Yup, doesn't seem difficult to find. Dunno about 'smaller' or offline places, but amazon & cd universe both have it (tho amazon says they only hve 1 copy left). Just possible it may be cheaper from amazon.co.uk, as it's a uk import on .com - might haveta hurry tho - .co.uk only have 1 copy too.... ;^)

The reissues of Pat's first 4 CD's on "Majestic Rock" are supposed to sound terrible. I haven't heard any of them, though, so I can't verify that.

Bazooka's looking cool! Release date Oct 25!

If you're a fan of the original Alice Cooper, they're releasing their 1973 concert film, "Good to See You Again" on DVD Nov 8. This should be REALLY cool!

Cheers!

Hey guys, PT here, everything is fine. We have dates coming up starting the end of Nov through Dec 18th. Can't wait for you to have a look and listen. We have added an incredable guitarist to the band. Kirk McKim from Houston Texas has joined the line up and believe me he smokes! We've already begun work on some new material featuring the double guitar thang. We should be able to post the itinerary by the end of this week. It looks like we will be in the northeast then into Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois area and then down to Memphis, Knoxville, Atlanta and other cities. Hopefully fifteen or more shows.
I have been recovering from my brown belt test in Isshin-Ryu karate for the last three weeks. Some test, more like a good old fashioned Sonny Corleone street beating (without the trash can lid). Anyway I got the belt but I think I have a cracked rib to go along with it. Dying is easy, Isshin-Ryu is hard.
Now that I have a manager, Tom Vitorino, I am trying to plan my carreer with a lot more care and attention to the future. We are going to end '05 with a bang and most likely will have '06 be the year that everybody's been waitng for. You will be able to tell people that have just heard of us that you knew the PTB was killer for years.
Anyway I'll post again sooner rather than later. Thanks for having faith and also for all the witty and entertaining posts. It's good to know that you haven't lost your delicate sense of humor.
Cheers,
P.T.

Hey Goldeneye,

Regarding the first 4 reissues from Majestic Rock:

The first two (Pat Travers, Makin' Magic) are the ones to steer clear of because of quality issues. They were cut too hot and resulted in a kind of static throughout.

Putting It Straight & Heat In The Straight are supposedly okay.

Hey Missingmars,

My recommendation to Goldeneye would be to go after the Japanese versions of Heat In The Street & Putting It Straight as opposed to getting the Majestic versions even if they are the better recorded ones. The Japanese versions will obviously sound SO much better, and since the poliferation of the Majestic versions & Ginbel's version (which I think sound better than the Majestic versions) the prices for the Japanese versions have dropped considerably. Just my 2 cents worth. Having said all of that, I can't believe it's such a chore to find decent versions of the other PT Polydork era releases. Those should have been released officially long ago, but then again we're talking Polydork who have ruined many an artists career. Horrible history of management. All I can say is, I'm glad I got my versions of Ginbel's work when they were available, and I'm very pleased with any Japanese version of Pat's stuff that I can find.

And to gREG...congrats on the pink belt! Is that the Starkist version of karate you're taking?

And as always...PTB is King!

Ginbel's version of Heat In The Street & Putting It Straight came from the Japanese CD releases (although he'll never admit it. Nor will he admit the rest of his Polydork releases came from vinyl). :)

It's very possible that they do sound better than the Majestic Rock reissues. I know the Japanese/Ginbel versions of these two sound better than the OneWay twofer that was put out a couple of years ago (well, at least the first half of Heat In The Street. The OneWay version of the first 4 Heat in The Street songs are a bit muffled in sound -they lack clarity. The rest of the OneWay reissue sounds fine).

Hey Pat! Good news -- that's gonna be cool to see the enhanced PTB lineup.

I earned my leather belt in Hein-e-ken last week. I had to destroy a case in 30 minutes but beat the hell out of it in 15. Glad I don't have to do that every day . . .

Seriously, I've dropped 24 lbs in the last year by not sportdrinking. I still imbibe, but with alot more restraint. Got lots of inspiration from Pat when he quit drinking, as if watching gREG get sober wasn't enough to break a guy. Marshal Arts? I think I went to high school with that guy! LOL

Just about done moving my office. Sold the building so had to go. We found a bigger place one block away, so are pretty happy overall. The move sucked though! Had been offline since Thursday night, so this is my first day back online. You guys talk too much! especially gREG, but that's okay since he was mute for the first 39 years of his life. Yeah, he was dumb too but I'm not gonna fault him for that.

Star Kist, Pigmalion? I just saw mine again in the move, so will have another viewing/hearing Saturday. Not for the faint of part!

