It's really cool to hear that Jimmy was in such good spirits. The great thing is that as he's gotten older it seems like he's become an even better person.

Jimmy didn't pop in but Doug Aldrich, Carmen Appice and Simon Wright did.

WISHBOX ROXXXXXX!!!
Man you guys smoked!

Dick and Jimmy Dale were amazing.

Project Steiger was kick ass too.

TLO.... Thanks for everything. KILLER SHOW DUDE!

Pat's playin' at NAMM today. He also got up and jammed with Carmen Appice yesterday in the Gibson room. Totally cool.

Randal... Good seeing ya buddy.

And don't forget Simon Wright, Ed! He sat in for a song with Pat too. The dueling lead with Doug was very cool, and seeing Dick Dale jamming with 12-YEAR OLD son Jimmy was both amazing and touching. Add a great New York steak, all access, Heinies with Mike, Mark, Sal, Ben and Glen, bullhecking with PT his ownself and you can call that one GREAT evening!

Highway 61 Revisited, Voodoo Child, Gettin Betta, Boom Boom, Life in London, uh -- what else, Ed? I forgot to jot down the set list and my mind isn't exactly CLEAR this morning (yeah, I realize that it's 3:30 already)

The Coach House is a cool venue -- the epitomy of a road house. All the bands were good, to the delight of the 200-plus crowd. The buzz of the evening was Steve Z's brush with greatness! Strat, you would've dug the open jam. PT let on that he's in studio all week with Carmine! There's new stuff afoot . . . Wishbox is off to Nashville to back up some big country names at APA, so maybe we'll see some good gigs with Rick and Eric, eh Tony? Sorry your night wasn't going so good -- I trust things settled down as the night wore on. It was good to see you, Ed, Daryl and Kathi, and to meet some new friends from San Diego -- Jackie, Bryan, Kelly and James. Let's hook up that San Diego gig!

Hello all,
Long time lurker here, first time poster. I saw PT for the first time back in 78 or 79 on Long Island (Pats Birthday no less) Well 25 years, what can I say, the man is just amazing! What a treat Thursday night at the NAMM Jam, I'm still buzzin. Great pics ED, thank you! I was sitting across the table from you apparently, wish I knew it was you, I would have said hi. You can even see me in a few of your shots, sitting behind the dancing girl. (Best seat in the house I might add!)I look forward to meeting more of you fine people at the next So Cal show!!

Just to back up the rumors previously stated, I found this on melodicrock.com which tends to be a fairly accurate resource.

"And an exclusive update on Carmine (Carmine Appice) - he and Pat Travers are collaborating on a new CD... they're in the studio right now."

I'm curious to see what kind of project is going to come out of this collaboration! Sounds interesting...

Randy - German Toilets!? Why!? That is really gross!

Jeff K - I think I can see the silhouette of the dancing girl in some of the pics! Is that her!? If she looks as good as her outline, Man! That was a good seat!!

Drummz - I am anxious to hear what comes out of the Travers/Appice collaboration myself. He is a great rock drummer. Stupid question, but he's got to be related to Vinnie Appice, yes? Is Vinnie still kicking or did I read something about his passing?

Waiting for May 1...Getting antsy!!

Jeff and Jim --

that was Jackie, financing director for a local Mazda dealer (San Diego). She and her husband Bryan were there. Jackie warned Ed and I that she was gonna block us with her dancing, but neither one of us minded one bit! She looks even better in person than she does in the pics. The best part was when she coaxed a blonde or two to join her . . . had to get a drool bucket from the bar LOL

Jackie, thanks for being there and for coming to the Buffalo Joe's show. Bryan, call me!

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

On Monday morning, Jim, the local mailman, is walking through one of the neighborhoods on his delivery route. As he approaches one of the homes, he notices that both cars are still in the driveway... usually both cars at this house are gone by this hour of the morning. His wonder is cut short by Bob the homeowner coming out with a load of empty beer and liquor bottles.

Jim says, "Wow Bob, looks like you guys had quite a party here last night."

Bob still in obvious pain replies, "Actually we had it Saturday night... but this is the first time I’ve been able to do anything but go to the bathroom, and that just barely, since 4 am Sunday morning. We had a about fifteen couples from around the neighborhood over for the Christmas cheer and it got a bit wild. Hell, we got so drunk that around midnight we started playing 'WHO AM I?'"

The mailman thinks for a moment and says, "’Who Am I?’ How do you play that?"

Bob continues between hung over gasps, "Well all the guys go in the bedroom, and then come out one at a time with a sheet covering everything but their "units" showing through a hole in the sheet. Then the women try to guess who it is."

