Seems gREG had a real good weekend too, cool!

Joan Jett put on a real good show in front of about 2000 or so. She did a lot of her old stuff as well as some soon to be released stuff during the free hour and a half show. It was an outdoor gig and the sun was bright, the air was cool, and the beer was cold. She really did get the crowd going. I bought her "Greatest Hits" CD for $10 and she signed it for me. She hung around for about an hour and a half afterthe show just signing, posing for pics and such!

Hey Rich, I can`t find that "Horse" anywhere! Ya might wanna give Pat/Rick/Eric a shout and see where in wandered off to.

I then headed on over to catch BAR. Rick wasn`t there because his brother was getting "hitched". Standing in for was a good friend of theirs named Rob. The band really got the joint jumping! The dance floor got so crowded at one point that the girls jumped up onstage to shake it. I`m telling ya, BAR really is a great and and are in demand there in the central Floriduh area.

Well, it`s off towork now so`s I can pay for this past weekend.

S'later, JH

RIGHT ON!!!
Steve Z, we are up on the giant lighted Marqui today and will remain their until you get here. Concert Services International presents LED ZEP-AGAIN FRI. MARCH 12 9pm. Your posters are all over the place. PT sold the show out completely. Late ticket seekers and casino visitors were however treated to a direct feed of the show linked through a sophisticated camera system sending the show to the 52 plasma screens in the casino. The same will happen to you buddy. Can't wait to see you guys.

Thanks TCF, Tony was tired when he got there, so natutally he forgot. but he will probably take care of me via mail. The show sizzled. Stevie was gut wrenching - like nothing I ever heard before. Almost made me cry!!! PT played at maximum decibels all night. He was so on. Wowee, wow!!

Randy, get up here dude. I don't know about May, I have Montrose and Trower. But I know about June and September during Street Vibrations. Do you have a Harley? Remember, ths summer shows are on our 2,000 cap. rooftop lake view concert amphitheater. The only one in the State.

Hwy 61, Voodoo Chile, Hooked on Music, Life in London, Makin Magic (ouch), Snortin Whiskey, Stevie (boo hoo), Boom Boom, Inside Looking Out (tough) Rock N' Roll Susie, The Carmen tune, A Vivaldi solo that stunned me hard and many others, including Statesboro. It Just Makes No Difference(wicked) as PT held the crowd in the palm of his hand, he smiled all night long, loved the setup and congratulated me on the excellent arrangements. I am one promoter who advertises the living you know out of a show. Quarter page, half page, full page ads hut hut. Major newspaper write-ups (big stories) - it all worked. Thanks Pat - You are DA MAN!!! Now get some sleep!!!

Hey Tom, Sorry to bring you down, but... the "re-masters" are all defective(evidently). Mine and everyone else I have spoken to say the same thing. They all have static completely through the entire CD. So far we have all gotten our money back. I do not know if every single one of them is that way or just every single person we have heard from. Put it this way... I have not heard from a single person who said they had a good copy. Let the buyer beware I guess.

LOL! Actually it was warm(er) today. Or so I noticed for the 15 seconds or so I had to enjoy it. Rumor has it there MIGHT be gig in Virginia. It would be nice to get rocked again. Seems like I am due for a nice ear blaster! Might have to hop a jet to really see a show. Wish I was clever enough to figure out how to put a gig together, but I think it is just not in me to do it. That would also assume we have the extra time to devote to something like that. Lately we sure don't. Trying to gear up for that big move to Florida's sunny gulf shores. 24 months and counting. THEN we can see all the gigs we would like. LOL! Watch Pat move to the west coast or Canada. Nahhh, I doubt it. This mid-atlantic weather can kiss my butt!

Props to ya Blu for the outstanding show at Crystal Bay this weekend!!! What a cool intimate little setting! Bet all the dealers were just shouting, PT was playin' loud! Awesome version of Voodoo Chile among the smokin' setlist. PT 8 feet in front of me and 5 min from my front door, gotta love it!
Bring on the next one, Zepagain. Look forward to Montrose and bring up some more of that Bay Area talent, how about Y&T, Night Ranger, Tesla? Yngwie's playing down in Sac at the Roadhouse in a couple weeks, that'd be just too damn cool/funny, Yngwie at the Crystal Bay Club.

Word to the wise - stay away from the Horse. The king is not thrilled. Wait for a real label release with the tunes and be cool...Get ready to buy the Carmen-PT CD. The Horse is not authorized!

'Gator country....gimme tha' CHOMP-CHOMP!

Hey Gin, you gettin' a "little man complex" livin' up there in the next smallest state in the union? LOL! Hey! You could be in Rhode Island!

By the way...I never bothered buying the new Majestic reissues, 'cause my LDS reissues sound just fine to me!

