BUMMER about the Palm Bay show!!! Thanks for letting me know! I`ve seen some publicity about the Lauderdale gig so it should be a full house.

Ed, I did take a few pics at the show this past weekend and when I get around to scanning them into my kumpewtr, I`ll e-mail them to you. Yeah, I`ll have a camera at this Friday`s show too. Oh yeah, The "St. Petersburg area mob", "SPAM", (Mitch, Kim, Julie, and DJ, of Mitch, Kim, Julie, and DJ, fame) took a bunch of pics too, so I`ll see what we can get from them.

Hey Blu -

Been in the new Crystal Bay Club quite a few times, it's where I make my football bets. The old showroom was where the restaurant is now, whereabouts is the showroom where PT is playin'? Didn't think they had any decent sized rooms there. And no, haven't grabbed a ticket yet. Tryin' to rally the lazy NLT troops to go rock out with PT! But I'll be there fer sure!!!

Hey Ed, thanks for the shot of Pat and Rick -- THAT's a sight I haven't seen in awhile!

Strat, I'm still on the fence about Sunday night. I was gonna ask you to talk me into it . . . it's not a show I WANT to miss, but I'd have to get rolling early to get to PA on time the next morning so I'm trying to gauge how much fun a guy like me might have at that show and how hard it might be to get up the next mornin' . . . it don't look good! gREG, have fun with the boys and don't get stumped

They all say "Hi!", and wish you were here!

Sorry about the pic quality, I really gotta clean the inside of my scanner. What I really gotta do is go freakin' digital!

Rick is leaning over my shoulder making sure I get it right. He says I`m fired! Oh well.
Well I`ll get back to ya`ll when all this nonsense is done.

And Bette, about me being spoiled, it`s like a great philosopher, and a personal hero, once sang, "Life`s been good to me so far, YEAH, YEAH, YEAH!"-Ethel Merman..., or maybe it was Joe Walsh. I always get those two confused.

MelodicRock.com :TNA TRAVERS & APPICE COMING IN SPRING ON GERMAN SPV LABEL:
New York Legendary rock-drummer Carmine Appice has announced the completion of his collaboration with guitarist Pat Travers, to be titled TNA. The disc will initially be released on the German-based label SPV. According to Appice, who kicks off a month-and-half European tour with Vanilla Fudge March 10, "The recording just flowed and we essentially wrote the album in the studio. We went in thinking maybe one track or two, but it just kind of wrote itself. It's some of the best music I've ever wrote and recorded. My thinking is that our audience will just eat this up. I've admired Pat for years and the collaboration was well worth the wait."

Sorry for not posting sooner, but blah, blah, blah, is the reason for the delay. Anyhow, what an evening it was!!! Rick and Eric pretty much set up the sound system themselves, while PT did a quick check and then went off to meet up with an old friend. As show time approached, my friend Sandy, and her/our friends hooked up for dinner as a great local blues band opened. We were seated right next to the stage, close to Pat`s mic. As the opening band was winding down, I heard a burst of laughter from the bar behind me. I turned around and there was Pat whooping it up with Mars.

A short while later Rick, Eric, and Pat, took the stage. They did a real quick sound check and then Pat glanced at they guys and then stepped to the mic and said, "My name is Pat Travers, this is my band, and were here to KICK YER ASS!!!". They instantly exploded into "Hooked on Music". For the next hour and a half they HAMMERED the audience, only pausing between songs to reload. The crowd LOVED every minute of it!!! During "Crash and Burn", I turned around and looked at Mars and he was just sitting there with a huge grin! While PT was doing his solo number Rick and Eric ran over to Mars and tried to drag him onstage, but he wouldn`t budge. It was really a fantabulous evening.

I ran into some other PT fans/groupies/stalkers there that peep in on this board from time to time, but never post. Come on peoples, don`t be shy, the more the funner!

I also ran into some old family friends, the Nuta family, that I hadn`t seen in about 15 years. Hey Chris, I hope I wasn`t kissing to much on your lady. I was a little bit drunk, but hey, you were buying. The pic of ya`ll with PT came out fine.

Oh man, I get to do it all again next weekend, WOOHOO!

Also (this is incredibly stupid!) the song "As my life flies" Is listed as... "As my fire flies" LOL!! You gotta be kidding me?! Furthermore even with out the static it sound shrill and dead compared to the one I have already. They should have copied mine. LOL! I have Makin' on the way also. Why do I have this feeling it is going to be a disapointment also? Hey Missing did you get yours yet? You have the expert ear. Hey Stalker did you find that .... horse?

Okay campers... just got a confirmation from someone who got Debut and Makin'... they SUCK!! Static and digital artifacts throughout the recordings! Jesus! Doesn't anyone proof this stuff?! They are getting a full refung through NEH Records and so will I! I cancelled my existing order for Makin'. What a disapointment. I am sure Pat is not at all happy about this. Hopefully they will be issuing a FULL recall of all products BEFORE they give Pat and the existing recordings a bad name. This sucks! Oh well... I'll guess I'll get back on the "Horse"

Can I buy a vowel? LOL! I have zero clue. I can't see how any comment on this situation could be inflamatory. Seems fair to call it like you see it. I am just disapointed. I thought two things might come of this... 1.I would get some releif and the opportunity to get to a LOT of stuff that remains in the "vaults". 2.Pat would get some VERY much deserved respect and recognition/attention. Both in a way will come to pass, but not in an acceptable way. Looks to me that the current situation might tarnish his image more than help it. HOPEFULLY the powers that be at Majestic Rock are on top of this(I doubt it), and are fixing it as we speak(see previous comment). I am trying to remain optimistic as it is in Pat's best interest that this gets fixed asap.