Hahahaha

And last but certainly not least, STEHM is playing the Halloween Party at my house on the 29th. My son Dustin turns 18 -- where do the years go??? Ed, gREGory and Steve, you coming?

See ya in PHX for the Seahawks-Cards game gREG. Prepare to get your arse kicked. Tell Alice I'm coming and he can go to the game with us. He's buying the dogs.

Hey Monae,

The song that T&A do on the Cher tribute is called "Bang Bang(They Shot My Baby Down)".

I'm not familiar with that song (I was never a Cher fan) but I find it pretty bizarre that they are even on the tribute disc! TNA....Cher? Who woulda thunk? The song is not listed on the upcoming Bazooka release. I hate that I'm gonna have to buy a Cher tribute CD just to get one rare Travers track....but a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do!

Yeah Pig, don't you recall that you, gREG and I did a cover of "Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves" for the Cher tribute? Yeah, we did it at the Hard RockVegas at the bar with a bullhorn, a cardboard box and one of PT's guitars from off the wall. We were all blasted in order to do such a thing, so I don't blame you for not remembering. LOL!!! hey, I'll pitch in on the Cher CD for a copy of the song -- or do I just get half of it? First half/second half, or Beginning/End or Middle? Lemme know ; )

Fearless, I only have the original CD I bought. Don't know whether it was a Ginbels release, but it says "Liquid Digital Studios" on the CD and case and is entitled "Pat Travers - Solo Live." Have you tried eBay?

I got invited to Ronnie Wood's gallery showing at Mandalay Bay on the 17th of next month. The Stones are playing the night after the show, so we'll try to get tickets on the spot. Should be cool to meet Ronnie and see more of his artwork -- I have signed serigraph #237 of 250 of his Eric Clapton portrait -- very well done!

Happy Monday, folks! Where to begin...

The Queen + Paul Rodgers show was KILLER! Paul sang great on the Queen stuff, and it was really cool to hear Brian's guitar on the Bad Co stuff, too. Brian's guitar solo was awe-inspiring; brought back memories of seeing him back in the 70's.

The meet & greet was VERY brief, but still great to say hello to the guys. They paid more attention to my girlfriend (ok, she's cuter than me...), and she brought Brian May & Roger Taylor solo albums that they signed. I gotta go get the new live DVD and see if it does justice to seeing it in person!

Next Thurs, Led Zepagain's playing a benefit show for the Harp Seal Foundation, and Carmine Appice has asked to sit in with us! Don't know what song's he'll be doing yet, but it should be VERY cool!

Rand, I won't be sticking around Sat night for the B-day bash, unfortunately. Are you still coming ot the HoB Fri night? Let me know how many to put on the list for you.

And finally, I hope all the PTB family & friends out in FL stay safe & sound!

Cheers,
Steve Z

A buncha trees got knocked down in Miami, where I inhabit, early this morning and I understand that the Ft. Lauderdale really got clobbered. I also understand Naples, about 120 miles west of me got slammed pretty bad. No electricity right now in south Florida, so`s I`m web surfing via laptop. I guess I`ll have ta convince my self that I really do like canned food cooked over sterno for awhile `cause I got plenty of both stashed away.

I still haven`t heard from fellow Hammerhead, Sandy, whom lives in Ft. Lauderdale. Communications all over south FL. are pretty screwed right now.

A PTBAR show about right about now would sure liven up the place.

Wattcha Gonna Do Without Me
Guitars From Hell

Hey Specs,

I'm betting Brett Farve wishes he had gone ahead and retired. He's such a great player and very respected within the NFL, I'd hate to see him retire after this miserable season. He deserves to go out at the top of his game. Maybe he should've done that last year? Anyway...it could be worse...you could be in Houston rooting for the Texans....HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Yeah, Gettin' Bette, I couldn't believe Parcells was pulling a stunt like that! How do you respect a coach that does that to is own assistant coaches? I would've decked him on national TV and then quit the team. You just don't do that to people who are on your own damn team!

For the 2 guitar thread we've been discussing lately, I'll just be happy to hear "Heat In The Street" again with 2 guitars! I love that little blues 7th chord (I think) slide that PT does during the first solo that's got the repeat delays happening. It's the part that Thrall or Riggs played before PT took over the solo. As much as I've enjoyed it as a solo guitar thing, I've always had to "play" that riff in my head while PT did his thing. Somehow, that process just didn't work for me! Other than that...anything PT brings to the stage is alright with me (so long as it's the real PTB).

And as always...PTB is King!

