Hey Texas Rich, I know you`ve got Derringer booked for a show in a couple of weeks. Well, I caught the band this past Friday and he was amazing. No "Flash & Theatrics" in his performance, just stunning guitar work!!! I now return you to your regularly scheduled chaos. S'later, JH |

Stalker........thanks for the heads-up! Houston is getting geared up for a good show with Derringer. We got real fortunate to get a prominent radio personality with a band (Chris Baker)to open the show, along with Mike Zito so we've got radio push and great talent to prime those that come out. PT has always said he wishes he was half the player Rick is........that's one hell of a testimony in my books. They are both tops at thier game to me.......hopefully next year I can get both of them on stage for a show! Shots are on me if ya can make it to Texas for the show Stalker.......stay safe! TR |

Texas Boy, Does Derringer do that tune "Jump, Jump, Jump" in concert anymore. Outerspace melodic guitar and vocals. - Blu Might have to come to Texas to speak with Rick after all these years and set up a couple of shows in my area. Can you assist or should I call old David Jenkins to contact Rick for me. The numbers I had for Rick at his house are long disconnected, probably since ending it with his ex. |

Does anyone know if or when PT is coming through Iowa again. For awhile he was playing here once or twice a year. I worked security at a show at Shades in Cedar Rapids back in '90. I got a chance to meet him, Riggs, Mars and Scott. And had a few drinks afterward. What an awesome show!! |

Hey Randal, Yep, I should be able to make that Oregon show in July. Maybe the promoter should book several more bands (with PTB headlining of course!) and then it could be called The Birkenstock Festival! Nyuk, Nyuk! I'll be making plans to get to that show. Missed you at the Ecstacy In Numbers show here in Yakivegas a couple of weekends ago. Amazing band. The crowd loved them. You would have too. Travers -n- Appice should be seeing the light of day soon! Looking forward to that one! And as always...PTB is King! |

R-pig, Pollstar lists the KC Verizon Amphitheater 7/10/2004 date as: Sat 07/10/04 Black Oak Arkansas (Jim Dandy) Sat 07/10/04 Pat Travers The KC Verizon Amphitheater website does not list the 7/10/04 date at all, it probably needs an update. JFTR (just for the record) I'm not a promoter in any way, shape or form, just a PT fan. Promotion is Blu's, TRich's and PT's guy whose name escapes me at the moment. I actually talked to Bernard years ago about a festival they were putting on here in PHX. The promoter sounded excited about Travers so I called Don and he pretty much told me I was out of line for even bothering him about Pat, and he was busy w/ other acts at the time. Left a real sour taste in my mouth as far as "pushing" PTB! But I got over as soon as I found out the Show was cancelled anyway.....guess Bernard knew what was up. hahaha!! PTBRULES |

greg-that sounds surprising. It's not that I don't believe you. I had a similar situation around 1994 or 1995 where I passed on some phone numbers to Don about gig locations in Raleigh, NC. Don seemed appreciative and low and behold, Pat landed a gig two months later at one of the places I recommended to Don. I do know that over the years Don became involved in other bands other than the PTB. Maybe Don and Pat are not working together as much for a reason these days. My feeling (no inside info) is that Don really stuck by Pat during the dark years of the late 80's and helped him get his back together and his career resurrected in the right way in the early to mid 90's. As for Black Oak Arkansas? I saw them and Pat around '94-'95 playing a gig together. Unless something has changed I would't recommend getting excited over them. Jim Dandy went from a prototype David Lee Roth into Meatloaf's fatter twin brother. He did the washboard thingie and took his shirt off, and the crowd gasped in horror at the sight. Some passed out. Others threw up. Musically it was mediocre at best. Some acts are better off drifting into the sunset, and that was my impression after seeing Black Oak Arkansas. Besides that, it was billed as the "Original Black Oak Arkansas". I got excited thinking I would see Tommy Aldridge, but it was the original members except for Tommy. Oh well.... |