And to the Ginbels I say, "Rock On!" If you fill in the blanks it says "Why would we need inferior major and/or minor label releases of Pat's work that we already have incredible quality versions of through the efforts of one of our own who put's all the money back into the hands of the man himself!?"

Or something really close! There was some really inflammatory stuff in there that I edited out!

The reason we need/want someone bigger to do this is that Pat gets publishing and much need distribution. This opens many other opportunities for him and the rest of the band as well. It is just a shame that this is not going right. At least not right now. I am guessing that there will be a secong release. That is just a guess though. Time will tell.

Well, tomorrow is Friday so it must be time for PT!!! I`ll be sneaking out of work early tomorrow to head on up to Orlando to catch him again with Rex Rodgers. By the way, BAR had already booked a gig for this Friday when this PT deal came up so that`s why Eric and Rick won`t be with him. Then on Saturday afternoon, it`ll be Joan Jett for a free show at a local biker rally there in O-Town. After the JJ thing, I`ll slide on over to Cocoa Beach to catch BAR at a ocean front bar. Seems like a mighty nice plan, huh?

Now rest assured that I`ll be on my best behavior, given my reprehensible behavior last weekend. Lest I besmirch the hallowed reputation of stalkers everywhere! But then again, sometimes things just kinda happen, ya know!?!?

Well, it was a short, but sweet, set last night. The Rex Rodgers band got lost on the way over to the club last night and the show was about half hour late getting started. The RR band is indeed very talented, and they are good bunch of guys too. The RR band opened and played about 6 of their own original tunes and then PT joined them on stage. Pat opened with "Statesboro Blues" and then went into "Gettin' Bette'". Next, and much to my surprise, the band went into "Snortin'" which then rolled into "Boom Boom". Pat then did a short solo and then thanked the crowd for coming to the show. He then mentioned that he had to get up early to catch a plane to the west coast. The crowd kept cheering and the band then came back onstage and did "One way Out" as their encore. The guys did hang around for a few minutes to "shake babies and kiss hands", and then they were gone. I gotta check out of the motel now, and then it`ll be Joan "Bad Reputation" Jett this afternoon with BAR this evening. Don`t all of you wish you were me? (ha, ha, ha,)

Hey Steve, Arleene, myself and my other sister in law went to see Rick Springfield last night, interesting show! He is a good peformer and his band his really good. We left after he sang "Kristina" to go see the Heartbreakers at the Kingshead in Campbell. Do you know these guys, Stewart (plays your part), Jeff, Marcus and I didn't get the chance to meet the drummer (Arleene is pretty good friends with these guys), they did a fantastic job! The place was packed and they looked and sounded like Led Zep. We are hoping to make it to Tahoe to watch you guys!

Blu, saw Tony and his fiancee' last night they too had to get Rick to his hotel because they are headed to Tahoe also, and I reminded him of your request!

Have fun tonight! Should be a a great show!

Has anyone heard of a band called The Darkness? They have a song that gets played a lot of VH1 called "I Believe In A Thing Called Love". I just bought the cd tonight, and if you like straight ahead rock this is a solid effort. If you can get past the sometimes-annoying falsetto of the lead singer it's a keeper.

Thanks for the new Spanish gig guys...I'm going to Madrid so...I wonder how far Pamplona is...

And as for the Darkness...they're HUGE in the UK at the moment. It's a great album but totally over the top..almost but not quite a spoof band.

As for the falsetto, there's definately some Queen in there, plus quite a bit of AC/DC. Makes a nice change to see a rock bank at number one though.

I've now listened to the cd a few times. I hear some AC/DC, Queen, Bowie, Zeppelin, and The Cult influences. Definitely over the top, but some pretty solid songwriting and playing.

Some pretty explicit lyrics as well. They actually CARDED me at the store when I bought it! A couple of blatant songs about heroin addiction, as well as "Get Your Hands Off My Woman MF'er". LOL!

I heard that Darkness song about a hundred GAZZILION times at a topless bar.......that I mistakenly stumbled into, of course. Well, saw Steve's band Led Zepagain blow the doors off of Alicecooperstown last night. They are becoming quite the DRAW in Phoenix! Huge crowd! Steve, next time ya gotta eat more than a salad......Lisa says so! Our house yer house if ya wanna head back here for the Travers show. Gonna try and do some more 2am frisbee w/ Eric and Rick. Ya'll gotta see Zepagain when ya get the chance! Tell Jim he "is" Bonham! g

greg-can you give me a bit more detail on that one? That's another one that's got me intrigued, and I can't say that about too much of the newer music these days.

gREG, great to see & hang with you guys last night! Your quaint little town out there ROCKS! What a great crowd! Tell Lisa she didn't see what we ate on the way out there! :-)

Thanks for the invite, will definitely look into coming out there for Pat's show, it'd be a blast! Zepagain should be back your way in June, I hear.

Blu, I got an email from someone who was at your PT gig Sat night. He sent me a pic of Pat signing stuff after the gig, with the Zepagain poster prominently showing on the table! Thanks for workin' it for us! We're all really looking forward to the shows out there!

Off to bed, man am I tired!

Cheers!
