Thanks Ed! I knew I saw you out there, but when I looked for you to say hi at our break, you were gone. See you this Thurs if you make it. Zepagain's at the Canyon Club on Fri, too. Whatta weekend, Zepagain shows in Sac on Fri, & Reno on Sat, then caught the Robert Plant show last night in LA! (Yeah, sleep would be nice from time to time!) I HIGHLY recomend seeing Mr Plant if he comes to a town near you! Great band, and a great set of tunes from Zep & his new album, with a few choice covers thrown in. Cheers! Steve Z |

Sugarloaf...any relation to Meatloaf? Speaking of Travers T-shirts, currently there are several very cool vintage ones listed on Ebay. There is even a Crew Tour shirt listed. If someone could do re-issues of those I bet they'd sell pretty quick! If you can wear a size large T-shirt, you ought to check them out. Too small for me. |

From ronniejamesdio.com :Craig Goldy hurt his arm while touring Russia and has been trying to continue to play the shows on painkillers, but it has now become impossible for him to continue. Therefore, Doug Aldrich will be stepping in for him and will play the rest of the tour, including the UK. Wendy Dio states emphatically that,"Craig has NOT been drinking, and has been a real trooper, trying to perform in pain with his arm. We are very pleased that Doug is able to perform with Dio and that we do not have to cancel any shows". Band:Ronnie James, Simon Wright, Scott Warren,Rudy Sarzo and Doug Aldrich. |

Anybody remember Barry Dunaway? Bassist for PT during the Hot Shot era up through around '88 or '89. He then went to Yngwie & after that to Saraya. He was also the bass player for most of the Voices Of Classic Rock shows that Pat used to do a few years back. Anyway...I just read a report that he's now in Survivor, and that they are currently in the studio recording a new album. Now if we can just get Riggs back on the scene again... Yep, the Travers Band tour dates are slim right now. Something must be brewing behind the scenes??? |

Some unknown ass named Howie Simon had this to say about PT. 13. Of all the bands you've shared the stage with in your musical career who were the biggest dicks to deal with and who was the coolest to you? Can't really think of anyone who was ever a dick to any of the bands I was in. I guess I'm lucky in that respect. Pat Travers tried to jump up on stage with Ice Water Mansion once in Florida, but he was plastered drunk and our main roadie threw him off before he ever played a note. The club's employees thanked us profusely later as apparently once he started jamming he would refuse to get offstage. You can read the whole interview here http://www.metal-sludge.com/main/index.php?module=subjects&func=viewpage&pageid=1128 What a jackass!!! THE Rocker |

Who's Howie Simon? Who's Ice Water Mansion? I doubt I'd even go see them, even if I was plastered drunk. No doubt, even on a bad day PT would only improve their show...they should be thankful (if this "story" is even true) that someone of his caliber would even want to improve their image. Maybe they really sucked and he felt sorry for them and tried to help them out...to no avail. Too bad for them. |

Howie Simon had a brush with greatness and blew it. What more can you say? On to other news! I got my TNA LIVE DVD to work on one of my laptops! Freakin' AWESOME! Good energy on this one. The CD was kickin' but the DVD is ROCKIN'! Pat and da band look great. I was a little worried that TM was going to be a little bit too omnipresent due to his bold personality. But he performed like a true rocker. Unlike Howie what's-his-name he took advantage of being on stage with two ROCK icons. I ran through Travers & Appice Live 4 times and each time I liked it more. The production was OK. Editing left a little bit to be desired. What was lacking was made up for in musicality (is that a word?) Boom Boom, while it is an old standard that I've heard a couple hundred times was TOP NOTCH. Pat always adds something special to this song to make it better and better everytime he plays it. Most XLNT, overall I'd give it: |

| Posted on Tuesday, October 11, 2005 - 07:34 am: | |
That sucks because even if Pat was plastered drunk, he had to have either heard a note of something really good and wanted to add to it or he heard some really stinking s**t and wanted to help it out a bit. Drunk or not I bet his intentions were good! Hey! I don't even play and I've gotten on stage with a band when I was drunk! Too funny! Randall was at the bar that it happened! Not at the time, but once. We sang a medley of guess what, AC/DC tunes!! Yeah! lat |