Hey Blur, Was the Lincoln Theater one of the places you tried to get Pat booked into? That's a very cool venue! I spent New Year's Eve there a couple of years ago. Also, my experiences with Don Barnard have always been good for the most part. He even sold me one of Pat's Boss octave pedals a few years ago. I've been trying for years to get Pat to sell me his "Rockpig" Telecaster with humbuckers that he used to play in the mid 80's...no luck yet... but I'm always hopeful...Hmmm, maybe I should work him for that pink Strat?!?? Ha! Takashi in Japan...email me again! My computer crashed just a day or two after your last email, and because of that I've lost your email address. Regarding that demo you were asking me about, that auction was "cancelled" and I was never able to track down the seller after the auction was removed. Sorry, but those circumstances were out of my control! As always...PTB is King! |

Rockpig-I've been away from Raleigh for close to 8 years. I've heard of the Lincoln Theatre but that's about it. The place that I "helped" Pat get into was the Longbranch. They used to split the place into a country side and a rock side. It's a really nice place and I have no idea whether it's still in operation, though I'd be surprised if it weren't. That was back when Ernie and Kevin were in the band. |

Speaking of PT gitboxs, remember the Ebay auction (I think) of the stolen but recovered Melody Maker and I think a Fender Tele a few years ago? I recall the going price on the MM was 10 grand and the Tele was....uuuhhhmmm, I think...$7500? When the two guitars first appeared up on the market, I inquired and received a reply from one Pat Travers who authenticated the sale of the guitars. Don't know if the reply was legit or not, could have been signed by another, but the email address used made me think otherwise. Anyway, I decided not to persue the fabled (at least in my book) MM. Jeez, 10 Grand! Rpig - good luck! Don't take no for an answer! Does anyone out here on this list know where the PT guitars sold several years ago ended up? T |

I'm really bothered that with all the help I've given PT in my region, someone scalped me and booked Harrahs Reno for Aug 13 and 14, when I needed him Aug 7 and 8. Some loyalty. Noone even asked me first. Hell, I booked him three years in a row up here and twice in one year and this is what happens. I give him penthouse suites at the Phoenix, buy expensive dinners and get ditched. How can a promoter guy get ahead with this kind of thing? Where was my first right of refusal? I'm so bummed it ain't funny. Nobody even called me. I also had PT penciled with other venues September 22, 23, 24 and 25. I don't feel like doing it now after seeing Harrah's up there. I'm jutst going to tell them the price went way up or something. Boy, did this booking make me feel bad. Maybe, going to the show and hearing will be good enough, but just not quite the same as buying the show myself - you know what I mean T Rich? Harrahs gets all of my thunder and hard work after promoting and building PT in Lake Tahoe and Reno again and now look what I get. Feedback anyone, Tony Lo, Rich? Ouch!!! TFC Hot August Nights really begins Wed Aug 4 and goes Thurs, Fri and Sat. People start heading home on Sunday Aug 8. Come see me at the Crystal Bay Club Casino on the north shore Tahoe on Saturday August 7 for a 60's Surf Party with Papa Doo Run Run and special guest Dean Torrance. |

Maybe PT and these venues prefer dealing with a promoter that doesn't discuss private matters on the internet such as: personal business dealings, artist fee amounts for gigs, squabbles with band members, and other private/business matters. I'm not a promoter but even I know where to draw the line. |

I think you have to have thick skin in any business and especially the entertainment industry. Then add interacting with the artist(s) themselves. Then add someone like Pat. He is down to earth family man with a heck of a busy life. You have to go extra easy on a guy like that, as the last thing he needs is more hassle(s), whether someone may perceive them to be warranted or not. Lastly... "Discretion is the better part of valour". Just keep on smilin' Life is simpler that way. Not all "bad" things the befall us are meant to. To coin a phrase... "Sh!t happens" |

