met PT and Mars once before at a "Head Shop" in San Jose, Ca. earlier that day, so I figured I was out the door, when all of a sudden a voice pops up and says "Hey, thats a friend of mine and he can stay" I turned around and saw Mars and he told me to come back in and have another beer!!! I asked him who the guy was and Mars said "He's the road manager, and yes, HE'S AN A@@HOLE" I couldn't contain my laughter and the manager stormed off pissed as hell. Needless to say, Mars was and is one hell of a cool guy and will always be #1 in my book.

Here`s a little good news blurb about Johnny Winter.

"Bummer, bummer, bummer!!! It look`s like I won`t make the JWB show tomorrow night in Ft.Lauderdale. I`m in Chicago right now for training, and the instructor told us this afternoon that it`ll be a full day tomorrow. Rats! Anybody need a free ticket to tomorrow night`s show? Man, it`s sooo c,c,c,c,cold up here!!! BRRR!!!

S`later, JH"

Yeah, I`m gonna miss the show. But,...here`s the good news.

" Hey Stalker you won't wanna read this cause you are missing one hell of a show. The Man is back, and I mean AAAAALLLLLLL the way back. He looks great and he plays as well as he did 20 years ago. I promise I'm not just blowin smoke. Wouldn't have believed it if I didn't see and hear it myself. Vocals are strong and he sang the whole show. Paul and the boys played an instrumental till Johnny hit the stage then Paul left and Johnny had all vocals and guitar work for the entire show. Just remembered Wayne sang "Tore Down". Literally walked in the door 15 mins. ago so I may tend to ramble. Stood (no seats in venue) front row center stage, Johnnys' guitar right in front of me at eye level. Damn those fingers move smooth as silk and fast as lightning. Wayne and Scott are amazing and obviously havin a ball playing again. They must be living a dream. Got a chance to talk to Paul after the show. Told him when I saw Johnny 8 or 9 years ago I didn't know whether to cry or put a bullet in a certain someones head. He looked me right in the eye and said he felt exactly the same way! I thanked him for all he has done and said I wished I could give him a big hug and he said go ahead. This man doesn't know me from Adam and he talked to me like we had been friends for years. When I told him I spoke to Steve P today to find out if he was comin to the show, he got all excited cause he said Steve was coming to the show tomorrow (Fri) and bringing Greg Brady. God Bless Paul Nelson. Enough of my ramble, Don't Miss the chance to see this show. If God takes me tonight I will die a very happy man. My idol is healthy and obviously very happy."

By the way, Paul is a JW bandmate, and now JW`s manager too. The others are regulars at a Edgar Winter site.

S`later, JH

Hey All, Checking in from the Great White North.
Interesting stuff concerning Pat in print. I have a coffee table book on Rush and this is what Alex Lifeson had to say about our favourite guitar slinger:'"Yeah I love Pat's style of playing," reflects Alex on one of the more regular backups on the tour, fellow Canadian Pat Travers. "It's a really blue's-based style of playing, but he was a superconfident guy, to the point of being cocky. But I was really impressed. You know, I've alway's been - not so much in the last so many years - but I used to be very self-conscious and a little lacking in self confidence. When I watched guys like him, it was like, oh, I wish I just had that, the balls to just...bleaagh, go for it(tossing his arms open)....Yeah I's go watch him, and we got along really really well- with the whole band-Tommy Aldridge, great drummer. He and Neil got on really well, He was a lot of fun to be with."'
Pretty Cool Aye.

Off Topic, but I really dig the new UFO Monkey Puzzle - what do others think? Also, who has the new Who? Any body? What do you guy's think (Who fans of course) I myself think it's pretty darn good - as good as could be in 2006 without Moon or Entwhistle. It really does sound like a Who record.
Also where is a good place other Amazon etc.. to find Japenese re-issues of UFO- anybody? & what is a fair price? Thanxs

Hard to believe it's already been 2 years since the totally senseless tragedy.
A great guitar player, never heard a bad word about him, and he absolutely LOVED Pat's music.
It's Friday...while you're out & about tonight, order up a Blacktooth Grin in Dime's honor.
I know Beseau will.....

Spotted this on Ross Halfin's website diary. For those of you who might not know who Ross is, he's a well respected (in most corners) rock photographer who's done some of the "classic" photos you've seen (whether you know it or not!) of some of the greats in the business. Extensive work with Van Halen, Zeppelin, Maiden, among thousands of others.

