To all who have e-mailed me I apologize for not responding. But I just got back on line this morning. Major PC problems the last couple of weeks.

Now I have several hundred e-mails to sort through. Still have major updates that I was working on that are now HISTORY.

I gotta find another line of work.......

My life is tending towards one big computer problem.

Freakin' Bill Gates - Freakin' Microsoft - Freakin' Hackers - Freakin' puters.....

Hi Bette!

Thanks for your concern!! In the words of the immortal Rusty Day "No Need To Worry" I just gotta play catch up on things around here.

I'm just glad the board is working again! It was a relatively easy fix. But I didn't know that until I was able to log back on. I was expecting a total meltdown situation when I first saw the error that was coming up.

Now it's off to work to solve even more computer problems. :(

Puters arent too bad. They allowed me to download the snippets off the new album. Pats sound is evident, and it was strange NOT to hear him singing??? And did I hear a RAP tune in there on that last download??? Gotta say I never imagined that from PT. But its a new millenium and a new era in rock music for sure. Picked up a rolling stone the other day and all the billboard charts seemed to have were rap and hip hop with very few "guitarists" as I call them. What ever happened to them??? Someone please breed some............Peace

Go get it!!! "Better from a distance" is GREAT!! "Hey You" has lead vocals with Edgar Winter and Pat playing acoustic guitar and singing harmony. God Damn!!! That is fantastic song!! Edgar sounds exactly like he did in 1972 and they sound soooo good together. By the way Ed and Bruce are both mentioned on the liner notes. How cool is that!? Awsome!

I sent an e-mail last month to Monique Winter, Edgar`s wife, with a pic of me & PT from the Orlando gig and she replied back to me and said that Edgar & PT had recently worked together.

Man, I`m sure glad this hurricane jive is done! Friday night I`ll be catching a local favorite band and then on Saturday night I`ll be at a Joe Satrioni show.

I`m also looking forward to the Ray Charles movie that`s coming out.in a few weeks. I have already pre-ordered the TNA cd, so I`ll just have to wait a while longer. I`ve been playing the ship outta of PTB "2004" cd, it sooo sssmokes!

Yeah, Bette, but they didn't turn out very well, except for the PT faithful (including you). The Dancing Lady is well represented, but the damned disposable camera wasted all the band shots, as far as I'm concerned. Neither Strat nor I ever heard back from the lady who took a bblack and white of us and the boys. Now THAT sucks. She's a friend of Just Dirt, in case anybody in Seattle knows how to get ahold of them . . . Ed said he'd post 'em, but he's knee-deep in heck so I don't think they really deserve his energy . . . now that he's FAMOUS, especially! Hats off to Bruce too! VERY cool

So yeah Jim, all of my vertically-challenged sidekicks (in the most physical sense) are PO'd that you'd use the "M" word. Shame, shame shame! They say midgets are little British autos, and that the guys on Wizard of Oz were actually over six feet tall but it was all camera magic. Funny, 'cause to this day I'm convinced that gREG was the main dude in the Lolipop Guild -- the really MAD one. Now there's no doubt. I'd be pissed too if I was six foot tall but I looked 2'-11" on TV. They say it makes you look fatter and older, but that's just ridiculous. LITERALLY

Lemme see, so I missed 4:20 today. I missed 8:40 too! I got some catching up to do. Should I stay up 'til 12:60? nah, I got up too early. call the fire department, there's a small case of arson happening out back. G'night gREG

Queen Nyteshade had two claims to fame. She could tell fortunes and she was a midget. The local authorities frowned on her because they thought that fortune telling was fraudulent. They had Queeny arrested, and she was placed in a holding cell. Since she was so small she was able to squeeze between the bars of her cell and escape. Well, this so incensed the judge that he ordered the local newspaper to print an article about the culprit. The following headline was printed in the paper the next day....

"SMALL MEDIUM AT LARGE!"

Nyuk, nyuk, nyuk......Jimmy B....you've created a monster!

Boy...I'm glad to see the board is up & running. Ed, let me just echo the sentiments that we (the PT faithful) appreciate how much time and effort you devote to this little window into each other's lives and wish you luck with the 'puter gremlins in the future. I have had my share of frustrations with these (allegedly) labor-saving devices. Great when they actually work, sucks when your work is trapped inside them and you can't get to it, or, worse yet, lost.

And yet, I have no backup strategy :-/

At some point, I'll try to post the set list from the Jaxx TNA gig, but it's late and I wasn't really expecting to even get on here tonight.

Jim B...gREG....you never fail to crack me up...keep up the good work.

To quote TNA..."I look better from a distance!"

Fun pictures Randall!! The Dancing Girl is a riot!! In one pic, I can't tell if the guy is clapping (doubtful!), getting ready to catch her (likely!), or reaching to feel her up (most probably!!)!!

And what I want to know, even need to know, that the scenery behind you in the flipping off picture is a backdrop, a fake, a canvas of some sort. Lie to me if you have to!

No Jim, I cannot tell a lie. I once ate a fresh cherry! do with that what you will.

That fake backdrop IS is Mount Rainier -- in the flesh! I wrote a new song called Shadow of the Mount standing on that very spot (a couple of hundred yards away, but close enough). It is absolutely spectacular up there. Ya gotta make it to the Northwest if you get a chance -- Washington fer sure. It is most excellent! Go at 4:20.

The "flipping off" shot is for the little town where I was trying to build my hotel. It's not officially over, but I was on my way to tell them I was pulling out when I went to the mountain to get my head straight about it all. THEN I went to get my ass kicked at Algona! All was not lost . . . it turned out just fine.