As far as what venues or PT choose to deal with or what they may want to avoid......no matter what happens, it's all about the dollar. The final professional decision is money, then logistics........when bills have to be paid, friendship and loyalty become tits on a boar hog, useless. Sorry Blu......... I also agree with Blur........the less said about gig money, band squabbles and personal details in a public forum, the better. PT considers detailed personal talk on-line a pain in the ass and disrespectful. So for those that may engage in it and care for PT, try and keep this in mind the next time ya feel like airing out some laundry. God bless the faithful....lets all get along in the sandbox........play nice and I'll see ya at the Van Halen show in Sept.!!!!! Crown for everyone!!!!!! |

Randal-we all have our ups and downs and it's cool to share them here because I think of PTB fans as family. I just happen to believe that Blu would be best served by calling Pat himself or the venues, and not spreading dirty laundry on an internet message board. Blu probably doesn't like me for saying that, but I've never subscribed to popularity contests. There's really not much difference in blu and I anyway. An "r" isn't that big of a deal. |

If I recall correctly, I don't think Pat had any bidders for his guitars listed on Ebay & I haven't seen them listed since. He may have sold some of them privately though. I believe Pat's Gibson double cutaway is available if ya happen to have $20,000.00 laying around.

Hey Darren (Badger), I hope Pat NEVER sells that Gibson double cut-away! That's like Michael Schenker selling off his favorite black & white Flying V, which he actually did do a year or so ago. I know a guitar is "just a piece of wood & some wires", but it's also SO much more than that. That double cut-away is 1 of only 2 that were ever made by Gibson, the other belonging to Joe Walsh. And that guitar has been the only constant in Pat's musical career since the day he got it. It's outlasted all the musicians that have come & gone over the years. It's been with him through incredible highs and lows, and it would be a shame to see him let it go. Pat, if you see this or someone passes the message on to you...DON'T SELL IT! And as always...PTB is King! |

Boy oh boy, what a total screw job on me. - Tony Lo, How could you let it happen? Here we buy you thisd incredible wedding gift and then you drain my batteries. Or was it you. Forget informal emails, PT fans need to know that this is not a perfect world and gigs get signed without absolutely zero respect, loyalty or communication. Ed how do you dig it? Good Morning, Hey PTB, no doubt they can! The rest of the pilots are arriving this morning with full practice starting this afternoon, air strip is starting to get set up with static displays, they are going to give 10 minute flight times on NASA's F18 for $400.00 each. I plan on staying away from here this weekend, should be a great crowd! I am going to go to the Dept of Veteran Affairs - National Cemetery in Gustine (where I used to work) they are having their huge Memorial Day presentation and this year it is honoring the Marine Corp! Semper Fi!! All you Europeans have a great time at the shows! Emailed my cousins in Holland to see if they are going waiting to hear from them!

Sorry everyone. I just saw my last drunken email. No excuse. Just had those "Bad, Bad Feelings Again" I need to meditate or something. I guess I'm just too much of a major fan of Pat, since 1977 and his band memebers, that I take everything real hard. I feel like I've been grazed by a bullet. "Put the blinds on the windows and a lock on the door", is that how it goes Greg? |

This is too cool! I think it is the same plane as the "Top Gun" planes practicing right now he is shaking the whole building!! Earlier it was the small bi-planes doing all of their tricks, but I love these planes, he flies by silently and then 3-5 seconds later is the sound, too cool! It was pouring here this morning when I got in to work and right now it is really cloudy and cold, hope it remains as nice weekend here for everyone coming to this airshow, the boys "Thunderbirds" were practicing again this morning, they really are amazing! This guy now just flew by upside down with the windows rattling!! He just did another fly by with his burners on! Have a great weekend everyone! |