Anyway, here's an excerpt from his diary that I think you'll all enjoy...

November 26
A very packed Boom Boom club had Pat Travers on. He opened with Hooked On Music. He had a good sound and his band were tight. He played Heat In The Street, Life In London, a surprisingly good version of Red House, and Snorting Whisky - and of course Boom Boom Out Go the Lights. His drummer Eric was a speed metal drummer, who came over and introduced himself to me during one of Pat's guitar solos. Eric added quite a dimension to the fills - imagine Dave Lombardo from Slayer and you'll get the idea.
Eric took me back to see Pat as they came off stage. Had a good chat with them. Pat asked me if I know Brian Wheat (bass player of Tesla). Pat said Brian was one of his best friends. I'd had an email from Brian a while ago asking if I hate him - apparently I don't call him. Brian, I love you - and you can call me...

November 25
Got my Van Halen film from my lab this morning and I'm pleased with it. Need some impetus to work

Pat Travers is playing the Boom Boom club tomorrow. I'll probably go and shoot it - I haven't seen him play since 1979.

PT was playin slide on his acoustic guitar this morning on a local radio station. After Pat played "Snortin Whiskey", he told the story of how Pat Thrall came up with the title, and how, even though he wrote the entire song, gave half the writing credit to Thrall. It was hilarious to hear Pat tell it. Thrall was late a few hours for rehearsal, when he showed up, he was with his girlfriend, apparently very "happy". Pat asked him "Where have you been?", to which Thrall replied "S.W.D.C"!!! PT said he thought it was so funny he wrote the song in a few mins, using Thrall's line for the title, but giving him half credit. If anyone had the change to record this mornings' interview, could I get a copy from you?? This was some classic PT. And at 8 am!

I had my Blacktooth Grin with the bartender @ The Wreck Room last night. Swapped Dime stories for a bit. When I ordered up, he didn't realize it was the day. He had the gall to say I didn't look the part of a Pantera fan!! WTF-ever!!! Good times...and bad times.

Thanks for the heads-up Pig.

Thank God for good friends & music and RIP Dime.

Will check you out, JM!

Uh, lesseee. . .

OOOOHHH Monica! I'm gonna tell Pat you thought about gREG right before bedtime! Take my word for it -- it's ALOT like sleeping with Sasquatch. Nuff said.

Caught a bronchitis-like thing in Seattle four weeks ago and it's still giving me fits. Guess I'd better go see the lady doc -- she's always fun to visit. ahem

Edley, hope you're okay! That was a profound list. Makes us all stop to think, I reckon. I just got back from Portland where I was visiting Brother Jeff and takin' care of biniss. He's recovering from chemo after a bout with lung cancer. He's pretty philisophical these days because of it -- I hope it's nothing that serious that caused your pondering spell!!! We're all with ya and thinkin' of you too.

JIMBO! I miss them Texass trips! Been covering alot of ground, but all up north lately.

We actually had a GOOD weekend this week ('cept for one errant Seahawks choke). My first grandson was born to Jayson and his wife, my youngest son Jake got the lead part in the movie "Little Jake", and I got my Oregon Architect's license. So, does that mean that GOOD things come in threes??? I s'pose so. Been awhile since we had really good news . . .

Scott, glad to hear you guys made the show. Hope to run into you again soon.

Guess that's enough for now. Oh yeah Tony, don't think I didn't see that post! Just looking at things on this end. I bought some of Ronnie Wood's artwork in Vegas last month, so got some "gittin' back" to do with my bank account.

Oh the rooster chin pink goatee is coming in gooood!! Dime would be proud!!

And I did return an email...take it back. Well deserved though!

Company Christmas party tonight @ Billy Bob's Texas! Pig, you're familiar with that honky tonk, yeah?! Good times! Another one tomorrow night with a friend with a local show afterwards! My 'Feds' are back from their 8 week whistle-stop tour of the north east! Good times!

I dug Ed's 'thinklist'! I modified, in my head, one part...

Yo Randal,

Just making my Christmas list for Big Ed! Mighty sweet of him to at least consider us for Christmas. Let's see, I'll ask for an original, mint "closet classic" '62 Strat, a top of the line Koch 2x12 Combo amp with an effects loop & dual switching channels & Jeff Beck's talent! Yeah! That'll do the trick! Now for the go-go dancers....I'll take 3 please! Man, it's goona be a FANTASTIC Christmas! Thanks Big Ed!