Wow! Short of pigs flying, or heavy money involved, or at the very least a major kiss & make up between PT & Tommy, this should be taken with a healthy dose of "wait & see"! I've tried to have a conversation with Tommy twice in the past when I've had a chance to talk with him, and he ABSOLUTELY refused to have any discussions regarding Pat. In fact, once was when Tommy was with Whitesnake, and I was having a discussion with Rudy Sarzo & Adrian Vandenberg and when Tommy came up, I tried to initiate the conversation. He barked out something about never wanting to hear Pat's name again and stormed off. Rudy & Adrian had looks of total disbelief on their faces and started apologizing profusely to me about Tommy's attitude. The next time I met Tommy several years later, I remembered our first encounter so me being a bit of a punk, I politely asked him again (after all, he certainly didn't remember me) about Pat, and I got the same damn response! He spewed some nonsense & stormed off! I couldn't believe it, but I was laughing my ass off knowing that I'd aggravated Tommy again. If I ever have the chance to meet him again, I'm gonna ask him about PT again...and I'll watch the sparks fly again.

That being said...maybe they "kissed & made up" over their past differences, which wouldn't be a bad thing. BUT....If it's billed as a PTB gig and not a one-off "special appearance" gig, then Eric is still the right man behind the kit, and should do the gig, in my humble opinion...

Howdy out there in PT land. Hmmm...Tommy Aldridge on drums wonder who'd be playing bass, as I can't imagine Rick and no Eric. Hooked, I was there at the Jaxx show 2 or 2 years ago with Kasim and Sandy Genarro, the question was posed to someone connected with Pat who said that he did not want the show amateurly recorded because of creative control issues, as far as I know it was not. It wasn't a bad show, considering Pat had to call out some of the chord changes, I think they only had 1 or 2 practices, if that, prior to the show. Still pretty kickin', regardless.

Since I've been a big George Lynch fan for years and rarely miss a PT appearance when I can swing it, I'll likely be there. Ginbels? Bueller? Anyone? Anyone?

Keep on rockin'

Carl

P.S. Just witnessed an amazing 3-hour Frank Marino show at the same venue last Friday...it's amazing it didn't burn down into a pile of ash...Frank was amazing. Definitely in my top 5 along with Pat for sure...brought back some great memories...was able to enjoy the show with a good friend and ex-drummer who is the reason I am a Pat Travers fan to this day, he turned me on to "Putting it Straight" :-0)

Jimmy BP,

Maybe you need to cut back on your beer consumption. That would save you more money to send my way so that I could consume more beer! Also, you should just sell your truck & start walking. That would be beneficial to your health, and it would allow you to send even more money my way since you then would have no need to spend your money on gas or insurance on your truck. With that extra cash I could then consume even more beer! Besides, D/FW isn't really as big as it seems when your walking and not always stuck in a traffic jam on the LBJ. And think of the killer tan you'll have in the Summer!

But, I think we should let you keep the child support money, okay? I don't really want your ex calling and giving me guilt just because of something silly like their shoes are worn out or something. I don't need the guilt...just more beer!

Thanks for understanding, and I look forward to the next envelope!

Tommy just called and told me Pat told him he only wishes he could play with Pat again. Tommy was whining some shiznit about Whitesnake and Ozzy, but I made him listen to my Japanese "GFWYK" (thanks for the info Pigus! Those Jap cd's so rock!) and he cried. Tears streaming down his face he admitted, "That was the best I EVER played. EVER." I told him we all thought so.

Then I woke up.

Maybe Eric and Aldridge can share drumming duties at the JAX show. JAX could just put a bench seat behind the kit, Tom can use one stick, and Eric another....

Heey, I understand that the "G3, Live in Tokyo" DVD is now avaiable, according to a poster on the Derringer site. The DVD is with Vai, Satrianni, and Petrucci.

A "Bazooka" is now on it`s way to me, and G3 will be soon following.

Man, sure seems that the December PTB show in St. Petersburg, FL is shaping up to be a heckuva Hammerhead/H2/Stalker party!

For Halloween I have sewn Eric and Tommy togethher, to create a super-drummer. This beast cast from hell shall over take all drummers and send them to thier doom. All towns will shiver w/ fear as they tour w/ the mighty PTB. But hurry, for Erics super drumming power will soon devour the older, more feable Tommy side. But for a short while THIS MONSTROUSITY WILL ......RULE......THE......WORLD!!!! Happy Helloween spooky peeps.

The trademark level cymbals instead of at an incline. I'd love to hear Tommy comment on that. Definitely one of the greatest of all time. I've listened to Tommy a lot and in my very biased opinion he never sounded better than he did on Go For What You Know. Way more for the ear than the mindless double bassing label that his critics like to place on him.

Who started this Aldridge s**t?! Hang 'em by their short curlys, I say!