The Hendrix Anniversary Tribute show here in Seattle was pretty amazing! Probably one of the most fun shows I've been to in a while. Living Color, Jerry Cantrell, Buddy Guy, Paul Rodgers, Kenny Wayne Shepard backed by Stevie Ray Vaughn's bass player & drummer (Double Trouble) and Buddy Guy doing an amazing acoustic set, and then a blazing electric set with Hubert Sumlin backed by Mitch Mitchell & Billy Cox??? Simply a fun, amazing evening. And for the finale, ALL musicians played a messy version of "Purple Haze". Can you imagine something like 14 guitars, basses & drums blazing at one time? That was the only bad spot of the evening, but it was still a sight to watch. And Paul Rodgers still has a fantastic voice after all these years. Anybody in Portland or the Bay area catch this show too?

And as always...PTB is King!

Heads up Hammerheads... Over at MelodicRock.com they have a CD Showcase on the new PT Majestic Reissues. On their main page, it will be listed along the left column. You'll find a picture of Putting It Straight...click on that picture to take you to the page. Funny, but they mention nothing about all the static and noise on those releases...

Okay... here is a direct email from Majestic..
"The albums you talk of were in fact taken from safety DAT's supplied to us by Universal music in London and approved by Pat Travers himself. We are aware that there is some high end digital noise, and we attempted to remove as much of this as we could in the mastering process.

Ever wondered why these superb albums had never made in onto CD before? We did, and its because no usable master existed - or seemed to exist. We effectively had to start from scratch with these recordings. Sorry you're unhappy, but this is as good as it is likely to get for the foreseeable future."

Hmmm... I guess that about sums it up. By the way on the edge of Putting it says "Putting it Striaght" I guess the spell check was turned off as well as the volume control knob. Maybe they were shaving with and electric razor in the studio during the entire mastering session? Just wondering.

Dream Theater is an absolutely kick ass group of musicians....I have thier stuff and respect it for being so unique. The Dreggs with Steve Morse are the same in that no one else does that style of music.
The Texas dates start next week.....we've actually got radio coverage for most shows, that's a huge surprise. On-site radio promos are hard to get for our rock & roll anymore....too much money and NO radio format. Austin, Lake Charles and Wichita Falls will all have radio stations on site for PT, Greg T. and Simon.......which by the way, PT has asked that shows with anyone other than Eric and Rick NOT be billed as THE Pat Travers Band. Cool....looks like he's made a decision on that issue now. We're changing all billing to Pat Travers starring Greg T. Walker & Simon Wright! What ever works for everyone involved is great for those of us that bill it, sell it, listen to it or buy it! We hope to see everyone possible at all shows possible.....Jim, email me wildman! TraversChick.....the tour t-shirts look great, wish you were here! Everyone rock hard and get Tesla's new release Tuesday March 9th!!! It smokes!! Texas Rich....packing for the road!

THIS JUST IN.....Two new dates. Saturday April 24th Pat Travers Band will be performing at the 2004 Musicians Showcase at Muldoons outdoor stage in Winter Park, FL along with great local bands such as Control Freak, The Hayz, and more to be announced! I will post showtimes as they are decided. Muldoons is a favorite to both Pat and the boys so a party will definitely break out during this one!

The other is the very next day in Leesburg, FL at the Leesburg bike fest. The crowd last year was 70,000 plus so this one should definitely ROCK.

Big thank you to Don Barnard for makin' this stuff happen! Also thanks for taking the time to bring us some needed gear last weekend!

On another note Rick and I did our first show with Brian Howe last Sunday at the Lake Monroe Inn. What a blast. Dean reminded us just how amazing he is once again by guiding Rick and myself through the set while still pulling off double duty guitar wise. Brian sounded great and we couldn't have asked for a better turn out. Great great great...

Yes, Dream Theater Rocks! Carl, you may have me beat, I don't think I'm quite over 15 times yet! Definitely at least 10, though, and always amazing.

Did you hear what they did here at the LA show? It was the 15th anniversary of their debut album, When Dream & Day Unite, so for the second set, they played the entire album! Then for the encores, they brought out the original singer, Charlie Dominici, and last keyboardist, Derek Sherinian to sit in! Definitely a rockin' night!

Gettin ready to invade Tahoe & Reno this weekend!

Hey TCF,

I remember Giant. They had a fairly decent hit with "I'm A Believer" off of their first release "Last Of The Runaways". Dan Huff is a monster guitarist, and does lots of studio session work. They did in fact tour some, as I saw them in concert, must have been around '89 or '90. Good band...and they have several releases. You just gotta search 'em out.

On another note, glad to see Pat himself request the distinction between being billed as THE PAT TRAVERS BAND and PAT TRAVERS Featuring....
Very good move on Pat's behalf!

Hey Nitro,

You had to PAY to get the password???

All you had to do was go to Rush.com, sign up as a fan member (free) and they'd email you the password (for free). Then all you had to do was go back to Rush.com, click the pre-sale link and you were on your way! By the way...those needing the password...it's KIMONO...

Got my tix as soon as they went on sale yesterday (for the same White River Amphitheater show in Seattle). It took over an hour to get through, but I got dead center at the back of level 1, so I'm a happy camper!

Please tell us you didn't pay too much for the free information!?!?!? It really bums me how some people scam to get other people's money. I hate scalpers!