Last I heard, Beseau was trying to sport the "rooster chin" pink goatee so he could "reprazent" Dime. And he ain't returning emails, either.

And gREG IS Sasquatch...with a Beavis & Butthead mentality! That's why we love him so.

I have a cool little story for you :-) My Uncle turned my friend Chad and I onto P.T. in about 1981 when we were just becoming teenagers. He played in some local bands here around Dayton so even though our friends were into alot of the hair bands and such of the time..We waved our P.T. flag all throughout our high school years at Bellbrook High school. We saw every P.T. show we could, I vividly remember sitting in front of MTV for the 'Just Another Killer Day' special...Anyway to make a long story short....My friend Chad married this beautiful girl here named Heather, and her Mom is your cousin I believe! It sure would be nice to have a P.T. show in Southern Ohio :-)

PT = MC² now available in Europe!!!!! Go out and check your store. It must be X-Mas time.

Don't bitch in the US how long it took and how difficult it was to get the cd. They finally got it done.

Could have been done a bit more intelligent, like aligning some advertising with the Eurotour. Or giving Pat some information, so that people could go out and buy the cd.

Record companies is a world i don't understand.

Ready for a PT = MC² X-Mas! What else could you want (especially if your team sucks).

Snorkels, i am starting to miss you. Got to make it next year.

Rod still rockin in Germany.

Those of you that watched Monday Night Football last night...Anybody besides me hear Rush's "Fly By Night" (several times!) and "Working Man" as background on several highlight reels? Must be somebody in the production staff that is a big Rush fan. I couldn't believe I was hearing something like that on such a big broadcast! Very cool...Now if only PT could get the same respect. I've always been amazed that some pro team (any sport) hasn't picked up "Amgwanna Kick Booty" as a rallying song for their team?

A couple weeks ago at a Buffalo Sabres game, the lights briefly went out (and I mean for only a second or two). I was watching on TV. After it happened my ear picked out a familiar sound..."Boom Boom" was played at the Arena! I couldn't believe it; but also was amazed at how quickly that the sound guy played it!

The last two times I've seen PT we had power outages at our house the day of the show. The first time was a car wreck during the summer that took out a pole in the area. The second time was an ice storm that took down some power lines and really hurt attendance for the show that night. Coincidence? I think not!

Greetings...

Hello PT Family. It's been awhile, since I've posted due to ALOT going on in my life. Most of which is stuff I will not go into here but BELIEVE me, Next month I will have to endure something more tremendous than I ever had dreamed. No, I'm not going under the knife or anything like that. But anyhoo, I sincerely wish ALL OF YOU, From Pat, Monica and family, all the way down to Ed, Randall, gREG, Blur, SteveZ and the rest a VERY Happy holiday season.

Just like the ole' EDSTER, I too think of my lava lamp. Ed, I know you're thinking and wonderin about me...I'm here Bro. For now anyway. Call me.

I felt mortal the day I turned 40. The holidays have never really been kind to me. But this one takes the proverbial cake. No. I don't want sympathy. I have a great wife and family, I just get misty in a way and then I end up finding out the hard way that just because you get older...It doesn't make you any smarter. But it does BEAT the alternative. I think. Yea...that's where I'm at. Sometimes being a musician is a bitch.

Okay I'm done bein a bummer.

All of a sudden, I'm in the mood to hear Pat's soulful lyrics to "Crash-n-Burn" Real loud.

Merry Christmas and PLEASE may this be a happy New Year for all of us!

Love,
Bill

PBC Lady: No, I didn't make the show, fought off two bugs the last three weeks. Sorry I missed you, Pat and a free drink!
Was someone yelling "We love you Pat" again?

Hey we got three shows in Cleveland in 15 months!

I've said it a few times here that Pat's music has helped me through some rough times. I am greatfull for sure. He has now inspired my son with the cover of "Green Eyed Lady". He has got the bass progression down well and is working on the speed and timing. That never would have happened if I haven't been re-arranging the china with that bass heavy tune done P.T. style.
I'm 43. It's time I said hello to a guitar.
Getting too old to have the fear of failure stop me.

I would hate to buy a imported axe to learn on but there is little choice.