Howie's a guitarist out here in LA. I don't wanna be too harsh on the guy, cause I hardly know him, but he doesn't come off as a very nice person. He can play guitar, but is really stuck in that 80's shred style. He's played with Graham Bonnett & Jeff Scott Soto, and I think he was in a Metallica tribute band too. Personally, I'd be way honored if Pat graced the stage I was on, drunk or no! Cheers, Steve Z |

Rock musicians sure don't mind throwing each other under the bus if they don't like each other. I remember Pat causing quite a stir with his comments about Duane Allman, but that was more of a personal opinion about Duane's abilities rather than calling into question someone's character. Sometimes it's simply better to keep your mouth shut. |

Nicholas Cage Honored/End Of The World Is Near Hollywood, CA - In Hollywood today, home of the stars and some of the richest elite in America, the film industry honored the accomplishments of Nicholas Cage. 40-something year old Cage, star of such impactful movies as "Valley Girl", "Con Air", and "Snake Eyes", will receive The Life Time Achievement Award, Hollywood's highest award for living, working actors. When questioned, Cage commented, "Uh. Acting. Yeah. It's what I do better than anything else." Shortly after the announcement, a giant crevasse opened up along Hollywood and Vine, spewing forth molten lava and belching deadly gases into the air. As the sky darkened from an unexpected double-total eclipse of the sun and moon, large frogs were seen raining from the heavens. Several severely mentally disturbed patients in the Los Angeles County Hospital were pronounced completely sane and released. Homes in Malibu began tumbling into the Pacific, while large tsunami-like waves were spotted just off shore. Officials here are preparing the city, the nation, and the world for the end of time. |

Hey Steve! Sounds great! MY drummer sent me a note on that earlier today. We're playing a Halloween Party / Dustin's 18th birthday party at my house the next night, but I plan on going. I'll check with the fellas tio get a heaad count. Thanks much for the offer! You guys are always awesome to see. FINALLY watched the TNA video last night. I Da-Da-Da-Dug It! LOL Very cool to see Pat in this incarnation, to watch Carmine shred and to see the bass stylings of ol' TM. Man I've got some work to do! Rick is a bitchin' bassist and a source of inspiration, in fact starting to show me how to slap at Algona, but watching TM kicked me in the butt and said "Boy you'd better learn to slap NOW!" Not to mention the ripping solo part. His solo reminded me of Rick's Norwegian Wood solo. The interview with Pat and Carmine was very cool and insightful -- it's great to see how much mututal respect is flowing there. Looking forward to hearing the next album, and they say there may be more coming. We'll see . . . BUT I'm still hoping to see the PTB World Tour. Is that just a rumour??? |

Got my copy of the TNA DVD today. Weird. I ordered it ages ago expecting it to be an import, but it seems to be a European copy. and not sure if this is the case with the US version, but it comes as a bonus disc in the CD!!! (Already got the CD unfortunately, but a minor problem.) The real pisser tho, is that the sound's out of sync!!! Looks great, sounds great, but not together! I guess someone would have mentioned if the sync is a problem with the US version. This also happened with the Glenn Hughes DVD last year - the Euro version is outta sync, so I hadta buy a US version too. Frustrated TC |

Cindi - look what I received last night via email, not sure if you are a Tesla fan: t's almost here! Tesla unplugs and returns to Canada for the first time in over a decade, starting this weekend! NO ONE plays an acoustic show like Tesla, the band that MTV credits for starting the unplugged craze and the "MTV Unplugged" television series. And just because they'll be unplugged doesn't mean this show doesn't ROCK. Anyone who has seen it can tell you that there is a healthy dose of electric guitars, so no one! will be disappointed! Get your tickets! Tickets for Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, London, Guelph, Ottawa and Toronto are here. Montreal tickets can be found here, and go here for the Thunder Bay show. We'll see you in CANADA!!!! Anybody know of any PT shows coming up in No. Cali? Have a great weekend everyone!
