Rodney O'Quinn - Bass
Rodney
O'Quinn hails from Melbourne, Fl. Started playing Bass at the age
of eleven. As like most kids at that time, KISS was the first band
Rodney took a liking too. Once the power of The GROOVE was discovered,
his musical interest went into a million directions. Heavily influenced
by The Who, Foghat, ZZ Top, All the Southern Rock bands and of course,
the Blues. One the best lesson learned, play for the song, no more,
no less!
Went to Rock and Roll High School on the Central/ South Florida circuit
during the mid/late 80’s. Cutting his teeth bands such as, D’Boys,
Shoot Ta Kill, Scratch and Code Blue. Founder, and then Manager for
Legendary band, ELI, Charlie Roberts and Guitarist, Kelly Love, played
a huge role in Rodney’s growth as a musician, as well as developing
a strong business savvy. By 1990 he was onboard w/ ELI and blistered
the Southeastern US for over 4 years and they released two CD’s,
Push it hard and Beware of the Dog.
Close to a thousand shows under our belts, by 1994, the Country music
craze had wiped out most of the rock scene and it was time to move
on. Rodney did a house Country gig in Panama City Bch, Fl. for a year
before returning home to Melbourne.
After a two year break, Rodney has been active in the Spacecoast
Area music scene w/ numerous bands and projects. Now proud to be a
joining the ranks of the MANY great musicians before that have played
beside Rock/Blues Guitar Icon, Pat Travers. Looking forward to being
part of the PTB family. Playing Rock and Roll with great musicians,
no better feeling in the world!