Hmmmmm................................
.. Dear P.T. Claus; What I want for Christmas is: Peace on Earth
A well used American Axe.
Another ass kick'n P.T. show with the boys in Ohio.
The Holland show DVD (does it exist?)

For all the Hammerheads: The Polydor stuff remastered with Pat's proper cut.
For Pat: Good health and family love. Long live "The Legend"!

Easy on the sauce untill you get home everyone. Live to see many more shows.

Sorry I got real long winded here.

May our solders be safe this holiday.
Come home soon.

Merry Christmas to all!

Well, I'm hitting the big 4-0 on Jan. 1st. My wife's throwing a New Year's Eve/birthday party with booze, hookers, farm animals, and a large dose of music from the mighty Pat Travers Band. This is big deal indeed for the blur household. At this point in our lives with two little ones it's hard to host such an event. Should be fun. I'll let all of you know if we make it through it alive.

Bill and anybody going through some turmoil-hang in there my bruthas and sistas. Lean on your extended PTB family to help you get through it. We'll do our best and keep all of you in our prayers.

The show on the 23rd in St. Pete is actually at a place called the "The Bishop Tavern." If you don't include the word "tavern" in any kind of a search, it's almost impossible to find anything about this show - although you'll find out more than you ever wanted to know about the local Catholic bishop!

Looks like we have a little acoustic tour of Ohio Jan 11,12, and 13 I believe. P.T. acoustic is like a dream come true!! We'll definitely be able to make the Cincinnati show (After my wife found out the club is called 'Whiskey Dicks' she said I couldn't drink Crown Royal at the show...)and hopefully the other's depending on my work schedule. What a great Christmas present :-)

The PT Port St Lucie show was great! Pat looked like he was having a good time.

He played a great piece of music he'd written but didn't have a name for it yet. He mentioned that if anyone had an idea for a name to write it on a $20 bill and put it up on the stage. Well, wouldn't you know, I didn't have a $20 bill with me. So, I had to find one this morning.

Go to http://ladyserenity.us/pt.html and you'll see my suggestion. (I couldn't get the upload image thing to work here.
The title I suggest fits perfectly with the images in my head while Pat was playing it.

We met a guy there who was positively gushing about seeing Pat. He hadn't seen him perform in 25 years, and said Pat was still his favorite rock performer. Well He sat on the edge of the stage with his $1 bill, hoping Pat would autograph it for him. He was so excited to hear Pat was going to come out after the show. Hope he got his autograph. (I'm sure he did)

No can do the PT solo thing, bummer, but a lotta good things going on now! One thing, I found out today that Johnny Winter is backing up da bus, and will be doing a show at a blues fest in Clearwater FL in a few weeks! I missed him when he was down here a coupla weeks ago. He probably heard that I wasn`t in attendence and wanted to make it right.

Hey John Morse,...can you just send down the toys?

Hey Eric, Rizzo, Kirk, and...and..Curly, what`s da buzz?

Jolly holiday Hammerheads, fa la la la la...la la la la.

Yeah Bill, this time of year can be hard on folks sometimes. We`ve all been through hard time`s before. I know I sure have, and have the very real physical cancer related scars to prove it. Ya just gotta keep puttin' one foot in front of the other. Hang in there bro. Like PT sometime sings, "and the pain that ya suffer is such a crime,... but it`ll heal with time"

Keep it light, JH :-)

aarrgghh

Just retyped my non-post from yesterday, copied it to get some clipart, then copid OVER it to give you the lovely image below. DANG it!

Giff, I'm here but have been super busy trying to get enough work done to block out some holiday time. Had several deadlines last week and this, but knocked 'em out. Had a Johnny Walker Red hangover yesterday (I think Jimbo knows how those are) but feel okay today.

Got most of my shopping done and Grace and I wrapped gifts until the wee hours. Can't tell ya what she gave me when she saw the bag from our favorite jeweler, but let's just say I shouldda put a ribbon on it! LOL

Gotta make one more mad dash for a Playstation 3 and that's it. You guys all done?

Hey Piggy, are you in Yak or did you go to see yer folks? I heard the FedEx man was bringin' you somethin', in care of yer roommate Art Shredley. When you get it, fix yerself a cup of Joe and take a moment to contemplate the beauty of life. You gotta dig for it sometimes . . .