The mailman laughs and says, "Oh man! Damn, I wish I could have been here for that."

"Probably a good thing you weren’t," Bob responds, "your name was guessed four or five times!"

I might give the go ahead to reset my account later this morning. I hate to do that but if it can't be fixed any other way then that's the way I'll have to do it.

So if anyone sent me an e-mail and is waiting for a response please be aware that I am not ignoring you and that it is not my fault that I haven't answered yet.

NEW USER REQUESTS all go to ed AT pattravers.com so any new user requests might have to be resubmitted after my account is working again.

Just a quick check-in here today. Ed, very cool NAMM pics! I'm really bummed I had to miss the Coach House, and I didn't get to NAMM until Sun afternoon, so I miseed most of the going's on there too! But I did get to check out the new Jimmy Page Signature Les Paul. It's bashed up, dinged & dented just like Jimmy's real one - too cool! But $23,000... Ouch!

gREG, are you gonna be around on Feb 28? Zepagain's at Cooperstown, let me know!

Thanks for all the cool things said about Jimmy Page's visit to our gig. It's caused a major whirlwind of activity for us, which is a good thing! So I haven't been able to reply to lots of people. I'm working on a special page on the event (the 'Jimmy' page?) to post up on our site, hopefully tonight. Randy, it'll answer most of your questions!

Cheers everyone!

Randal... Good guess indeed. When we first D.C. he was in the Gibson booth looking at acoustics. I thought it strange too that he was at the show. But then he performed and signed autographs at Dean Markley. Go figure....

Steve, The reviews at Zepagain.com reviews are awesome! Especially Celeste's. I have reapeatedly kicked myself in the ass for missing that House Of Blues show.

$23,000? Holy mackeral! For $23grand he'd have to come along and play it too. LOL!

Looking forward to the page update. I have about a zillion questions too. In due time though. I bet all of the Zepagain fans are just buzzing about the Jimmy Page news... so I know you've been overwhelmed. But in a good kind of way I'm sure.

First Daltry, now Page... who's next?

And to answer Randy, I've already gotten to meet Brian May, but not Ritchie Blackmore or David Gilmour! Although I did once meet ex Rainbow/Purple singer Joe Lynn Turner, and gave him a flyer for my Deep Purple tribute that listed me as Bitchie Rackmore. He said, "Bitchie, that's PERFECT!"

I thought Pat was kidding around when he said they were calling it T&A. Reminiscent of the now defunct Travers, Hughes, Devito project tentatively called THUD.

I can't believe that Carmine's still got my old Cactus page linked to his Links page.

That was one of my first webpages ever. Some of the links don't even work anymore and I have no idea how to even update it. I haven't been on AOL for years. Although I still hold an account there. Maybe I should give it a try huh?

I meant to mention it to Carmine at the NAMM show but every time he was around so was Pat and I just never got the chance. Partly because Pat still makes me nervous as hell... kinda like Steve meeting Jimmy only much more frequently.

I also had a chance to mention it to Tim Bogart when Pat introduced me to Tim at NAMM but then Tim took off to the bathroom and I never saw him again. (Gee I hope it wasn't something I said. LOL!)

OH well. I can't wait for the new Cactus album. Cactus is still one of my top two favorite bands of all time. I literally wore out dozens of copies of "Cactus" and "One Way Or Another" back in my hippie days.

CACTUS ROCKS!

And sure enough, after the next song, Swan begins to say to the crowd, "I heard a rumor about tonight..." NO!! I rush over to Swan and quickly whisper in his ear, "He doesn't want us to say anything, or he'll leave!" So Swan continues, "Uh, yeah, I heard a rumor about tonight" and introduces the next song with no explanation to the audience of just what that rumor might be!

Steve,

On a more serious note (not that topless women at your shows isn't serious business!) - did you ever hear anything back about playing in Korea?

I now work in Seoul and I actually tracked down the lady who schedules entertainment for Korea. It was hard because she's almost never in her office - she's off chit-chatting away with her friends (kind of pissed me off when I finally tracked her down... anyway). She hasn't scheduled a single major act since Twisted Sister was here in May. Her predecessor used to get 3-4 big shows a year.

Anyway - if you're still interested, I will start stalking her like Jack Nicholson in "The Shining" and coerce her into getting you guys over here.

I just talked to Eric and he said it is -5 in New York, so he's below freezing. He said that the show was awesome and Blue Oyster Cult invited them on stage to play "Don't Fear the Reaper". He told me to let everyone know that he has some great pictures to post on www.badassrek.com when he gets back. He said that the PTB walked on stage and did that Will Ferrell skit "I got a fever and the only prescription is more cow bell." He said the crowd went nuts screaming and laughing.

