I have a feeling you're going to be a "rich" man very soon. (Snare, snare, crash!)

Ever see the ebay auction for the guy that says he'll come kick your ass? All you have to do is promise to fly him to wherever you live and not press charges or file any lawsuits. People actually bid on it! Too funny.

I think TNA's got a June release date, MissingMars.

I saw the hardest working, crack smokin', wife beatin' man in show business last night. James Brown is 71 years old, and the man still puts on a great show. He had a huge band (2 guitarist, 2 bassists, 2 drummers, 3 piece horn section, percussionist, Hammond B-3 keyboardist, 3 girl back up vocals, 2 "fly girl" dancers, a pimp looking emcee, and some other dude that pretty much just stood there all night and every now and then he'd sing some sort of scat/back up vocals. It was definitely a cool show to see, and the band was tight, tight, tight! It's hard to beat a JB groove, and I was imagining how Pat's solos would sound over it (I imagined it sounded good!).

If JB can kick it that well at 71, we should have Pat around for a LONG time! Gotta love that!

And as always...PTB is King!

Meeeee Three!!!! Yeach!!

As an aside, I am getting some virus infected emails from at least two people on this board. I am not angry at all as I have a great, up-to-date (the operative phrase!) anti-virus program, AND, I use Yahoo which has some great built-in stuff! I am merely letting everyone know that you should have some protection! And if you don't, don't open ANY attachments from anyone you don't know! And if you DO know them, BE SUSPECT ANYWAY!!!

Remember, if you don't want an infection, wrap your connection!!

JB, who`s names are listed with the infected e-mails. I know it is usually not their fault.

The weekend is rapidly approaching which means two PTB shows for me!!! YEOWZA, YEOWZA!!!

Last weekend I was hanging out with my favorite local band, the Hep Cat Boo Daddies, and they told me that they were opening for Steve Winwood May 1st at a big festival in nearby West Palm Beach. Steve played keyboards, lead vocals, and wrote, for Traffic. Back in the long ago days of my youth I used to frequently play Traffic`s "Shoot Out at the Fantasy Factory" album while burning, but not inhaling, reefer.

Sorry guys NASA IT Security is working on this and we have a good anti-virus system, however, it seems to be breaking through the firewalls or something?? I Have been informed by relatives in the cleveland metropolitan area that the one and only Mr. Pat Travers will be performing a solo show on the 7th of may. I see no mention of this on the gigs schedule so i'm a little skeptical that this may be a hoax to get me into town a couple days earlier than planned. usually bypass the family obligations to party at cedar point and have no intentions of altering my philosphy now. But if this is somehow an alignment of the planets and Pat is rocking in cleveland on the 7th that would just be too cool. As always Pat rocks and the P.T.B. rocks even HARDER.

Bummer Peachking & gREG!!! I sure hope da guyz find there way back to yer nieghborhoods real soon!

This past Saturday I idled on up to nearby Orlando and rolled into Mulldoons at about 2:30 in the afternoon. Muldoons is an old, popular, local beer joint, the kinda place where somebody knows yer name. They had a small rusty flat bed truck trailer set up as a stage. There was a big barbecue grill cooking up pork sandwiches, beans, and such. There were large tubs of ice cold beer chilling. There were around a hundred or so people milling about. The place was like a big backyard BBQ, where friends and nieghbors come to just hang out in thier underwear and relax. The first band was onstage, and Eric was working the sound board. A couple of good local bands played for about an hour or so each. Later in the afternoon Rick showed up and then a little while later PT strolled in wearing a sleeeveless T-shirt, an old pair of shorts, and sneakers. As the sun was just begining to go away, the guys took the stage. PT was in a great mood and in a very polite, and funny, manner told the crowd that they were there to kick ass. The guys jumped into and for about the next hour or so rocked the party! After the set PT hung around for awhile and sold CD`s and schmoozed with the crowd. Next up was Bad Ass REK, with the new guitarist. I`ll let Eric tell ya all about him, but I will tell ya that he is talented!!! BAR was onstage for well over an hour and a half playing a wide variety of tunes for the now sizeable crowd. As BAR was winding down, I split and headed over to the motel.

The next morning I did the Denny`s thing and then went over to Leesburg, about a 45 minute drive, for the biker jamboree, where BAR and PTB were featured. This time the guys had a big full size stage. BAR arrived a little after noonish and setup. BAR took the stage a little after one and got the good size crowd rockin' pretty quick. About 20 minutes or so before the end of BAR`s set, PT came up to the back of the stage, with his daughter. After BAR`s set, PT did a sound check while Rick and Eric chilled out. A short while later, it was ass kickin' time! PT growled into the mic and for the next hour and half the guys hammered the audience without mercey! After the set, the guys went over and sold and signed CD`s while shaking babies and kissing hands. I said "Adios" to the buckaroos, jumped into my jalopy, and rode off into the sunset.

