Kevin Rian was born in Canton, Ohio on September 28, 1957 and has been playing bass guitar for over 27 years. Kevin "cut his teeth" playing in many local club bands around Cleveland through the seventies, and moved south to Florida in 1982 when his band "Dorian Gray" migrated south.
As a result of performing all over the state of Florida, Kevin became quickly regarded as one of the South's premier bass players, landing him a "gig" with Jacksonville's own Molly Hatchet. After three years on the road with Hatchet, Kevin decided to make a switch to Rick Derringer, were he stayed for four years.
Being in the "right place at the right time" is what landed "Sav" the duties of bass player for the Pat Travers Band. Asked to record "Halfway To Somewhere" after a brief jam session with Pat at a local club, Kevin came in and laid down some tracks as if he'd been with the band for a long time. And the rest as the say, is history.
Kevin is currently endorsed by Bogart Basses, as well as Aria and ESP guitars and uses Tech Bass Sound Systems and Ibanez effects. Of course you can't forget about DR strings.
