Does anybody out there know who is singing "Superstitious" on the Bazooka CD? |

Missing-it sounds like Bobby Kimball but they don't give him credit for it in the liner notes. If it is Kimball he did a nice job with it, compared with the train wreck on "Last Child". |

It pains me to say it but it's true. Musically it's fine. The vocals are something I would expect to hear at a backyard barbeque with a band barefoot on stage in cutoff jean shorts and a Jack Daniels shirt. |

Greetings from Cleveland! It was a long night. There was 5 warm up bands. One of them called TBS was very good and you should catch them if you can. On to P.T.; I also say this man is at the very top of his game and don't miss this tour.My fourth time to see him and I was completely blown away. The set list is short but it was all done so frigg'n clean. Set List Hooked on Music Life in London Crash and Burn I don't Care Won't Play That Game Heat in the Street Elijah Stevie Take Me To The Pilot PT Nuts Snortn' Whiskey Boom Boom Out Go The Lights Born Under A Bad Sign Crash and Burn was done with no keyboard. (yah he got a new Paul Reed Smith guitar deep brown or burgandy tigerstripe and used it most of the show) Realy after this song my expectations of rock have changed it was that good. Heat in the Street was indeed super clean. PT Nuts had lots and lots of power live. Pat took his sweet time all alone on the stage to take us into Born Under A Bad Sign, once into it Freightrain lived up to his nickname and then some. This was a nice long version. The new and newer band members fit in perfect. Pat was big enough to give many (not too many) prime leads to Kirk who did outstanding with them. Thank you so much PTB! Thank you fans for the posts for without I would have missed the show. Cheers! ....and I've got what you need...we should be.. |

On the lighter side... Just spoke to PT on the bus and he said to say "Hi" to everyone and that the band is simply SMOKIN' He also mentioned that they'll be in this (meaning my) neck o the woods in the not too distant future. HELL YEAH! Hope I'll be able to post the dates soon. That is if the site is still around to post them...

S.H. No, Sounds like I need to get Bazzooka. The doors were adv. to open at 7:00 and we got there at 7:25. Blindside was done and packing it up! WTF? I said. We were told they were very good. The other band I mentioned was incredible. This guy OPENED with "Bridge of Sighs", he even played "Inside Looking Out" He was like one of the old blues guys as he leaned back on his heals, made a face and belted it out. He played the guitar behind his head during "Little Wing" he even sang the words to that song . Cleveland sure rocked last night. I still have temperary threshhold shift. |

Ya know, I think it`s great that the band is riding a bus to and from the various shows. More citizens should use public transportation. I sure hope the guys always have exact change for the fare! Hey Blur, I actually do have pics of Pat, Rick N., and Eric, playing at a Saturday afternoon backyard barbeque. Pat was wearing a plain sleeveless t-shirt, shorts, and sneakers. I`ve several pics of Rick in a Jack Daniels T-shirt. They were taken at a little beer joint, called Muldoons, there in Orlando. The little stage was mounted on cinder blocks, and Muldoons`s staff was selling beer, and a plate of great barbeque for couple of bucks. Some of the other Orlando musicians were playing there also. It was a real easy scene. s`later, JH |

Gotta do at least 2 . . . I know Steve'll be there if he can too. Oh yeah -- I forgot to give credit to Daryl for inspiration too . . we talked about sobriety at Reno, but it took me this long to get there! Thanks, bro. Not being obsessive about it, just trying to effect some positive change. Funny, I can't seem to put out the small brush fires when they break out -- that wasn't the problem ; ) |

I've had the best time of my life at many of those backyard barbeques. Even helped run sound a few years back for a band that had "Snortin'" in their setlist. Caught me by surprise and I just happened to have my PTB t-shirt on. And Pat and the boys can play my backyard barbeque anytime they like as long as Bobby Kimball isn't there singing "Last Child". |

Silverhaze I was at Cleveland show also, Blindside Blues Band was one of the best bands of the night. No one knew who they were and now I understand why Mike was a bit miffed. With his experiance and they had him open the show. The band after him didn't really want to follow him and I can't blame them. Line Up: Blindside Blues Band great! hope to see again. Bad Monkey good rythm section & singer TBS great! ENERGY!! Rick Ray Band unusual but talented, experianced BMZ entertaining, clearly experianced Pat Travers Great band, new second guitar is very talented, hell the whole band just plain kicked ass. |

Zepfanus, It was a band called Allied Nation that opened for PT at the Stone. I think Le Mans played too. I used to wear a white suit in the band (well, it was the 80's!), and our singer was a Steve Perry kinda singer. We did that bland, melodic kinda rock that was big back then! :-) I should try to dig out some pics I have of us & PT from that show. Cheers, Steve Z |