S'later, JH

My day to day life can become so "everyday" and I find great enjoyment from the other side. Old age and a life on the road playing rock-n-roll (sex, drugs and rock-n-roll that is) has taken its toll on the oz.....but he certainly looks happy. And thats all that counts. I find it more disgusting driving into ANY town and seeing the homeless bum for money, jobless people w/ great skills, children brought into this world by children, health insurance costs that suck ass, the talk of bringing back the draft......etc. So I welcome Ozzy's walk through life. g

That's a nice take on things, greg. I guess what I'm trying to say is that when a musician's personal life overtakes the music in the eyes of the public it's a turnoff for me. However, the Pepsi commercial with the Osmond's was great. I can always get lost in "Diary Of A Madman".

Speaking of great music, I've been watching more of the Zeppelin DVD tonight. FANTASTIC! "Going To California" and "That's The Way" nearly brought me to tears. Such diversity...

Seriously, gREG I couldn't agree with your statements more...very well put.

I do agree with you as well Blur...Diary Of A Madman (and Blizzard Of Oz) are miles away from the Ozzy of late. It was a real treat to hear Pat on the big screen, if ya know what I mean . . .

That picture of Paul Gilbert in the striped outfit looks like a young PT. I've seen other pictures of Paul and he looks like Pat in them as well. I have that Westwood One show of Pat from '83 that has all the harmonica playing on it, and it's one of my least favorites. The whole time I'm hearing all of the harmonica playing (and it's ALL OVER the place!) I can only think "That should be Pat or a 2nd guitarist soloing there!". Personally, I'm glad that was a short lived experiment.

Thanks Paul for spreading the PT Gospel!!

Thanks for the Paul Gilbert interview link, that was great! Paul was a teacher way back when I went to guitar school in Hollyweird, and he was always very funny, and inspiring. He liked to come in with obscure rock tunes & see who knew them, and sure 'nuff, once it was Go All Night. He was impressed that I got it! He raved about the Go For What You Know album that whole day!

Thanks for the plug gREG! I agree the Zeppelin DVD is the single greatest thing I've ever seen...

Cheers!

There was a small write up about Pat when his first Blues Bureau release (Blues Tracks) came out and he mentioned in it that at some point he would like to have people guest on one of his future projects. He specifically mentioned Jake E. Lee, Nuno Bettencourt & Paul Gilbert as three pickers that he'd like to work with. Unfortunately, that has never developed, but I have read numerous interviews of all three and they've mentioned Pat as a big influence.

I've also ordered a CD from Japan that is Nuno, Paul, Steve Hackett of early Genesis and I believe Jack Bruce of Cream doing a show in Japan that has been released, in Japan only. That show kicks off with Paul & Nuno doing a cover of "Gettin' Betta". How's that for a tribute? I believe Randy, our brother in S. Korea, had mentioned something about this show several months ago.

Looking to nail tickets this Saturday for the upcoming Velvet Revolver Seattle show in June. I hear they're selling out shows fast! Catch 'em if you can, 'cause these guys ROCK!

And as always...PTB is King!

gREG, come on out, that'd be awesome! Bring the kids to Disneyland & Zepagain, now there's a family vacation! Keep me posted, so I'll hold some comp tix for you.

Rockpig, didn't know that show was released on CD. I got a copy of the DVD from Randy, and it's killer! The opening version of Gettin Betta is ripping!

Cheers!

Yeah Steve, you can order it as a special edition CD/DVD combo. I goofed..it's John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin, not Jack Bruce of Cream on bass.

Rich -- good luck FINDING the skin flute at 5:15 a.m. at the end of a meth binge . . . 'nuff said! Guess that's why we don't do that no more!

gREG -- to burn a cd you hit the eject button, take the cd out and light a match to it. It works great! Oddly enough, I've never gotten one to play back for some reason . . .

gREG -- YAYEESSSS!!! I got 'em yesterday! WAY cool! I think I had seen the "Freightrain as Devil" shot posted way back when, but the one of you, me, Rick and Eric (oh yeah -- and Jack) in the hotel room at Santa Ana is one I had not seen. THANK YOU! I'm not worthy! I'm not worthy!

Sorry to hear about Lisa. I guess the worst that could happen is that they'd have to pull all her teeth out -- and I'm gonna leave that one alone.

OUCH! (that was for Lisa, and for Randall's comment!) I had the same thing when I was 17, got all 4 of em pulled, and went to a Heart concert about 3 days later. I was swollen up like a chipmunk, high on pain pills and other, um, stuff, and couldn't keep from eating my friend's Doritos, no matter how much it hurt! Ah, those were the days!

Wish her well for me, and hope you guys can still make it.

Ed, hope we see you tonight!

Steve