Hooked, once you've downloaded the file

right click it

Make sure that that type of file is set to open with Windows Media Player... if not click on the change button and choose Windows Media Player or whatever player you would like to use to view .wmv files.

The only problem is the "B" word. And that is Bandwidth. Just the downloaded Zepagain vids alone chewed up almost 1/6 of our allotted bandwidth for October.

Jim,

Steve is a lifetime member of the PatTravers.com clan. He has been posting here since the very begining and has many friends here. Anyone who says were are off topic doesn't know what the hell they are talking about.

Anyone who regularly posts here can talk about whatever they want. It's the PT message board but we wouldn't want to limit the discussion to just PT now would we?

So don't worry my friend we're not straying very far. I have the reins firmly in hand so everything is A.O.K.

BTW - I just listened to "Aja" this past weekend. Amazing... simply amazing.

yeah Ed, I was one of those that downloaded the 50mb ZepAgain file. Thanks for the opportunity to see them. I definitely agree with Blur about getting them out to the East! I know just the place here in Buffalo. To bad I don't have the cash to bring them and PT here. Man I'd be all over trying to "hook" that show up!

In other news, definitely RIP Chris Reeves. Saw a little clip of him on the news yesterday and they ended it with the shot of him flying with "Old Glory". Brought a tear to my eye.

Don't know about the 'mysterious three' thing though. My Buffalo Bills look pretty much DOA too!

Should have the TNA Cd soon, ordered off eBay. Can't wait!

Hey King Edward...Thanks for confirming what I was suggesting a few weeks ago regarding buying this CD at a legit on-line or retail store. This is the best way for Pat & Carmine to benefit from the record contract. As anxious as I am to hear the CD in full, like you I'm waiting to buy it so that the sale actually counts towards the sales of the album stats. The more copies officially sold, the better chances of Pat getting to release other CD down the road. All of the CD's sold on Ebay are advance or promo copies and those sales do not count towards the sales tally. That's just pure 100% profit for the Ebay seller! And the seller I see on there is charging $16.00 a copy. Fair enough of a price, but when you consider that it all goes to the seller, and NONE of it goes to Pat & Carmine, well...that's a fair chunk of change! It's the least we can do to support Pat....

Also, I'm surprised at how little we are hearing in the way of show reviews that are going on as we speak over in Europe. Anyone over there care to drop us a line?

And as always...PTB is King!

The Snorkels

Oops, i forgot this: in the cd player, 'It takes a lot of Balls' and we love it!!

and.... found this cd-review on the internet:
I agree with this..
TRAVERS & APPICE: "It Takes A Lot Of Balls"
Review by Urban "Wally" Wallstrom.
It feels like I've been playing nothing 'but Pat Travers albums for the last couple of weeks. First the re-issues and now this "old geezers stick together" project with Carmine Appice (ex-King Kobra, Rod Stewart, Vanilla Fudge, Ozzy Osbourne, etc). These projects hardly ever turn out great now do they? Well, this time however they've managed to create a fine album in the old tradition with a touch of new. The sheer energy of "It Takes A Lot Of Balls" surprised the hell out of me as I never expected it to rock this hard. There are still fillers to be found but at least further apart than lately.

Opener "Better From A Distance" really sets the pace and standard of the entire album. Indeed, powerful blues rock with gritty guitar riffs, driving drum sounds and intricate bass grooves are only to be expected. The opening track along with "Never Saw It Coming" is a real power rock and a treat for any Travers/Appice fan. I don't believe I've ever heard such powerful chords and sound coming out of Travers amp. It's like he's been upgrading his old tone with the addition of the massive sound by Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top). Carmine is simply great too with technical advanced chops and fills throughout the CD.

I'm not sure who influenced who really... but there's actually some King's X harmonies and ideas to be found here. Check out "I Don't Care" or "Can't Escape The Fire" for some typical King's X stuff (Travers almost seems to be influenced by their singer too?), blended with the old shuffle'n slide of the past.Another fun track is "Rock Me" as the only lyrics included here are the words: "Rock", "Me", "Hey", "Let's Go", "Yeah", and "Rock'n Roll". On top of that you have this marvelous beat by Appice and kick ass guitars by Travers. It's a wild mixture of classic songs like "We Will Rock You", "The Stroke", and this artist which name I really shouldn't mention anymore. Let's just say the bastard was caught with kiddie porn and took off to some foreign land. Gene $immons turned down a record deal for Travers at $immons Records already back in 1989. The reason? Pat was simply too old to rock... ehem... and this from someone way older than Travers actually. I had fun most of times with my stereo cranked up all to ten. Not the best album of the year perhaps, but still entertaining.

So, buy this one as soon as possible!!

I always thought that King's X vocal's were very much Beatle-like or at the very least Beatle inspired.

Maybe the inspiration has gone full circle. Pat loves the Beatles. But King's X influences? No way... I mean... I guess it could be... but I doubt it.... Really???? Naw....

I'm a huge KX fan too. Ty's one of my favorite guitarists. Much like Pat's playing, Ty's guitar speaks volumes to me. Everytime I listen to "Naomi's Solar Pumpkin" I get the shivers and shakes and it never ever gets played just once it usually gets played ad nausium. It's the one CD that I fear I am going to wear out.

There is just something I dig about three piece Rock and Roll outfits. Most of my favorite bands are three piece. Rock and roll the way it's supposed to be.... stripped down, mean and dirty.

Can't wait to hear this... what-cha-ma-call-it? T-N-A?