Hey, yesterday we saw the Stoney Curtisband.for the first time here in Europe. WOW what a great band,it's amazing what sound Stoney gets out of his guitar. Check them out!! http://www.stoneycurtisband.net/ And....is there some great news?? After the show we came home, searching on the internet for more about Stoney. And this can you read on his blog entries: Monday, November 14, 2005,it's back to Vegas for a day, then to San Francisco for a day or two.. Get to go see Pat Travers work on his new album up in Cotati. Wednesday, November 23, 2005,Went up to Cotati where we recorded the album, Prarie Sun Studios. Pat Travers was up there recording an album for Shrapnel. Had Pat show me the lick for "Snortin' Whiskey".. How cool is that? One of the greatest guitar riffs in history, in my opinion anway. Whenever I get a chance to do these things, it always make me think of my buddies in Chicago. Whether it be that, jamming with Jake E. Lee, hanging out with Michael Schenker, meeting all these different guys, they were our music heroes, guys we listened to all the time. I know they would get a big kick out of it. 2 more shows here in Vegas this weekend, then back to LA. We leave for Europe on Tuesday, November 29. Our 1st show is December 1 in Amsterdam. I'm ready...Looking forward to meeting some new people. Take Care. |

Thank you, Specs, I will take yopu up on that. Send me an email at randal@ehmarch.com and I'll get with ya. Thanks for being there too! Had a party for my 9-year old today. Funny that I got my sweet tooth back . . . beer never went with cake or ice cream! Hit two weeks today. Grace stopped by for the party and she's in heaven -- said she's never felt the way she now feels about me -- it's kinda magical, really. Too bad it'll be so long til we get together again, but it'll be worth it! I was at 24-Hour Fatness on Friday night, the only one there (at least upstairs in the cardio area) which struck me as odd -- for ME, anyway, to be somewhere without a drink on Friday night and for that somewhere to be a gym. Weird, but cool. Stopped at the neighborhood bar to see my bartender buddy and slammed a couple of cranberry juices on the way home. Different is pretty cool these days! And I made it through another band practice . . . Looking forward to seeing the PTB soon. Ed, how's it look for NAMM? I'll start asking the few contacts I have down here in the hope that I can gain passage this time! Yeah gREG, a friend is trying to get me to commit suicide by going to the Charger-Raider game. I wonder if they'll let you in with a shotgun and a belt fulla shells??? That'd get me through the first quarter, then I'd have to go out to the car to reload. Or maybe just a flack jacket and a stun gun with a backpack fulla mace . . . I'm thinkin' about going just to watch the fights, but staying safe at home sounds pretty damned good . . . I wanna survive until the Monday night game at least! |

HEY -- I just realized that I orderd Bazooka about three weeks ago and I still don't have it! What the . . . and what do you guys think about the Shrapnel studio deal? Can it be a good thing? Of course, the answer is yes since it involves new PTB, but how about on the label side -- with his new management, what could go wrong? Just wondering what y'all's take is on this subject. I don't know enough about what happened with Shrapnel last time around. . . Sound off, peeps! and happy Sunday, everybody. Stay outta trouble Jimbo asked where Grace is. Everything's cool, she just had a little cosmetic surgery. It'll be a couple of months before I can enjoy the benefits, but she wanted it and in teh long run I'm sure I'll be well pleased. As for Pat's decade long tenure on Shrapnel's Blues Bureau label (Mike Varney): Well, I for one liked it. For one reason, it got Pat recording and releasing albums again. What I didn't care for was Mike Varney's penchant for having Pat release cover songs. Out of the 8 full length studio CD's Pat did w/Mike Varney, half of them were cover CDs. Don't get me wrong, a lot of those covers were killer!! I'd just rather see them mixed with PT originals on each CD. |

What are the other Shrapnel releases? The last "official" old re-release I have is the Heat/Putting, numbered, signed release. I can't comment on the others, I don't think. I'm not as discerning as most of you as I enjoy and like the re-released Heat/Putting cd. I often don't hear the limitations a lot of you speak of, but I believe you. I think Heart, the old Heart, you know, the "Barracuda" and "Even It Up" and "Heartless" Heart could effing tear up PTB's "Hammerhead"! Or "Stevie"! I can hear it! Can you hear it?! Later...

Ahhhhhh!!! I posted a few seconds too soon! 360 to be precise! Yeah, I like the Shrapnel/Blues Bureau releases for exactly what they were and did. Pat Travers releasing new(well, new for me) music and filling the vast PT-less void, at that time. I loved the fact that most, if not all of Pat's albums/recordings had covers! He introduced me to Bob Marley when I was 16. And that was cool! Thanks Pat! Later...

Now you realy got me thinking. Can anyone comment on the sound quality of "4 play"? I have the japan import of "Putting It Straight" and am happy with the quality, but at the cost of picking up the other three it will still be cheeper to get "4 play". I have been disapointed in many CD releases over the years. A perfect example is Robin Trower "Bridge of Sighs" and some of the same on "Essential, Robin Trower". The LP has 10 times better imaging and feel! It's just so frustrating to move backwards in quality. Now I'm not saying the turntable is better than CD. The problem can be in two places; the a/d convertor may be junk or the master(not master!) tape can be junk also. I still have some old tapes that sound better than the same disc. I realy want to read some of your thoughts on this so please shout it out. P.S I have two of Pat's live discs (BBC) that I realy don't like the quality. I wonder what "Etched in Stone " sounds like. Please comment on that. Thanks for reading my rant, The Fermenter. |