Merry Christmas to Pat and Monica, Eric, Kirk, Frank and Tony and your families, to Edley Lamarr, to all you Hammerheads and Hummerheads (and even the tutu wearers), and a special "Thanks for the Freedom" to our brave and selfless American Soldiers. You all have a safe and happy holiday season, as in don't go see Great White! Either ONE of 'em for that matter . . . hugs ot the entire PT Family! You guys are the best.

Saw Pat in St. Pete last night. It was kind of an odd set up ~ he played up on a balcony at the back of a very narrow bar. Everyone had to strain their necks and look upward to watch. But admission was free!

I happened to wonder up to the balcony before the show and got a nice, comfortable chair right next to where Pat stood for the show. So I had an amazing view from about ten feet away!

Pat played two different acoustic guitars. I've always said if you can make a rock-n-roll song sound good on an acoustic - you're a great guitar player. Pat played some great blues along with some of his standards (Boom Boom, Snortin', Stevie, to name a few.

Something that I really enjoyed was the stories Pat told between each song - he never just jumped right into the next tune. He also gave a long explanation for the tune's inspiration. Probably the best was the explanation for the inspiration behind the tune "Snortin'." Most of you probably all know it already - but it was based on something Pat Thrall said once when he showed up really late for a rehearsal.

Hey everone I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. Thanks for all the holiday wishes. Monica and the kids and I had a very quiet day but after being so busy the last couple of months it was great just to sit around and do nothing. I want to say thank you to eveveryone who made it to the gigs especially the solo acoustic ones. I was more than a little nervous at first but having so many friendly faces in the crowd really made it fun. I like telling the stories and I'm thinking that maybe it's about time I tried to put some kind of a memoir together.
Well I'm going to take my lazy ass over to the dojo now and have Sensei Reeves give me a little dose of physical reality.
Everyone please have a safe and prosperous New Year. A special thanks to Ed and I'll see you at NAMM. OK?
Cheers,
P.T.

Hey Frank, Tony, Ed and Pat;

Any chance that a guy like me could get into NAMM again this year? It's just up the road and I had such a blast last year. It'd be great to hook up with you again there, Pat!

I have a contact or two who might be able to get me in, but that's not for sure so I thought I'd ask. Hope to see ya then.

Ol' Santa got me some bass effects for Christmas, and a how-to-play guitar book and CD set. Figured I should finally learn to play, since I have a Les Paul, a PT-signed PRS and an everybody-signed acoustic!

We had a low-key, lazy day at home too, Pat. Nice to do that when yer always runnin'. I know that story a little, but nowhere near as well as you! Thanks for blowing our minds and especially for being so cool to those of us who are so lucky to know you personally.

Greetings all!
I got the P.T.B. (year 1976) Rockplast DVD from Santa. It's a real hoot!!
I think Nico and Peter were Who fans back then, I'm still trying to count the broken drumsticks.
I finaly get to see the Meledy Maker (and a '72 telli.?) in action and yes Pat is fantastic in any decade.
A gem for the collection.

Also found under the tree the new Rockplast Robin Trower DVD. Robin is smokin' and the audio is perfect. There is such a tight/deep bottom end from the bass.
Five taps flowing on my rating scale.

Cherish your loved ones folks.
Good health to all!

P.S. where are you guys seeing the January tour dates?

There'll be more hookups this new year, I'm sure. We're putting the heat on the modular building company, and several of the targeted projects are out yer way. I also heard from a startup Dallas developer that he's looking to bring us on for some home buidling out thataway, so hold onto yer bonnet 'cause I'll be there down the road.

Portland crowd, git ready too 'cause February 8th is on my radar screen. Piggy, plan on that if ya can because I want to introduce you to Brother Jeff. He's got friends in the forest service.

Hey all out there in Hammerheadland. Hope you and yours had a Merry X...err..holiday season. Just chilled here at the homestead with Ice Queen. I was hoping for some toys, but I got a really cool illustrated guitar book with full-color pics of all sortsa cool guitars and lil' stories 'bout 'em. Also got a cool CD by Walter Trout, who has many famous guests joining him, it's called "Full Circle". Of particular interest to me is the last (musical) track featuring one of my most favorite guitar-slingers (not including Pat, of course), "Smokin'" Joe Bonamassa! (No, Randal, I haven't forgotten, just been busier than a one-armed paperhanger.)

Hoping for a Mid-Atlantic full-meal-deal PTB show sometime in the near future.