Hi All-

I recently acquired 'Fit for A. King', L.A. Blues Authority Vol. IV. A tribute cd to Albert King. Of note is our man covering 'The Sky is Crying' of Albert King and SRV fame. Also Frank Marino does 'I'll Play the Blues For You' which has a really cool bridge (musical, not the structures that goes over stuff like water, hiways or the things people with no teeth use to eat etc., etc., etc...) This release is out of Japan and is another in the vein of those collections where PT does one tune with a bunch of other artists.

Also I see on the BadassREK site that for $10 you can pre-order the bands' pre-release cd w/bonus track with PT on guitar.

I'd like to trade the Albert King cd with someone who has the recently released Italian Jimi tribute cd with the PT cover tune on it. If you have a Jimi tribute cd and want to do a cdr copy trade, email me please epcjimi@yahoo.com .

Regards,

T

BBBRRRR!!! Minus 5 degrees, Yikes! Today I was walking around outside in a T-shirt, shorts, and sandals. I`m sure the guys can`t wait to get back home to Floriduh.

Cool thing about jamming with BOC, and kain`t wait for the pics. I`m going to pre-order the BAR CD as soon as I leave the message board.

I`m not familiar with the Will Ferrell comedy skit, but hey, who sez Vaudville is dead? Not the PTB! I guess it`s like the late, great, Ethel Merman used to sing,"There`s no business, like show business!"

Hey Angie, tell Moe, Larry, and Curly, that I said hi and I`m hoping we can all get together soon.

Great show in N.Y., first time to shake Pats hand in 25 years. Eric and Greg seem like really good people, they also play their instruments really well. I was impressed guys !!! I actually had a Melody Maker (exact duplicate of Pats old red one) in the car, thought I could have Pat sign it, security wasnt having any of that. You guys need to get to NYC, we really miss you Pat. Once again great show. I left after the 2nd song from BOC, What was the point of staying !!

Heads up all you West Coast Hendrix fans!!

I just got tickets for a fantastic show that is getting very little public notice. There will only be 3 shows! Seattle @ the Paramount Feb 22, Portland @ the Roseland Feb 24, and San Francisco @ the Warfield Feb 26. It's a Tribute to Jimi Hendrix that will feature Mitch Mitchell on drums, Billy Cox on bass & Paul Rodgers on vocals. Here are the guitarists that are scheduled to play...Eric Gales, Buddy Guy, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Jerry Cantrell, Hubert Sumlin, Sheldon Reynolds (Earth Wind & Fire), Joe Satriani, Living Color and Kid Rock (why? I don't know!)...How's THAT for an evening??? If we could just dump Kid Rock & get Pat up there, it would be a perfect evening!

I wanted to pass this info to any of you that are within driving distance of these three shows. As I said, there is very little promotion going on for this. It's being sponsored by the Experience Music Project here in Seattle.

You can get tickets at Ticketmaster, or check your local venue. Got my tickets for the Seattle show...Looking forward to this one!

Dammit, why does Pat get overlooked for these kinds of shows?!?!?!?!?!

And as always...PTB is King!

Whats up people !! Just finished watching the New Years Eve gig at Tempe. I've been spending some time trying to acquaint myself with would I like to call, New Pat Travers, since I've been out of the loop for many years. One thing that I have noticed from the concert in NY and the dvd at Tempe, Rick is a really good bass player, I really dig his style. I've noticed that I could hardly hear you, is that Pat asking you to keep it down or is that the way you prefer it?? You're way too good to keep it so low !! Turn it up dude and get the attention you desereve. As Neil peart would say to Geddy, Turn up the bass !!!Hope I wasn't out of line dude !! Jimmy NY

That would be me you hear sobbing. There are few truths in life, but one truth I am certain of is I have come to know that the PTB is Pat, Rick, & Eric. They do more than play accompaniment to Pat. They complement the whole equation. The way they embrace us fans is incredible. Two nicer, more talented guys would be hard to find.

I'm still planning on San Antonio but it will be like going to a family reunion and knowing your favorite cousin's not going to be there.

I should jump in here...

Greg T happens to be a very good friend of mine. I'm sure it's not going to "blow" and I'm certain that Greg T's sure that it's not going to "blow" when he plays with Pat and Simon Wright in Texas come March.

As a matter of fact I'm certain it's going to ROCK!