Anyway..cool that you got tix Nitro. Enjoy the show..I certainly will!

Everyone have fun in Texas!! TRich, I sent you an email.

I remember Riggs. Had a cassette by them. They had a song in the Heavy Metal movie.

I surprised to find out last year that Mark played with PT for awhile.

Mother's Finest (anyone, anyone? Bueller? I have two vinyl from them - funk rock, an almost albino guitar player, some really good groovy funky rock!)

I bought a Mother's Finest album back in the day... you're description is right on the target also.

They still play - although I'm sure there's been some changes to the band line-up. They are one of those bands that never really made it big in America - but did well in Europe - especially in Germany. So they still tour - but mostly in Europe. They were on Rockpalast back in the day, and I think a recent concert was (is going to be) broadcast on Rockpalast.

Another band that has a good following in Germany, but is a has-been in the US is Mitch Ryder. He is going to be on Rockpalast next month - they're rebroadcasting a concert from '79, and then newly broadcasting one filmed a few months ago. Most of the band members look like they have German names - so it looks like he's gone as far as going local for band member support. Probably helps a lot financially.

Some of the best PT shows I ever saw were with Pat & Jerry! Especially when Mars had come back to the fold. Check out the Boom Boom live video, or Ginbel's Super Saver DVD for some great stuff!

I know that now! Sad to say, I lost track of PT for about 15 years. I saw his encore when he opened for Aerosmith show in '82 (I think), then the roller-coaster of life took over. Work consumed my life (restaurant management) and then another shot at college. No turntable so all the albums were stored. I forgot about PT.

Then, about 5 years I caught a tiny ad in the paper that he was playing in town and dragged my friend Ray to see him.

As you all can well imagine, that reignited the fire.

Man, did I miss him and didn't even know it!

I now I know you guys too!

Heads up Hammerheads! Got this from the WWW.MELODICROCK.COM website....

TRAVERS & APPICE BAND - NAME CHANGE - CD ENTITLED "IT TAKES A LOT OF BALLS":
New York - Because of another existing band with the same name, the forthcoming new recording project from drummer Carmine Appice and Pat Travers will now be called Travers & Appice. Their forthcoming CD (produced with Greg Hampton), to be released worldwide on the German-based SPV label has now been re-titled "It Takes A Lot Of Balls".
Says Appice, "Things happens... we had to change the name, but it's a killer project nonetheless ... rock-ing very hard. Bassist TM Stevens, who played on a Fudge tour a few years back, is on it too. I'm very proud of this one. SPV is releasing it worldwide and we expect to have an instant smash." Appice debuted a rough cut of one of the tracks on NY's WAXQ last week when he appeared on the Scott Muni Show (with producer Zach Martin) with his brother Vinny.

It sure sounds like this is a return to the ROCKIN' side of our man Pat, and less of the traditional blues thing he's done for the last 10 years or so....Myself, I'm really excited to hear this! Now if we can just get something like this with Eric & Rick onboard as well...Something to do with a horse...??? And maybe they can get "Mark Riggs" involved too! LOL!

And as always...PTB is King!

Ooops...I meant to say "less of the traditional blues/ROCK thing Pat's done for the last 10 years or so..."

I would not categorize Pat's version of the blues as traditional blues at all! I'd give that distinction to someone such as Robert Johnson...

Sorry for the error......

Poor Randy. One day again you and PT will hook up. Living so far away you miss out on a lot. I lived in Germany 1975 - 1980. Best years of my life, eventhough it was isolated and a long way from home the benefits far outweighed the drawbacks. Probably still would too.

But Ed...

You got to see some concerts in Germany... they rarely have them here in Korea. Although Deep Purple is playing at the end of the month. I'll be an SOB if the Army doesn't have me doing other stuff at that time though.

I'll be in the States for one week in May (Nor Cal), three weeks in July (Michigan), and three weeks in August (AZ) - so one way or another - I'm going to see a few shows.

I'm already planning on seeing Heart in Phoenix in August.

Rich, great that your PT shows are going so well. Keep up the good work. As for Zep Again, they simply crushed both venues to death. 2 plus hour shows and packed sellouts. The Crystal Bay Club was the funnest, but both nights were a jewel. Gotta go to the bank now, laughing all the way. (lol). Led Zep Again is the real deal, they are dead on and the drummer is Bonham reincarnated. Songs like Moby Dick really showed off well. Swan is too good to be true, Steve Z is a gall darn master of Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones does it all with the Bass and Keys. I have been emailed to death about repeat performances already and the shows were just FRi and Sat? - Rock on in Texas see PT back here in Tahoe in September. Thanks - Blu

Hey Beseau,

When you hit the PT shows in Tejas, ask Pat for any info about his upcoming release with Carmine Appice....oh, and ROCK OUT!

To Gil Comer...I agree with you about the tragedy that happened in Spain last week. Does anybody realize that what happened in Spain on 3/11 was EXACTLY 911 DAYS after our own tragedy in New York on 9/11???? Any guesses if that was intentional or coincidence????

Great to hear that Zep Again went over so well once again. Way to go Steve!