All you Led Zep fans out there, and 'specially Stevie Z...ran across this link to a cool classic video on a new (well, to me anyway) video site that you might enjoy checking out:

http://www.dailymotion.com/visited/search/zeppelin/video/x2433_led-zeppelin-how- many-more-times

Here's wishing everyone in the PT family a Happy and prosperous New Year!

BLUE ÖYSTER CULT Reveal Bonus Tracks For Reissues
Posted on Thursday, December 28, 2006 at 15:48:59

Launch Radio Networks has issued the following report from Gary Graff:

BLUE ÖYSTER CULT has announced the bonus tracks for two album reissues coming out February 13th.

The Legacy Edition of the 1978 live album Some Enchanted Evening will double from seven to 14 tracks, with previously unreleased performances of 'ME 262', 'Harvester Of Eyes', 'Hot Rails To Hell', 'Summer Of Love', '5 Guitars', STEPPENWOLF's 'Born To Be Wild', and an alternate version of the ANIMALS' 'We Gotta Get Out Of This Place'. The album will also come with a bonus 11-track DVD recorded in 1978 at the Capitol Center in Landover, Maryland, and new liner notes by PATTI SMITH GROUP guitarist Lenny Kaye.

The 1977 album Spectres - which featured the hits 'Godzilla' and 'Goin'Through the Motions' - comes with four bonus tracks from the recording sessions, including the originals 'Night Flyer', 'M For Murder', 'Please Hold', and a cover of the RONETTES' 'Be My Baby'. Kaye wrote liner notes for this reissue as well.

Spectres was certified gold, while Some Enchanted Evening hit the platinum mark.

Cool news, Pig!

I ain't gonna let Jimbo make a liar outta me, no siree Bob! Just took a peek at booking my trip to Connecticut, where I've gotta go to close the deal on the first MMP-built project. Good ol' American Airlines likes to fly right through Tex-ass -- Dall-ass in particular, on its merry way to Hartford. Jim, I reserved a couple of flights that have me sittin' in yer airport for 3 to 5 hours each way, but they're late afternoon into early evening. I need a good read on yer work hours to see what works best. Lemme know -- tentatively planing on leaving here on the 15th and flying back through on the 18th.

Who knew? Now how's THAT fer quick?

heh heh

gREG, I'll see if I can drop an icy blue package over Avondale on my way over . . . look for it in yer pool . . .

I'm sure someday I'll be Ed's bitch, after all, I've known him longer...and I've stayed at his house!

Not too mention, all I gotta do is teach Ed a PT toon on da Geetah! and I'm in like Flynn! Or if all else fails...Lipstick always does the trick!

Right Ed?
Ed?
come on help me out here...
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

happy new years everyone, hope its a great year for us all. We have the new grandbaby this week end for the first time. Been 23 yrs since we had a baby in the house. Should be intersting and fun to say the least.
Pat and the guys,I know your extremely busy but if you could take the time to write a note of encouragement to Marty Benard (cancer and brain tumors) I would be forever in your debt. Thanks in advance.
Cheers,kegger

As for Marty Benard you will be in my thoughts and prayers. I know someone very close to the family struggling with a similar ailment. No one deserves that battle. So from the bottom of my heart I wish you the very best. Eric

Yeah Eric, we just lost my sister-in-law to cancer this year. Very sad.

Kegger, I'll check previous posts for Marty's address or please email me at randal@ehmarch.com. I'll send a signed STEHM photo with our best wishes.

Happy New Year, everyone!

Happy New Year everyone !! Randal are you gonna make the Portland show? Rockpig? Monae, I know you are! But what about the venue? Is that place(The Dunes) still a "go"? I just do not see much activity there; but maybe they know the owners or something. Anyway, all the best to all my P.T. friends out there. Peace Big Eddie

I bought the "Secret Treaties" reissue a few years ago. That album is one of my absolute all-time faves. It included some bonus tracks recorded back during the "Secret Treaties" sessions. The only thing that came to mind after hearing the bonus tracks was... "Now I know why they never made it on album to begin with..." I'm not trying to diss BOC - they're one of my favorite bands. Maybe the bonus tracks for these albums will be better.

Happy New Year evryone. Looking forward to it! Big Ed- I don't know anything about the Dunes venue, geez, I don't even know where to get tickets yet. I think that Randal and Rockpig are planning on attending though. Maybe we can get on the guest list, although if it's crowded, we won't be able to be in front if we do that...at least not very easily. Everyone be safe out there!