I think it time that everyone realize that Pat's going to play with whomever he wants whenever he wants. I support ALL of the PTB's that there ever was and ever will be.

I suppose if I were playing with the PTB in the future then that would probably suck too? Well that probably WOULD suck... but you get my drift.

Let's try and hurt as few feelings as possible here... please.

Jim,

I'm not trying to give anyone a hard time here....

But we've been through this a hundred times... almost as many times as there have been Pat Travers Bands!

Rick and Eric rock!
But so did
Thrall, Mars and Tommy.
Sean and Kevin.
Sean and Dave.
Eric and Dave.
Sandy Gennaro and Kasim Sulton.
Shall I go on?

Nobody who plays with Pat blows. If they did he wouldn't be playing with them. How many other musicians have the guts and the where-with-all to play with as many different musicians as Pat? We're lucky that he does and some of us enjoy the variety. Hell I'd love to see Buck Dharma get out and do some jamming... but I won't hold my breath. Getting to see Pat with the likes of Big People and Voices was a real treat. Getting to see Pat with a multitude of musicians is unique experience. Don't trash it.

Yes it's unfortunate for Rick and Eric that they do not play every single gig with Pat.

But it does not BLOW.

I hope you understand my rant.

Holy chit Ed! That Christophe Godin can lay it down!

The only negative I'd say is... there's a lot of shredder dudes around - and very few earn enough cash to make a living. I think it's better to be like Paul Gilbert - do the shred thing, and then move on to other more commercially acceptable stuff to make a living - but keep the shred stuff in your back pocket (he still does Racer X shows occasionally).

He was just one of those guys that make me sick. Effortlesly playing riffs that I couldn't even ever imagined in my brain. I think I enjoyed his stuff more than anything esle I heard at NAMM.

Shredders are kinda like gunslingers... there's always someone better and faster then they themselves are. And if not just wait a minute.

Just a quick thought (not directed at anyone in particular) - I hate having to step into discussions here and I certainly don't want to alienate anyone, eventhough more often than not I end up doing just that :( But I made a promise to myself a long time ago that I will not let this board degrade into something that I regret reading. Too much time, effort and money are spent maintaining, promoting and keeping this place upbeat and fresh. I'm just trying to keep it a fun, decent site to visit. We've all been doing a particularly good job of that lately and I appreciate it! The only thing I ever ask is that we all try and keep the peace.

But above all I believe in accentuating the positive and treating people with respect. Especially here.

I remember seeing Pat w/ Greg T Walker and a drummer I can't remember, but I selfishly wanna see Eric/Rick everytime.......and when I become the ruler of Time, Space, and Dimension, that will be my first Law. But the master guitar hero plays w/ who he plays with....and he's da master! Hard to believe its almost a year ago that I saw that show in Austin.....think I got drunk. g

I'll pass Blu...thanks though. I could have sworn it was Roy Dyke in the original throne. O-well probably an oversight on my part.

Freely speaking as Jim put it, The real PTB is with Mars and Tommy or Nicko on drums. The rest is an evolution of the PTB. One thing is for sure, when you book PT, you get PT and that's all I care about - my opinion, don't anyone get offended. Thanks PT for all the great years and still hummin. PT in Tahoe, Sat Feb 28 or Sat Mar 6 before Texas or after Texas Mar 26 or 27. I will be firming one of these up fast. Got to call Tony. I want a trio. Would it be possible that Rick will come and Freightrain will respond with love and kisses on this? I'll do it, if PT wants to do it and Eric is in a good mood? (lol) I'm out - Blu

okay

Hey Straticles -- I'm coming in to Seattle on the 21st on my way to PA. That show is Sunday night??? It would be tough for me to make my 10 am meeting, so I should probably blow it off, but it sure sounds tempting!

I want to see Rick & Eric with Pat.

Thanks for clearing that up.

BTW - I DO TOO!!!!!!

As a matter of fact some of the absolute BEST PT SHOWS I'VE EVER SEEN were with Rick and Eric!!!!

Living on the Left Coast I can appreciate your frustration. Believe you me.

All apologies Ed, but I was not commenting on the quality of the show, merely on the fact that I want to see Rick & Eric with Pat again. I have seen the Greg T. and Simon line-up and the show was very good. I want to see Rick & Eric with Pat. That's all. And I do consider Pat with Rick & Eric as the PTB. I will not argue nor apologize for this comment as it is simply my opinion. Do not be offended by this. Just free speaking.

No need for anyone to feel slighted. I enjoy seeing Pat. With anyone. And I will continue to drive four hours to see Pat with almost whoever he is playing with. Period.

Later...Jim