Yeah Greg, I'd like some of what you're on. Sounds like fun! I need something as a pick-me-up. I found out this week that my company doesn't need any work in Delaware and that they were going to give us 30-90 days to find other jobs. Maybe I could be the PTB chauffer!!!!!(lol) I'm an excellent driver! (right Rick and Eric? Can I turn right on red?! LOL) Just to let you know, when I asked them that question, one said yes and the other said no. Anyway, I'm not in too much of a hurry to get back into physical therapy. I think I'm burnt out in the field (it's been 12 years). Any ideas from the peanut gallery? How 'bout I be a pilot? Greg, that way we could all get to the Europe shows! Well, I hope you guys are having a great time playing in Europe! Do you even check the board while you're over there? Just wondering. Have a happy Memorial Day weekend, everyone! Be safe and don't drop your beer! ~~Nancy~~ |

HEY ERIC!!! I was just over at the BAR site and saw that you were there just over an hour ago!!! I assume (ass-u-me) that you peep in here from time to time, while youz guyz are invading Europe. So what`s the word from the front lines!?!? How goes "Operation Griswald"? By the way, I got the name Griswald from a funny Chevy Chase movie entitled "European Vacation". The Griswald`s were Chevy`s family name, and everything goes whack on them in the movie. SO HOW GOES IT "FREIGHT"? Gill, Andrie, Snorks, I tip my PTB Stalker hat to you guys. Hey, anybody take pics of "Operation Griswald"? Nancy, bummer to hear about the job situation. Maybe it`s about time to move on back to Floriduh. I owe a lot to post-operation physical therapy. Back in the long ago days of my youth, I spent a lot of time getting my skeleton re-arranged thanks to bone cancer, not much "thanks" though. Anyhow, after my PT (that`s physical therapy, not...Pat Travers) session the final exercise was a walk up 7 flights of stairs, back to my bed. Well, I used to hobble up one flight of stairs, and then take the elavator. It was a good plan until one day I pushed the elavator button, and when the door opened, there was my physical therapist! She worked me like the dog that I am for the next 6 weeks! S'later, JH TCF, keep yer head low! |

Hi there! Our asses hurt, cause it's kicked very hard! WOHOOOO! what a great show yesterday. They were headlining a festival. The whole day there were shitty soft bluesbands, so it was a relief when PTB entered the stage. The sound was good and hard! of course. Man, we needed a PTB-fix badly. Just before the show Rick found us on the field, it was so good to see him again. Stumbling with words, nervous like kids, haha. And now we heard Crash and Burn for the first time on this tour, it sounded great! Further the usual great songs and as encore the Powertriosong Inside Looking Out. That sounded awesome too! Man, we feel good During Rick's solo we saw Eric filming the crowd, with The Dutch Hammerheads After the show we all met and talked, they are all in a good mood, so everything is fine, Americans! Don't worry. Anyway, we are ready for tonight. WE'RE GONNA PARTY!!!!!! It's a half hour drive from here, so peace of cake. And we can party very long, hopefully, cause France is cancelled for tomorrow...Not good for the band, but they can be relaxed, and not getting to tired this way. Next update will follow tomorrow, I guess... Greetingzz The Dutch Hammerheads! |

Hello everyone...hope all had a good Memorial Day weekend. TCF, I would love to see an airshow, but the closest one to here (Andrews AFB) is too far a drive and usually a zoo. Saw this surfing the web...thought it was interesting: A couple of random excerpts from “Metal-Sludge.Com: 20 Questions with Paul Gilbert” (For those of you who don't know who he is, was one of 2 guitarists for the speed-metal band par excellence "Racer X" and then the guitarist for "Mr. Big"). Q1. What are you currently up to? Get all of your plugs out of the way now so we can get down to business. Ans: I'm trying to sell this stupid old car that I bought on ebay. What was I thinking?... I'm taking a vacation from self-promotion, so I'll plug my favorite Pat Travers album, "Go For What You Know". Buy it and rock. 14. What 'rock star' deserves a smack in the mouth and why? I saw Pat Travers around 1983. He had this harmonica player who played in every song and made all the metal songs sound bluesy. That was just wrong. Does anyone know anything about this? Doesn’t sound familiar to me. Well, time for bed Ciao, y'all Carl |