Fermenter, You won't be disappointed with the quality of "Etched In Stone". It's a DAT recording taken directly from the soundboard. Awesome for a live mix. Rich (Ginbel) did a mighty fine job transferring it to CD too. Ed, if the PTB plays anywhere in So Cal, you know I'll be there! Been tryin' to come over to see you and Mary and go out for some Sushi but Kathi's been working every other week in Sacramento and we haven't had much time at all. Crazy! Dreamed we all crashed at Pat's house and ate up all his food! We had him come tell us everything that we could replace. He went to the refrigerator and named off several items he remembered. Then he said "and the sack full of money", just as straight as hell! A few pregnant moments passed and he cracked a smile, slapped me on the back, and laughed his head off... T - 7:54 and counting. What do ya suppose PT and the boyz are doing right about now, aside from freezing their butts off. It's all of 10 degrees here. This work day will never end. |

Hey Fermenter, On the PT Fourplay: I've got an email into Majestic Rock (label) to see if this is just repackaging of the first 4 CDs reissued by them a couple of years ago or fixed (corrected) copies. I've yet to hear anything, so beware. If they are just repackagings of the original reissues then they are going to be riddled with static. According to Adrian at Majestic Rock, the DAT masters that they were supplied with from Universal were cut too hot (resulting in static throughout). He also told me that they were in the process of obtaining new DAT masters (this time, from Universal Holland) and would be issuing replacements to all those who purchased defective copies. That was over a year ago and even though I've emailed Majestic Rock monthly since then, I've yet to hear (or receive) anything. |

My buddy is a friend of the band, so we'll hang out later to hear stories about New Orleans after Katrina, which is where they're from. Just got back from the dentist. Those guys really know how to have a good time! Eight or ten shots but I'm still sober! DAMN it! hahahaha Hey Strat, where ya be? |

Kellyman! I think I missed the last match-up of Leads against the Rhythms...are they playing again? When? What channel? On a related note, I was in line at Albertson's tonight and saw on the front of the National Enquirer that Rick was abducted by aliens and the getaway proton powered craft was helmed by Bat Boy with Bigfoot manning the copilot's seat. Pictures at eleven... Later...

got a call from Specks...he did in fact fall asleep during the concert and dreamt that PT played the Christmas setlist He told me it opened with "Come all ye, Hammerheads". Also included on the setlist were such notables as "Here Comes PT Claus" "PT Bells" "Away in a PT Cruiser" "OH PT Tree" "We wish you a PT Christmas" "Silent Night, PT Night" "PT Claus is coming to town" "Have yourself a merry PT Christmas" "God rest ye Merry Hammerheads" and the classic "I saw Mommy kissing PT last night" |

To qoute Jeff Spicoli "AWESOME!!!!! TOTALLY AWESOME!!!!" Greetings one and all. Milwaukee's *ss has been thoroughly kicked! Vnuks was packed which was a little surprising as there was almost no advertising for the show and virtually no air play. It was such a trip seeing Pat play in a little neighborhood corner bar. In a way it was kind of cool cuz it was like a private show. Was lucky enough to chat with Eric for a bit before the show and introduce him to my brother. It was very nice to see Pat using HIS band instead of a "rent a band". It was also too cool to be standing right in front of Pat. Very cool to watch his fingers run up and down that guitar neck. Same basic set list as previously posted. Pat kinda had to defend his choice of playing "Take Me To The Pilot". I guess it really wasn't an Elton John type of crowd. Now the d*mn song is stuck in my head. He introduced "PT Nuts" as "Kind of a Christmas song". As previously reported, the band is tight and the second guitar really fills out the sound. Ed, I have lots of pictures in the ole digital camera. Would you like to post them? How do you want them? Should I burn them to a disc and snail mail them to you? I gotta look at them first as being pressed up against the stage isn't exactly the best place to take pics from. God D*mn I'm tired. Does anyone else have a problem with mid week concerts? I used to be able to go to any concert any night of the week and not be this dead the next day. Oh well, small price to pay to be able to see the greatest guitar player on the face of the earth. If you get the chance, go see this band. They are scorching hot! Mississippi Cactus opened up with some good blusey rock and were pretty good. Not sure if they're a national band or not, but if you get the chance check em out. Any questions? Just ask. |

I see someone else saw the PT show in Milwaukee. I agree, that Elton song is stuck in my head also. But Have to admit it was much better live then on the cd. Did anyone hear a request for Elijah? Did he make that one up??? With all due respect,Enough with the overplayed tunes. Pat's vocals and guitar work, were great!! As was his mind set. Eric rocked on the drums! What else is new. The new possey well, gotta get use to it. They were good, at times it felt like studio people. Stage presents very mellow. But they are the new kids on the block. In time... as for being tired. Most of the crowd is middle aged. So we need to hit the hay sooner these days. But well worth it, to be a part of the party. Hope that gig ppayed off ($) for the band. Maybe insentive to come back sooner.Take care all you aging party animals!!! |
